Growing wealth while investing only the minimum 3 capital in wins by a vote.

That's 15d10 for the base pool plus excellency, and two dice for the stunt.

15d10 for the planning period please.

Passes the planning period

Someone other than theflyingbiscuit please roll 17d10 for the first proper interval

I need someone other than theflyingbuiscuit or NemoMarx to roll 17d10 again

I can't figure out how to use the dice roller. Edit: got it.

Grow Wealth
Seek new customers to increase your revenue stream and profits.
Difficulty 3, Goal Number: 6, Capital Required 3, Interval: One Month

You have managed to snag the government as a customer of your publishing house. Their tax law isn't actually a code, so your initial pitch failed, but they were quite interested in the idea of standardized forms.

You're actually almost to capacity. If you want to increase profit you'll need to hire more workers and build another press.

Personal Action

Get to know the kingdom:

You spent most of your free time flying around the kingdom talking to people. They are people, they want the same things everyone wants: to be secure in their persons and property, to be able to reliably put food on the table, and to be spiritually fulfilled.

The last is naturally the most fractious. The plurality of the population seems to follow a sun cult, with an ancillary moon cult. The Immaculate Philosophy is a major force, and is constantly at odds with a cult to the Elemental Dragons.

That said, the Royal Family apparently lean towards the Immaculate Philosophy, while the Nobility leans towards the Moon Cult, so things are probably going to be interesting on that front. In the faux Chinese sense.

The Nobility is a powerful force, and co-ordinate via the Greater Chamber of the Deliberative. They seem to be their usual regressive selves, with their usual regressive interests. The factions of the Greater Chamber tend to be religious, according to the layman.

The Lesser Chamber is a hodgepoge. It has the familiar elected constituencies, but it also has seats for certain guilds, and there are even a number of seats up for sale each election cycle which go to the highest bidder. You'll need to do more directed research to figure out what the parties are and what they stand for.

Goal: get da money.
Get in the lesser chamber. Give money to supporters to get in as well when necessary.
(I wonder about the possibility to found political parties who put together money to buy the seats.)

What are the current differences in power between these two?

What are the current differences in power between these two?

In theory they have identical powers: Advise the king on their particular interests, propose legislation for the King's consideration, and if the King is indisposed (say he's off on campaign for years on end) they can propose and pass interim legislation that is the law until the King returns and confirms it or tosses it out. The last requires both chambers to agree on the law in question.

In practice the Greater Chamber has significantly greater sway and power.

Get to know the kingdom:

Any big local gods?

What about significant organizations besides religions? For example is the Guild strong here?

This feels more like you are planning to take over more than planning to establish liberalism here...

None that seem to involve themselves with mortal affairs. The local spirits seem to be fairly well behaved.

The Guild has a presence, but the ban on slavery and the slave trade means they aren't as present as they could be.

This feels more like you are planning to take over more than planning to establish liberalism here...
By seizing the few seats that are auctioned we can shift the political makeup of the chamber a little more in our favor.
By occupying the auctioned seats, we can help see to their dissolution. Because our allied members of the auction seats are only here because we gave them money to afford they are more inclined to support us. After all if they know that they lose their seat one way or another they don't have to worry about defending it.

Also if I wanted to take over it would be better to try to get into the upper house, start a revolution, or use patented solar bullshit.
(I leave the details of that last one up to the reader.)

The seats are advisory though. So we wouldn't get much real power from them and especially not from buying more of them. While participating in the system as is might damage our reputation on wanting it changed.

Also, we aren't a solar, right? I thought we could only get solar bureaucracy charms...

If we have a position in the government then we can use solar bureaucracy charms to make government actions more or less successful.

I wish I could copy and paste the charms, but having a position in the government makes us far better at instilling our values.

In fact I found many essence 1 charms that we could use. Like spin the wheels if we had that we would be doing all of these business actions in weeks instead of months.

I found that I can copy and paste if I am not using my phone. I have put down all the Bureaucracy charms that are essence 1.

Type: Simple; Duration: Instant; Keywords: --
Prereqs: Bureaucracy 1, Essence 1; --
You can instantly judge the quality and functionality of an item as being poor, average, or excellent. This does not reveal
its value or purpose.

Not that useful. But a requirement for many other things.

Type: Simple; Duration: Instant; Keywords: --
Prereqs: Bureaucracy 3, Essence 1; Frugal Merchant Method
Choose a market with which you are familiar and a means of selling a particular good. You are aware of the likely sale
price of that good in that market by that means. This estimate becomes less accurate as time passes, or if the means of selling
is left vague.
This should allow us to price our printer and newspapers better, but we are likely already skilled enough to do that. Also requires Frugal Merchant Method. If we ever want some quickly money engaging in arbitrage this is the charm to get.

