To be honest, i find our powers more boring every time we learn that they are stronger than previously though, as we rapidly approach territory where we either outright win or lose, without actually interacting much with opponents.

I would find simple large scale telekinesis to be much more interesting than what we have now. Larger is not necessarily better.
This is WORM, there will always be someone with enough bullshit to challenge us whilst we wait to get murdered by Scion, also we are part of Cauldron, the founders of the Protectorate, the strongest heroes of their age.
If we weren't OP we'd be left behind.
Also this quest seems to be just as much about emotion as it is about actual powers and WORM. This is a story about people and relationships, psychology and the struggles of a superhero life, the powers seem to be coming second.

I believe that you missed the part where we were already stronger than all but three entities with our lesser power.

At this point we either win or lose. There is no real fighting to have - either we apply our power and they work, we get blindsided before we can react or enemy is immune and we can't really do shit. Gravity was already pretty disgusting, but even with that there are some edge cases where we can be meaningfully opposed.

I don't think that escalating from our power was necessary, and i only see it be harmful for overall story.

There is only so much drama you can write about before it gets old. I mean, it's not impossible to make it work as character focused piece, but chances are rather slim.

Just wait a little while before you make your judgements, IKnowNothing has done really well without any superhuman battles so far, also I have faith in him as a writer to keep the story going at a good level.

If you still feel this way after the first fight scene then you'll be entirely justified, I'm just saying give him a chance first.

I mean, you guys had the chance to be Eidolon of all people.

I fully admit, with the origin that was chosen with Alex, you guys were railroaded into becoming OP. But right now, you're not just going to auto-win a fight. Alex has no fighting experience, and no experience using his power beyond lifting a few objects and throwing them around.

He has the potential to become the third strongest. Until then, he's a kid with a really big stick.

On the surface, you're right. In a straight fight, Alex will probably win most of the time.

But, you can say that for most of the Founders.

And how many people in this universe fight fair? The second his powers get out, Alex's enemies will never try to fight him directly. They will go after people, alter his concentration so that he can't defend himself as well. Attack him mentally, shoot him with lasers or fire, overload him with waves. And there is always everyone's favorite "Tinker Bullshit."

The people and things that can give Alex a good fight are quite large.

Yeah, look at how Skitter fought initially, she utilised a comparatively weak power to kick the shit out of people supposedly way out of her league.

We can outright disable majority of enemies, hauling them away if we so desire. We can destroy nearly all materials and structures. We can fly and have omnidirectical sense that work on pretty much everything that actually exits.

None of these are terribly hard to use. They are also brutally efficient at defeating just about anything and are, apparently, our weaker power.

But .. that's .. the point? Only way for us to lose is Master or Trump getting a drop on us or something. There are no "fights", we just capture them or lose.

Most of these don't even work! We can casually extract hostages with out pseudo-telekinesis, abuse combination of senses and TK to haul barriers to tank for us or burrow and move underground making any ranged attacks useless and just outright squish Tinkertech with great precision. Or make it go away into space.

Not to mention that you are missing the point. Issue isn't gravity being already hilariously strong, but there not only being way to control space and time with it, but also other, stronger powers.

At least don't let our range extend for more than few meters around us!

I for one am glad that we are overpowered bullshit. We are meant to be a damn shining example and by god we will be. Remember, even as bullshit as we are Scion is still above us. Our goal is to build up a force/world that can stand against Scion. That will be the hard part. Fighting isn't where the meat of the conflict will be or shouldn't be once we get in the hang of things and that is fine.

He hasn't stated the range of our influence yet so it might be just a few meters.

Also Telekinesis and telepathy can kill us, TK ignores gravity, we have no defence against telepathy either. Also Illusionists and Masters fuck us hard (But not as hard as Rachel, hopefully)

Nanites and other tinker weapons with subtlety can catch us off guard, we seem to only have our sense enhancements sporadically.

How can we casually extract hostages if they are halfway around the world with a gun to their head and we don't know where they are?

Also maybe the real power, the stronger power you keep referencing is Time manipulation, instead of some other thing.

Also if you go back a few pages people were panicking when they realised there was no way to kill the Endbringers with our powers without causing massive damage to the planet. Also here are other Parahumans that IKnowNothing has confirmed can kill us rather easily

For all we know, he might decide to have a villain trigger with the Sting shard instead of someone who will become a Ward. And imagine if the Sting shard decided to try and do a tinker trigger instead of a blaster-esque power.

Isn't that the final boss though? I do not care if it is the final boss. I just do not want any OC's beside our character is all.
It wasn't Scion.
I'll give you a hint, we've met him already.

Considering the fact we will be playing through the entirety of the WORM saga as well as the years before it begins and will be a part of the Founders, who didn't have all their enemies shown on screen so to speak, we will likely have to have a few OC's, most will be S Rank as that is who the Founders usually were brought in to deal with.

Well, Dr Mother had all those other vials. Just because we didn't take them doesn't mean others won't.
And currently, there is no reason for Manton not to do what he did in canon. Therefore Siberian is still in the future.

And as the guy above me said, since we are so early in the Worm timeline, most people we interact with are going to end up being OC's. That's kind of inevitable.

From the Worm wiki:
The Siberian is both the unstoppable force and immovable object,[2] unaffected by physical forces or any parahuman ability.[2][5]Further she is capable of bestowing her invulnerability on anyone or anything she is in physical contact with. This allows her to leap vast distances by transferring the effect to where she leaps from and then applying it to where she lands, allowing her to land on roofs despite dropping from thousands of feet above them.[6] Her fight against Hero and the Triumvirate Legend, Alexandria, and Eidolon is remarked to be "the first time a truly dangerous villain made an appearance",[5]neither Hero's armor or Alexandria's seeming invulnerability are able to stop her.[2] She is immune to both Trickster's teleportation and Panacea's biological manipulation abilities.[7]

She actively allowed gravity to affect her so she could walk, and not be suddenly flung out into space, and could ignore it just as easily. She is seen gliding/minimizing inertia in a few cases to make huge leaps.[8] She could decide what parts of her are affected by which effects, actively allowing her hair to sway in the breeze.[9]

Furthermore:
She can also teleport and as long as her Dad's around reform her physical body.
She took on the Cannon Founders team and beat them half into a pulp.

Basically WORM has a crap ton of bullshit superpowers. Some more than OP enough to murder us

Alright, fair enough. A dangerous individual. But what is stopping us from just killing Manton with our unlimited Gravity Manipulation. Or trapping her in a Planetary Devastation like Pein from Naruto. Also, she ignores regular earth gravity what is to stay she could resist the sundry effects put upon her by us.

I think the point people were trying to make is that this is not a world where in day to day life, massive powers can be a problem as well.

Hostages with motion detected bombs on them. Doesn't matter if we float them away, the bombs go off. And currently we don't have the reaction speed to gravitically contain explosions.

We are still vulnerable and can still be challenged or killed basically, and we have a family we are close to and that we love, so there another weakness.

I mean it depends on how much we can do with our gravity that we have found so far to be limitless. There are ways for us to use gravity to beat any situation.

She's a projection. She doesn't need to pop before she can be resummoned. If we put orbit Manton will summon her back. The problem is she can ignore most of our gravity based powers and still come to murder us.

Sure we can crush manton and that'd solve the issue. To do that though we'd have to avoid his kurderous projection and try to actually find him. Not an easy thing to do.
