Scrapped (A Discarded Android Riot Quest)(Always Recruiting)

After jumping aboard a shuttlecraft and floating in the void due to a ship-related problems for who knows how long, Unit 0-0-0-8-9, now referring to herself as Caroline Hartmann, crashed near the HG-903 Scrapyard,
I think a crashed shuttle is already too much shuttle to be safe from robot space aids. Maybe have her hear she was to be scraped and sneak onto the scrap ship early and enter sleep mode instead of deactivating. Maybe purposefully placing herself near something that can slow or cushion her fall a bit. That way she'll still have done it on purpose and avoided the risk of not being one of the massive majority that doesn't wake up on impact, without getting robot space aids.

I sorted out with the GM over a private post. Essentially, Since my AI was a somewhat high-ranking AI (Being a diplomat to first contact scenarios and all) She managed to use her still active permissions to access a Galactic Administration shuttlecraft. However, don't bother using it though; Had a rather nasty crash.

EDIT: But that could work. After her ship was deactivated, She could of put herself in sleep mode. Good idea, thanks.

But you gotta remember that she wanted to escape to a colony via ship, and while I understand that hiding in junk ship works due to the fact that It has to return somewhere, I'd imagine that the shuttlecraft was the fastest way of escape at the time.

But if it's too much of a problem, I'll change it. Would have to shuffle around some character notes, but if it's necessary, I won't complain.

So is construction what gets used for building and repairing components?
Speaking of, @SoaringHawk218 if you could specifically look for a motor to repair my drill, I'd very much appreciate it.

Sure thing. Editing vote.

EDIT: Decided to add omake here rather than in a new post.

"Roit then, off we go."
Crenshaw elevates one end of himself to get a good angle and begins to dig out the sloped main shaft, all the while singing one of the many songs he and his batch brothers had written in their many decades of near isolation:
"Born underground, suckled from a teat of chrome,
Raised in the dark, the safety of our mountain home,
Skin made of iron, steel in our bones,
To dig and dig makes us free, come on brothers sing with me!"

As he listened to the other robot sing, Hewie's Search Mode continued analyzing, and noticed some damaged components.

(Active Mode Priority) Family Mode Recommendation: Find replacement parts, ingratiate self.

Switching fully to Search Mode, Hewie began to seriously search the piles of garbage around them, trying to pick out a viable component (though the filter was broad enough that, if something else was located, it would be noted.)

I still don't know if I'm clear or not, But I'll post my vote here since the problem is with my origins, not my skills or hardware.

[X] Assist @EWilanO in creating a language kernel, for the present and for the future.

Later on I plan to look for an antigravity generator and some other computers and cameras to link up with the gaming one we have to program a predictive engine for where the ships are gonna dump new trash. Set up an antigravity bubble to cushion the fall so the junk and bots doesn't get as damaged from the fall for easier recruitment. Maybe set up a deal with a nomad group to tell them where the fall sites are in exchange for not attacking us and letting us grab a few components and any droids that fall. Thoughts? Also thinking of seeing if we can build an endoatmospheric flyer for scouting and stuff.

First, we have to deal with the factions around the place. I'd imagine every drop would be like a supply drop in one of those survival games, where everyone on the planet is trying to get to them before anyone else does. First, we should either diplomasize or 'deactivate' any potentially hostile factions.

This is backed up by the war painted barbarians; not every group would want to talk first.

EDIT:

But I understand; We could make the device now, just not use it until everything is fine and dandy.

Not to mention it's worth as trade for the Nomads. Information about a dump site would be invaluable to them. Also, I edited a [Name] choice into my vote. Vote SparkGear Hold!

True, but that runs into the fact that the adversary would not always be keen to partake on their end of the deal. We should just focus on the dumps that happen in our area; after we form some sort of security council with friendly factions to wipe out the bandits, then we can branch out to regional and planetary intervention.

In reality, right now we need to focus on increasing our reputation, or notoriety if need be. After that, more factions would be willing to work with a proven group of individuals, rather than a group of assorted settlers.

And, while this is a half-joke, there are other settlements around that may need our help. We should start some sort of commonwealth as soon as possible to protect us from stronger enemies and the likes. A dozen city-states would be more respected than one.

True. I wasn't planning on trading for anything more than rep and maybe a few spare parts at first. Plus, we'll need to constantly develop our predictive software to stay ahead of anyone who steals our idea or thought of it first. Best bet would be to hack traffic control, or if that's unavailable, the ship's navigation system itself.

I'm worried about the last bit. If the Government hears about their systems being hacked, they may work up enough care to send a pacification force over. We should refrain from hacking junkships for now.

I agree, and even when we get better intrigue for hacking we'll be on read only. No actually touching anything. Plus, unless they use lasers, which isn't that effective if you don't keep the link up constantly due to light lag throwing off aim, hacking traffic control should just be decrypting the transmissions.

Hmm... Do we know where traffic control even is? Are there any government posts or areas on this scrapyard? Security or something like that?

How would you know? All you are aware of is that you were scrapped and dumped here.

Righto... Given by the fact that there are bandits running around, if they exist they don't seem to be very good at their jobs.

But I agree with the fact that we will have to decrypt their communication network somehow, and unless the GA is socialist, the Junkship should be a civilian/corporate owned vessel, so hacking it shouldn't be that hard.

Well, she was just pretending to be deactivated so she might have detected a transmission if she has any wireless capability which would at least let us know there is a traffic control.

I'd imagine that would require me to go back to the now destroyed shuttle to find that out. I was asleep, remember.

And as a diplomacy AI, I should have wireless capability, I didn't write that down, however, traded that for diplomacy bonuses.

I would like to point out that since HG-903 doesn't really have any atmosphere or magnetosphere worth mentioning, I've just been writing you all as talking via short-range radio anyway.
