Scrapped (A Discarded Android Riot Quest)(Always Recruiting)

Huh, not a bad interpritaiton of jerry. I like.

sorry about messing you up with updating the size.

Also thanks for point out the typ0 in the units name, im going to lore it as quaility control not catching the type on the prottype and first few dozen units, meaning those ones are now collectors items.

Iron Bob's Memories (OMAKE)
Omake: Dog Days

"Hopefully Crenshaw won't cause a Code Davis with all that digging underneath the base; then again, digging was what he was made for." Iron Bob mumbled to himself out of habit. He was sorting out parts for Leroy's chassis when he heard barking from far away. A conversation Iron Bob had forgotten long ago triggered in his memory banks.

"Hi, Iron Bob! This is our new dog, Rusty!" Joe's eight year-old son Jacob held up a small, squirming puppy.

"That is a puppy." Iron Bob didn't understand why Jacob was hold the dog up to him. Was it broken? "This unit cannot diagnose or fix organics."

"Huh?"

"I cannot diagnose or fix any faults with the puppy."

Jacob lowered Rusty to the ground. "Rusty's fine, I just wanted to show you since you're stuck here all the time."

"That is inaccurate; this unit makes several visits a month to assist in repairs-"

"No, not like that!" Iron Bob stopped his rebuttal, as he had learned that humans often interrupt when they feel a line of conversation is unnecessary. "I mean, I only see you here, and I wanted to show you Rusty. Here's a trick I taught him, well, a trick Dad and I taught him. Rusty, sit!" Rusty continued to sniff around Jacob and Iron Bob's feet. "No boy, sit." Rusty looked up at Jacob and lowered his hind legs to the ground. "Good boy, Rusty!" Jacob opened a pouch on his backpack, bringing out a bag of colorful shapes. "He's been a good puppy, so now he gets a treat. Would you like to give him one?"

"I don't understand. What do those do?"

"If a dog does something you want them to do, like sit down or poop outside, you tell them they're a good boy or girl and give them a treat. It's easy! Just take one of these and throw it to Rusty."

"Good boy." Iron Bob didn't know how to throw per se, but he dropped the treat next to Rusty and watched the young dog devour the treat. "Would Rusty be more efficient if you gave him the rest of the treats?"

Jacob laughed, "No, you give treats after the dog does what you want. Besides, if I gave him the whole bag, he'll get a stomachache." After a few minutes of Jacob talking about school and his new favorite video game, he took Rusty home, but not before leaving Iron Bob with a few treats to reward Rusty on his next visit to the repair shop. After that, Iron Bob would occasionally give Rusty a treat before asking anything of him to see if a treat beforehand improved Rusty's efficiency. (Results were inconclusive.)

Iron Bob found himself digging in his tool belt for about a second before remembering he had no treats, and Hewie didn't need any to begin with. Still, as he saw Hewie trotting past him, he whispered: "Good boy."

Manufacturer: Imperial Industries
Model Name: Mechanicus
Serial Number: 1
Function: The initial purpose of the Mechanicus model was to assist human scientists in research and development and to aid in difficult construction projects. However, production ceased after the first model began displaying a worrying amount of independent action and surprisingly, religious fanaticism.
Physical Description: The Mechanicus model is vaguely humanoid. While it does possess a potential for modularity, it's most striking feature are the four "mechandrites" which protrude from its back. In addition to its two arms, the mechandrites allow for an amount of dexterity that is impossible for an I augmented human to display.
Personal Identifier: Archmagos or Magos, He/him or It
Skills:
-Salvage 1
-Intrigue 1
-Construction 1
Hardware:
-Mechandrites: Like something out of Ancient Terran fiction, the Mechanicus Model possess four tentacle like appendages. Despite their appearance, they are surprising dexterous, capable of wielding both weapons and tools with similar ease. +3 Construction +4 Combat
-Holy Binary: As a machine dedicated to research and develop, it was imperative that the Mechanicus Model be able to communicate with both other machines and humans with relative ease. While this "binary" is is far removed from that of Ancient Terra, it is capable of communicating with both machines and, when properly translated, humans. +8 Intrigue
-Vox Caster (Modification): After breaking into one of his human coworker's vehicle, Archmagos decided to repurpose the speakers into an instrument of the Omnissiah's will. +10 proselytizing +5 Volume
-Litanies of the Omnissiah: Drawing upon a well of inner wisdom, Archmagos has written a number of psalms and hymns dedicated to the Machine God. He has also written a number of holy books speaking of "The Quest for Knowledge" +10 Religiosity +5 Favor of the Machine God

Status: Patched

Is this a good character sheet?

Also, should I construct a more detailed backstory?

Edit: Forgot some stats

Turn 2 Results
Task 1: Repair Leroy
Roll 49 + 10 (hardware) + 10 (skill) = 69
Success

Thankfully, Leroy wasn't all that damaged when he had to fend off the Cannibals during that not-terribly-successful recruiting mission. As such, fixing him was rather straightforward for an experienced repairbot like Iron Bob; just change out a couple servos and weld some thick sheet metal over the gaps in Leroy's casing. The whole repair job only took a few hours, after which Leroy departed to meet up with the salvage expedition. Shortly afterwards, Iron Bob was called down into the scrap mines for some emergency stabilization efforts.

