sorry need to negate this, This is not a fighting style in any way nor is the whip sword mastery. They are just proficiency in that style. Also the whip sword is more mid range and when an enemy gets in close you will need to have some ability to fight back. Finally Hand to hand combat is not pure brute force especially if you get a fighting style similar to judo or the like, letting you beat the enemy with your higher Agi stat.
First we have a high ac this we will get a lot more benefits from the spells.
Second dust casting will be useful as our semblance is not a directly offence one.

Ahh in extreme close range I've got a master plan I like to call "retreat and blast the enemy with overwhelming fire power", then if you can't retreat blast it with overwhelming firepower while grappled consequences be dammed.
Though on the part about hand to hand fighting the fact we will find someone to teach us such a style raises the value of the plan quite a bit (not enough to change my vote but enough that it's much closer) however how often will we use hand to hand combat compared to aura casting
Not too mention how much more aura spells can be used for.

Walking up the the redhead Lux takes a moment as the remaining crowd rushes by delaying him, causing him some annoyance. By the time they passed though The redhead had fallen backwards onto the Schnee's luggage cart and she was busy berating her while shaking a dust vial in her face.

Moving up rather swiftly compared to his normal sedate pace Lux grabs the vial out of the heiresses hand and begins to give her some words of his own.
"Hey! how dare you!" The little Schnee said before Lux cut her off as he used his Dustcasting to move the cloud away from the redhead. Turning to her he gave the Schnee a taste of his Semblance causing her to back off a bit in fear.
"You're right, this is dust. Which is why shaking small clouds of it into peoples faces is EXTREMELY dangerous. Little red here was about to sneeze which would have caused the little cloud your shaking had created to explode possibly setting off all the other vials in the case you are holding killing the both of you." Lux stated giving her a glare. "Now why don't you go back to what you were doing and I can handle dealing with little red ok?"
Nodding hastily the schnee backed off and began pulling her cart along again as Lux turned back to little red.
"You alright there red?" Lux asked offering red a hand.
"Yes, thank you and please don't call me red. It brings back some bad memories." She said grabbing the hand and getting up.
"Ah well then, what should I call you? The name is Lux, Lux Vanta by the way." "Ruby, Ruby Rose, By the way is that a whip sword on your back?" Ruby asked as she leaned towards it eyes shining. "It is! and it even has dust capability! When did you build it? are you looking into improving it in any way?" Leaning in further forcing you to poke her forehead to knock her out of it as you raised an eyebrow in mild amusement.
"No I did not build it, I got it off the corpse of one of the hunters defending Mountain Glen when the upper city fell years ago. Without it I never would have made it away from there alive." "oh I am so sor..!" "Its ok, It happened years ago I am well over it. I am curious however, I know your face from somewhere but I can't fully place where.... were you ever on the Holo-net recently?"
"I well... maybe? I did stop Roman Torchwick from committing a crime a few days ago." Ruby stated shuffling on her feet a bit.
"Ah that would explain why i recognized you. I would assume that would be why you were offered a place in Beacon? Impressive for someone your age. Hmm, it's getting close to the time for the assembly would you like to come with me there and tell me a bit about how you stopped the criminal?" Lux asked with a satisfied smile.
"Yes! I mean... uh, please thank you, I don't actually know where to go." Ruby said rubbing a hand behind her head.
"Do you mind if I come too?" The Blonde who was throwing up earlier asked. "Sure!" Ruby said before looking to Lux. "I mean if your fine with it." Lux nodded before walking and listening as she told the story about how she beat Torchwick.
"..... And then I shot a few times at the Bullhead with Crescent Rose before the lady sent out a bunch of fire attacks underneath us and forced us to back off before getting away!" Ruby shouts excitedly. "Then she took me to and interview office at the police station and lectured me before Ozpin came and invited me to Beacon!"
"Wow thats amazing! You were able to fight side by side one of the teachers?" the now named Juane stated.
"Indeed it is impressive, though the weapon you built sounds even more impressive. Do you mind showing us crescent Rose?" Lux asked.
"Sure!" Ruby shouted taking out her baby. "Whoah! thats a big scythe!" Juane shouted. "Its also a customizable high-impact velocity Sniper rifle." "A wha?" "Its also a gun." "Oh. Thats cool!" "So what've you two got?" "Oh... well I have this sword, and the scabbard unfolds into a shield and back into a scabbard to carry it easier."
"Indeed, basic but very well made from the looks of it. The basics are such for good reason after all." Lux stated. "As for myself, I have my whip sword, I don't know the name the previous owner gave it and it felt wrong to name it with how I got it so it is nameless for now."
Lux Took out his sword showing off that form before unfolding it into its whip form and swinging it around skillfully for a moment.
"It is also capable of channeling the dust that is put into the slot at the hilt here." He stated point out the slot before activating the dust and showing the glow for a moment with another few quick swings. "As you can imagine it greatly empowers my attacks when I do that."
"Cool!" Both Ruby and Juane shouted as they reached a building with big wooden doors in front of it.
"Oh, it looks like we have arrived. Well it was fun talking to you." Lux stated with a slight smile.
"Indeed it was and thank you for your help. See you later Ruby, Lux." Juane said before walking off.
"Oh, you don't have to leave would you like to meet my sister?" Ruby asked with puppy eyes. "She is a first year like me! Though your own age of course."

And that ties in Intro part 2! Next is part 3 which will cover at least the Assembly and the night in the gym. If it goes further it will only go up to the morning of initiation. Initiation itself will be a 2 partner, 1 will be meeting your partner and getting to the relics and the other will be escaping the forest. After that the last part of the intro will be team assignments and moving into the dorm room as well as your first interactions with your team outside of combat.
