I feel "the person I have a crush on online turned out to be my brother and now I want to kill myself out of embarrassment" is a bit distinct from "I am in love with my brother" but it was a long time ago I watched it so I might be misremembering what actually happened.
Might as well post the meme:
>Baaaaaawwww onii-chan won't love me because he already has a girlfriend
>Well, it's okay. I still have that cool and nice guy I met in an online game
>BAAAAAAWWWWWWWWW HE'S ACTUALLY MY ONII-CHAN

Forever Suguha
Basically her drama is that she tried to get away from loving her cousin...by falling in love with her cousin, but with a different hairstyle.

Unless you're an EXTREMELY talented writer who's earned the trust of their audience that they're not just doing it for shock or titillation, it's going to be incredibly hard to push a "in love with my brother" plot as serious drama. Though I heard Drakengard managed to do it.

I'd also like to hear about this Dizzasta drama.
Drakengard did not exactly present anyone in a positive light is the thing.

So it just occurred to me: the duel at the beginning of the season? It wasn't just Suguha being a bully; she was trying start their relationship over again with the thing that splintered their bond.

Hell, Kirito's being trapped for two years, combined with his focus on some random e-girl - from her perspective - instead of the sister who he was once close to... No fucking wonder she was pissed and resentful.

So, um, holy shit, Lennon Drake went fucking hard on that end scene with Suguha. Like, that is some S-tier level voice acting right there.

Oh, uh, also, I definitely prefer this interpretation of Suguha's and Kirito's relationship to the canon one where she was in love with her brother. That was fucking weird then and it is a marked improvement to get rid of the incest subplot and replace it with regular family drama to make up for it.

It seems odd that the Abridged episodes still get copyright claims when they might be the only ongoing advertisement of Sword Art Online left these days.
That is not true. The latest TV season was less than 3 years ago and the latest movie was released in October last year. The franchise is still going quite strong. Not the super hype it once was but few franchises manage that.

Sorry that this has to be what bumps the thread, but given this thread has discussed abuses in the Abridged community before, I felt like it was acceptable to share this news here:

Kirbopher's under the gun for misconducts again, and Littlekuriboh and Teamfourstar are accused of covering for and lying about them. Also involved are Shadyvox as a whistleblower, Psyguy, CrikeyDave, 1kidsentertainment and XTheDarkOne as other misconductees, and the members of Teamfourstar as enablers.

We already knew about 1Kids bullshit from Jesse. PsyGuy and CrikeyDave I'd never heard of, Shadyvox I'm skeptical of given he's apparently Trump supporter, and XTheDarkOne... damnit, I liked his Abridged Series.

As I commented elsewhere, I do agree that it sounds like TFS and LK dropped the ball when it came to disavowing their abusive former collaborators and that Tara has every right to be pissed at them.
That said, I'm willing to give at least Scott and Martin the benefit of a doubt that they weren't actively malicious towards the victims.

Eh, I've fallen off of SAO Abridged after the reveal of Sugu being Leafa and the massive long update time.

Still, sucks to see these people being utter shitters behind closed doors.

Well, things have gone both better and worse than expected. Tara Welker has apologized for and retracted her accusations against LittleKuriboh (and for some reason XTheDarkOne), admitting to a lapse in rigour and communication:

docs.google.com

Martin emails, apologies