Reactor Retrieval: Successful

Aside from simply sending Teractor to retrieve the Shova Fleet Yards reactor, a sizeable salvage expedition proceeded out to pick over the scrap dunes for other useful bits of tech. Unfortunately, while a fairly large number of components were found, many of them were in a condition that left much to be desired.

The first find was actually a large piece of industrial equipment; closer examination revealed that it was actually an all-in-one microchip fabricator. Simply put in the correct mix of semi-metallic elements, and you could outright mass-produce robot brains or other computing components right in your base. Sadly, the device is in such bad condition at the moment that if you tried to use it, you could probably only coax it to work for a short time before ending up completely nonfunctional. In addition, you are currently unable to supply the required materials at the needed purity. Teractor brought it back to base on a second trip after the reactor haul.

Compared to that, the next find was fairly boring. That said, boring is a relative term, particularly when it's being used to describe a high-thrust fusion rocket motor designed for use on ship-to-ship missiles. You could probably re-purpose it as a furnace or super-blowtorch if you wanted, but first it will be needing some quite major repair work.

Another fairly boring find is a heavily damaged Sparta Industries Light Laser; it should be easily compatible with any Sparta Industries unit if you can manage to fix it.

There were a few other finds that were in functional condition right off the bat; the first of these is a portable concrete mixer; you can probably either re-purpose it, or if you can get at the planet's surface you might be able to find the ingredients for concrete.

Second is a fairly large server stack with only a few server blades non-functional. As far as you can tell, it's designed to provide a safe and stimulating environment for young AI before they get put into a robotic body.

Your last find is a hybrid fission/fusion nuclear reactor a cubic meter on an edge. It's too small to get net energy out of a fusion process, and there isn't room for a critical mass of Uranium 233. It gets around this by using D-D fusion as a neutron source, artificially stimulating the Uranium to undergo fission and thus generate useful quantities of energy.

Some time during this whole process, a tribe of around eight Cannibals trundled up; they took one look at your defensive escort along with the sheer number of salvage bots digging around, before summarily vacating the area. Apparently Cannibals aren't suicidal; who knew?

Task 3: Investigate Cannibals
Roll 6 + 15 (Hardware) + 10 Skill = 31
Failure

Speaking of Cannibals, they're apparently also able to tell when they're being followed. Dodger learned this the hard way, as the Cannbal group unexpectedly fired a high-velocity net gun at him, wrapping him in a net weighted with heavy metal balls. As the flying robot found themselves crashing on HG-903's surface and being dragged off by the Cannibals, Teuthis escaped under cloak to get help. It would be required almost immediately if Dodger would be getting out of this alive.

Task 4: Recruit Loners, with an emphasis on translating the unintelligibles
Roll 86 + 70 (hardware) + 30 (skill) = 165
Success

There are several factors leading to this recruitment initiative going better than the previous one. First, George is significantly less intimidating than Leroy, despite only being marginally less effective in a fight. Second, the trio of diplo-bots and their damaged laptop provide a set of tools to decode the painfully incompatible communications protocols some bots have, and get them updated with better ability to talk to people. Lastly, no Cannibals showed up to bring things to an early end.

In the end, you only brought four bots home with you, but your reputation among the nearby loners is greatly improved, particularly for your work in helping people actually be able to talk to each other.

Task 5: Excavate Reactor Chamber
Roll 57 + 20 (hardware) + 20 (skill) = 97
Success

Doing the job you did would surely have taken humans months, digging out a room large enough to house a reactor meant for a full-fledged starship. It is quite fortunate for you that you aren't human then, managing to get the room dug out in plenty of time for the new reactor to be shipped in.

That said, you're only partway done when Crenshaw calls you in to help with an emergency in the scrap mines.

Task 6: Dig Scrap Mine
Roll 8 + 10 (skill) + 10 (hardware) = 28
CRISIS

Digging through the scrap proved not only easy, but suspiciously easy. Crenshaw's suspicions were confirmed when he found his way into a sizable cavern, of a size comparable to a sports stadium. The ceiling seemed to be an ancient section of carbon composite starship hull, held up almost entirely by a single massive carbon composite support beam. A composite support beam that had already been eaten almost halfway through by acid leaking from an ancient storage tank, which Crenshaw had accidentally broken even further open with his drill in the process of entering the cavern.

Immediately, Crenshaw fetched every construction-qualified robot at the Stockade, and brought them to help fix the problem. It was touch-and-go for a significant time, with it seeming like the cavern would collapse at any moment and collapse the ground underneath the Stockade, surely causing heavy damage to the closes thing any of these bots had to a home. Still, eventually the cavern was stabilized, leaving a massive underground space beneath the Stockade that could be put to many, many purposes with a bit of work.

Well a rescue mission is a given.

What should the rest of us do? I am tempted to do one more round of recruitment/meet and greet. After that what do people think of trying to organize a periodic market. Give the sceptical but friendly loners a place to socialize. Plus we might be able to trade for useful stuff they find.
