Raising a Monster

[X] Meet Ms. Rivauld after school: Time to get an (actual) friend. (Improve Ms. R SL)
+She might be some sort of vampire or ghoul, but it's a start.
[X] Go shopping: You've got some cash. Wouldn't hurt to spend a little bit of it. (Spend Money to purchase items or food)
+We need food ASAP.
[X] Call Chester over for a playdate: He's her first friend, it would be a shame to keep them apart. (???)
+Let her do the "investigation" job.

I think she is a succubus which just doesn't effect us due to Ana.

Oh no, Howard is vulnerable to Supernatural Seduction, just not Sanity loss.

Basically, you can stare Cthulu in the face and not have your head explode, but will probably fall under a Succubus' spell if you don't roll high enough. Or have insufficient mental defenses.

[X] Take Anastasia out somewhere: You can't keep her cooped up in the house forever. (Raise Trust/Satiety with Child even more. May cost Money depending on where you go)
-[X] Write in...(Be reasonable)
-[X] Go watch a movie with Anastasia at the local movie theater. (Wall-E would be my preference, leave it up to author's choice otherwise.)

[X] Call Chester over for a playdate: He's her first friend, it would be a shame to keep them apart. (???)

Hope this fits the options and requirements.

Day 10
Howard Class Roll: 62 + 15 = 77 High Success

Your luck holds out yet again, with most of the class paying attention to you throughout the whole day. But the highlight of the day had to be when you told everyone to read their speeches.

The current lesson you were on focused on writing a paper on something that the students were passionate about. Then they would all stand up and read the speeches out loud to the entire class, while everyone else took notes. Being honest, you were expecting a lot of nervous people and hardly any hands being raised.

Instead, you found yourself running out of time and having to postpone the rest of the speeches until tomorrow, since the entire class wanted to speak today!

Most of them were on things like volunteer work, books and authors they love, or their families, but it was obvious everyone put some effort into each one. You think you even picked up some pointers yourself from listening to them.

(Orator Upgraded to Novice!)

Ms. Rivauld SL Roll: 3 High Fail

Then…..you tried to hang out with Ms. Rivauld.

No, not tried.

Utterly failed at.

You were standing outside the entrance to the school, fidgeting with your tie as you stood in the setting sun. You remember Ms. Rivauld saying that she hung out around here from 4 to 6. So, you decided to wait here until she showed up.

Earlier you noticed how everyone returned to treating you the same way they used to. That is to say, not giving you thumbs up and glaring at you with hateful stares. You were happy about that, shows that the rumors about the two of you had finally died down to almost non-existent levels. You even remember one of the other female teachers, Mrs. Jones you think, apologized to you after class for her unprofessional behavior!

Things were finally starting to lookup!

Then you ran into Ms. Rivauld while she was walking through the door.

You're not 100% sure what happened. You may have tripped on her shoes, she may have gotten her legs tangled up in yours, who can say?

But no one can argue the result.

That being you, holding Ms. Rivauld around her waist, while dipping her forwards as if the both of your were in a ballet recital, with your faces dangerously close together!

In front of just about all of your co-workers, who hooted and hollered at you while you were holding her. Not only that, but her rather large sun hat hid both of your faces from the onlooking crowd, further fueling their depraved imaginations.

One slap to the cheek, and a scathing stare from just about every female present later, and you had no questions as to whether she tolerated you or outright hated you.

Because right now, it's going towards the latter.

Oh, and the rumors have started up again.

Joy.

Ana Class Roll: 68 + 5 = 73 High Success

Today, you and Chester built a sand temple during recess (after you explained to him why a Temple was more important than a Castle). It was rather thrilling, though you do wish that you could've made it out of stone. Well, you could, but it would draw some unwanted attention.

You noticed that many of the other children tried their best to avoid the both of you. You see them give you dirty looks when they think you aren't looking, or hear conversations whispered behind your backs. Most of them follow the same pattern of dialogue. "Why's she hanging out with him?" "Isn't that the new kid?" "He's weird. Why would she want to play with him?"

