So, that's KaiserNeko voicing Sugou right? Does this mean we might have Lanipator and MasakoX voicing DEATH GUN? :V

Who's this King of Ashes guy?
He's a referenced but never seen character who took over the Colosseum floor Kirito lost to Kayaba on after their fight turned out to be a dud and everything burst into flames. Kirito did somehting to tick him and Don Fluffles off, in the later case several times, before the game cut out and they could get their revenge.

And it unfortunately is not up on their Facebook page yet. They should post it over there pretty soon though while they contest the copyright claim, and you can expect the video to be back up in a week or two.

Soon can't be soon enough. : (
If you're really desperate, there's dozens of reaction videos on youtube that have the whole thing in them. You could search through them for someone who is less obnoxious than the rest. Besides that, unless some kind soul comes forward with a mirror (I couldn't find one after a google search, reddit search, and youtube search) you're unfortunately going to have to wait.

Seeing what they did with Sugu actually made me think and I thiiink I have a working theory for why characters like her exist.

ok. So I don't think the appeal is incest. It just serves as a shorthand for why the two have an intimate relationship and near unconditional love. It also serves as an excuse for why it's awkward as hell and they'd be nervous about it. I think the appeal is that it short hands the mind set people often are in or want (intimate loving relationship, awkward and nervous about it, unsure how to get there). Oh and if you got past all that there's already a girl who has a thing for you no questions asked.

Now excuse me while I take a shower to wipe clean the filth that infested my mind thinking this up.

Oh and if I broke any rules I am desperately sorry and would fully support delete'ing this in the name of all that is good.

So there's a good chance Sugu will be a deconstruction of the normal appeal of the archetype by being scary as hell.

Isn't Kirito attracted to scary though?

In a void? Probably. Audience generally isn't. His sister though seems emotionally abusive so any potential sexual or romantic tension is likely to be one sided and deliberately unattractive to the audience.

It's...like you can do the scene where Asuna threatens Lisbeth and it's funny(Then she burns the shop, and it's hilarious) but if she did the same basic thing to kirito it would make the relationship unpalatable.

Honestly, my take on Sugu was that she and Kirito were cut from the same cloth, just with a different 'inciting indictment' of some sort. Well less incidents and more place on the social hierarchy.

Kirito was a very smart nerd who is terrible as socializing and can't defend himself very well, so gets bullied an derided.

Sugu is a bit less clear, though it could be tied to their grandfather based on what I heard from of him in canon, or the fact she's a girl who's super into and good at sports and so ends up isolated just like Kirito.

So both of them took out their frustrations on those around with an overlay of massive ego to justify/defend themselves from emotional vulnerability.

People have been suggesting that Suguha would be the opposite online but gods I hope that's not the route they take. I'd prefer she find out Kirito's identity almost immediately then use her anonymity to heckle him to hell and back. If they want to retain the incest angle, then I suggest it being a farce as a test of character. See if he really is devoted to Asuna to not be tempted away. The final duel being the ultimate test of course so that when he finally bests her, she's all "You've passed." then spills all the details about her plot.

Also I felt that while the twitter gag didn't have as much punch to Kirito being escorted out, I felt it was better as not only did it provide a nice transistion but also the latter is a little too expected y'know?

Huh. Kirito being a nerdy, egotistic asshole when he's online suddenly makes a lot more sense now, given who he was raised with.

Man I'm glad I never finished SAO. I mean, god, it didn't seem like they really needed to turn up the creep factor for Sugou all that much, going by the actual animated stuff. That being said, the Abridged series continues to be pretty top-notch, I'm looking forward to the rest of it.

Sugou is much more disturbing than I remember. Not really but like- the Asuna voice mimicing just to fuck with Kirito was

10/10 A+ would 'jesus fuck no' internally again

I have absolutely no interest in SAO as a thing beyond it being a fun idea, but SAO Abridged gives me life.

Granted, having episodes about a long as those of the show stretches the definition of Abridged a bit. :p

Sorry, Funimation outdid any stretching of Abridged or Official when they dubbed Dangan Ronpa 3.