Type: Reflexive; Duration: Instant; Keywords: --
Prereqs: Bureaucracy 3, Essence 1; Frugal Merchant Method
Target: A potential buyer.
Effect: Make a ([Perception or Wits] + Bureaucracy) Read Intentions roll against the target. If successful, you know the
target's Resource rating, whether he currently intends to buy your product, and whether he intends to betray or cheat you. If
he does intend to betray or cheat you, add +(Essence)s to your Resolve against all his Bargain actions.
Allows us to make better sales rolls. Maybe would have allowed us to add extra success to our last action.

Type: Reflexive; Duration: One scene; Keywords: --
Prereqs: Bureaucracy 4, Essence 1; Consumer-Evaluating Glance
Lacking evidence to the contrary, characters assume that you have information on making deals or the sales of any goods
of interest. You may reflexively activate Insightful Buyer Technique at a cost of 1m to speculate on the value of a particular
good.
Does not seem that useful unless we are trying to cheat someone.

Type: Simple; Duration: Instant; Keywords: --
Prereqs: Bureaucracy 5, Essence 1; All-Seeing Master Procurer
After a scene of interaction with a marketplace, you may activate this Charm. You are intuitively aware of the Bureaucracy
specialties of everyone connected to the market. (Storytellers should generally assume NPC merchants have relevant specialties.
In story terms, this Charm may assist in locating fences or other black market dealers.)

We don't have any idea of black market stuff. In most cases we can craft better. Would have helped with our last action to learn more about this place.

Type: Reflexive; Duration: One scene; Keywords: --
Prereqs: Bureaucracy 1, Essence 1; --
Whenever you take a Read Intentions action in pursuit of a bureaucratic goal (i.e., gaining proper forms, securing an
audience, etc.), add +(Bureaucracy)d to that roll.
Likely would have helped us with selling to the government.

Type: Simple; Duration: Instant; Keywords: --
Prereqs: Bureaucracy 2, Essence 1; Deft Official's Way
Make a Read Intentions action with a base pool of ([social or mental Attribute] + Bureaucracy), targeting a member of an
organization. If the attempt is not opposed by magic, or if the target has less temporary Willpower than you, the attempt is
automatically successful. Otherwise, add +(Essence)s to the roll. If it succeeds, you learn the target's strongest or most
important Intimacy towards that organization.
We can also use this on our own business to find out how our employees feel about us. Also we can use it to find out what makes any politician tick.

Type: Permanent; Duration: Permanent; Keywords: --
Prereqs: Bureaucracy 4, Essence 1; Measuring Glance
This Charm functions only towards workers under your authority in an organization, and only while they are actively
working for the organization. You are automatically aware whenever an Instill action is made towards such a person, as long
as that action would modify an Intimacy of which you are aware towards the organization. This Charm does not convey
knowledge of the outcome of the Instill action.
Special: This Charm cannot detect influence with the Psyche keyword.
Special: Workers who are not currently ''on duty'' do not trigger this Charm's effects, though they will trigger it when
they return to duty.
This alerts us to attempts to subvert our organizations.

Type: Simple; Duration: One task; Keywords: --
Prereqs: Bureaucracy 5, Essence 1; Deft Official's Way
Accelerate the speed of a Bureaucratic process by a number of steps equal to your Essence: from centuries to seasons to
months to weeks to days to minutes.
We should get this post haste. It will allow us to build our business in weeks instead of months. Will require 16 XP to get it and the prerequisite Deft Official's Way.

Type: Simple; Duration: One investigation; Keywords: --
Prereqs: Bureaucracy 5, Essence 1; Speed the Wheels

Begin an investigation of corruption in an organization - interviewing workers, sifting records, and so on. Add +(Bu-
reaucracy)s to any Investigation or Socialize rolls made as part of this inquiry. Treat most workers as if they had Major

Intimacies of trust and respect for you; in narrative terms, such people will volunteer confidential and helpful information.
Workers with strong personal agendas are only treated as having Minor Intimacies to this effect.
This would allow for some very effective muck racking for our newspaper.

Type: Reflexive; Duration: One scene; Keywords: --
Prereqs: Bureaucracy 3, Essence 1; Deft Official's Way, Frugal Merchant Method
Add +(Bureaucracy/2, round up) to all social influence rolls to pursue commercial or organizational ends.
Another charm to add more dice to our business actions. Also we should be able to use it almost constantly if we make a newspaper and try and investigate something.

If I was GM I'd rule that it applies to stuff like applying for a license or getting a passport or such. Not massive undertakings of an entire organization like a project is.

That said, I'll allow it to apply to projects but it can only reduce things by one step (just one, not per essence dot), and never to less than a week.
