Only for fluff purposes; being abnormal sizes can come with interesting tradeoffs, but until you get to some actual heavy military gear like battle tanks and whatnot it doesn't unbalance things too much.@I just write I've just realized that no one asked, but how does size affect combat? Like, if I'm a tiny bit with the ability to hide in more places and exploit smaller gaps in defense or a giant gundam that can step on people, does that actually matter?
Well I am a tank. So I guess I need to Salvage for a large weapon and hope for a gun. Actually, how big a bonus would I get for equipping one of our defense turrets?Only for fluff purposes; being abnormal sizes can come with interesting tradeoffs, but until you get to some actual heavy military gear like battle tanks and whatnot it doesn't unbalance things too much.
For the laser? +10.Well I am a tank. So I guess I need to Salvage for a large weapon and hope for a gun. Actually, how big a bonus would I get for equipping one of our defense turrets?
I love how these abstractions work. A laser turret is equally effective as spiky knuckles is equally effective as super strength. For the laser? +10.
For the mortar? +15, but you'd likely deplete the entire ammo reserve for it.
Police spikes are very effective when you know how to use them!I love how these abstractions work. A laser turret is equally effective as spiky knuckles is equally effective as super strength.
A lot of it is terrain; sometimes there just aren't the long sightlines required for ranged weapons to really be good. The mortar has fewer problems with this, since it can be used for indirect fire.I love how these abstractions work.
