Revan, Once More [KOTOR/SW]

Why is everyone so into the Star Forge? I know it's basically a super-factory with unparalleled capacity for manufacturing materiel, but isn't it incredibly evil and corruptive, being steeped in the Dark Side and all that?

The KOTOR Star Forge got steeped in the Dark Side after a lot of continious use by the.. basically evil Rakatan. Their cruelty and all the other shenanigans all corrupted the Star Forge with Dark Side energy.

Even then, the Light Side of the Force can still make it work, and it does so in-game if I recall. You can get Lightside Robes from the Forge if I recall.

Anyway, the one we'd make wouldn't end up with too much of either side of the Force.. cos too much of either side is bad ya'll.

There's a just as much wrong with the light as there is the dark side. It's just less obvious then the dark side. One just needs to look at the jedi order in the prequels to see it.
If they are equally problematic in their usage why does Revan keep the Dark Side in bondage?

The issues with the prequel Jedi Order originate not from an inherent problem with the Light Side, but from the Jedi Order having 1000 years of peace to make them overly focused on how well an individual member is following the rules of the Jedi Code, also the 4000+ years of tradition/writing probably didn't help the matter. I'd expand upon this point further, but I'm heading to bed.
She felt the slithery power of the Dark Side within her attempt to slip it's bonds, but she did not let it. She would not allow it free, she could not. She felt Taris again, and Duros and Duxun and all the other worlds she had felt burn through the Force. All the lives she had felt extinguished, all the lives she had ended.

Because the dark side is a much faster corruption and easier to loose your self into quicker then the lightside is? Over use of the light side leads to closed mindness and being unable to relate to normal people.

While yes this is part of the issue the light side also encourages this kind of mind set. It also causes them to see things as black and white. Same with the dark side really.

There's nothing wrong with the light...

Yes there is.

They're both aspects of the Force.

Too much of either is bad for you.

Too much Dark Side and you corrupt yourself, as seen in the damage that accumulates on your body, and the eyes. Too much Light and you're potentially locking your emotions away and becoming an emotionless robot.

Do recall that the Jedi meditate and cast aside their emotions to delve deeper into the Light Side and achieve "harmony" with it. Delve too deep and achieve too much harmony with the Light side and you'd be lacking emotions.

Why not Korriban? Revan's (ex)Sith, she might know of something useful that might've survived. Also, some of her empire's secret supply caches could be still around.

Sorry, but that is bullshit and goes against all canon we have. light=good dark=bad, that is it.after all there is no such thing as light side corruption, but you have dark side corruption as a canonical fact!

Still, we might need the Quest Master to clarify this point, just for clarity's sake and to avoid devolving the thread into a star wars debate

Which is why Yoda the grandmaster of the Order was lacking in emotions, or Nomi Sunrider one of the greatest Jedi Knights of all time was an emotionless robot, or the many light side users whose thoughts we can read act like emotionless robots.

it's not the light that strips away emotions, it's over conservative masters ruled by their fear of the darkness that teach their students to lock away their hearts.

Adding on to this:
The Mandalorians.

Considering we got temporally displaced, we never gave Canderous the Mask, so it should be still hidden on whatever planet we hid it on. We go there, grab the Mask of Mandalore, give it to Canderous, and have him rally the Mandalorians to him. Honestly might even manage to snag us Boba Fett, considering even though he's a Bounty Hunter, he's not exactly completely loyal to the Empire, and he highly respects the Mandalorian Culture... He does hate Jedi though..

We might even be able to rally the Echani to us if they still revere Revan as this "epitome of a warrior".. if we want to go guns blazing "HEYO WE'RE REVAN BOYO"

Also, here's a question, how hard would it be for Revan to get a new Star Forge constructed? He should be pretty intimate with blueprints of the Star Forge or the like..
Hadn't thought about the Mandalorians. There's probably some room for recruiting them as well, though I wouldn't trust the Mask to be a silver bullet- either it's been found in the last 4000 years, or someone else made a new one. I just can't see the Mandalorians going millenia without having a bunch of people claiming the title of Mandalore, and if the current holder has a mask 2000 years old, having a 4000 year old mask won't necessarily change things.

Still, if nothing else, we can hire some as mercenaries. We might also want to consider detaching Canderous to see how far he can get; give him a few years, he could potentially get himself named Mandalore all by his lonesome.

As for the Echani....don't really know anything about them in the Empire era. It's an inner rim world though, so open rebellion is probably out of the question, at least for now; still might be worth setting up a cell there if possible. With 4000 years past, Revan and Yusanis are literally ancient history, but assuming the communication through combat remains a thing, winning some recruits through a few duels could have potential.

As for a new Star Forge....can't really see it happening. Revan might be able to fix a fragment, get a small assembly line or something on that scale if there were any large intact pieces left, but finding one of those is going to be difficult, to say the least. Still, if fragments of the Star Forge were knocked as far afield as Rakata prime, it's possible there might be some resting on the Ocean floor. Finding something that wasn't grabbed by someone in the 4000 year interim might be difficult though.

I like the way you write Revan @Tekomandor.

[x] - Now is not the time to act. You must not be obvious or blatant, even though this is an opportunity. There will be others. Steal a shuttle and escape the system.
-[x] But not before blowing up the ship. No evidence of your existence should fall into enemy hands.