You're pretty sure Chester could hear them too. He bristled at every word they said, hair standing on end as you both finished the temple. After dusting yourselves off, Chester started to say something, but you stopped him. You guessed it was along the lines of, "You don't have to let me drag you down socially." You made sure he understood that you did not care what any of those simpletons thought or said. You chose him to be the one you hung out with, simply as that.

He beamed at that, a smile lighting up his face all the way back to the classroom.

You also learned that people seem to trust you more when you tell them that you, quote "Have their backs," so to speak. You file this away for later, as you're sure it will come in handy in the long run.

(New Perk Gained: Put your trust in me)

Chester Playdate Roll: 4 High Fail

Soon the bell rung, and all of the other children ran out of the front doors. You, however, walked out side by side with Chester. Your hands were held behind your back as you walked. You found that people tended to take you more seriously when you did that, as it made you look more educated to them. You look over at Chester and smile, "So, Chester?"

He jumps a bit, probably still unused to your treatment of him as a friend, "Yeah, Ana? Can I call you Ana?"

You nod in response, "I was wondering, would you like to—"

"CHESTER HARROWMONT! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"

You both come to a screeching halt bodies going rigid at the loud, rumbling voice that seems to pierce through the field of noise that is school getting out right to the both of you. You, of course, don't shiver at the voice like your companion does. You're almost certain you can physically see him trying and failing to make himself seem as small as possible. You just stand firm and keep your expression as passive as possible.

It isn't long before you see a woman and man, who you guess are Chester's mother and father, walking towards your position in the middle of the sidewalk that leads into the parking lot of the school.

Well, the father is walking, though rather brusquely. The mother is more along the lines of what you would call bolting. If it weren't for your enhanced senses, you wouldn't be able to see her moving towards you at all probably. This is confirmed, as she rushes by some of the other kids on the sidewalk and all they notice is a slight breeze on the wind. As it is though, you're easily able to see the small dog ears poking out of the top of her shoulder length black hair. Must be where Chester gets it from. You also notice, when she stops in front of the both of you, her pointed nose on an otherwise flat face. Strange. Chester's nose was slanted last time you checked. Must have come from his father.

You are just about to introduce yourself, when Chester is snatched up (literally) by his mother and held away from you protectively, "Stay away from him!"

You make an effort to look offended, "Whatever do you mean, Ms. Harrowmont?"

"Oh, Chester! Are you ok?! Did she hurt you!? Physically or mentally?!" Aaaaaaand she's gone into doting mother mode. Fantastic.

The father arrives shortly after, and yes his nose is indeed slanted. His face is rather...rough you think the expression is. It's one of those faces that seems to be put into a permanent frown, yet gives you the feeling that the person behind the mask is the exact opposite. Though the way he's looking at you now, you wouldn't think that.

"Mom!" Chester protest while he squirms against his mother's long black coat (why do both of his parents have on those on anyway? It's the middle of summer!), "I'm fine. I was just hanging out with Ana."

She seems very distraught at this, evident by the fact that she puts a hand over Chester's mouth to silence him, "Don't speak it's name! That's what they want you to do!"

You cough to gain their attention, "Excuse me. I don't believe we have met. My name is Anastasia Craft. A pleasure to meet you both," you extend your hand in a way of greeting.

Not only do neither of them take it, but you're pretty sure they growl at you in unison. Annoyed, but not by much, you let your hand fall back down to your side. "I'm not sure, what it is I did to cause you such distress, but—"

"Don't try to act cute! We know what you are!"

"I can see that, but interrupting me is still a rude thing to—"

"Come on, honey! We're going home!" with that she turns around and starts to fast walk over to their vehicle, a white sedan. Chester looks at you over his mother's shoulder and waves as he effectively dragged away.

The father is still there, and he's staring at you with exceedingly intense eyes. You give him just as intense stare, not even flinching when they flash yellow for a split second. Afterwards, he turns around, following his wife.

You can't resist saying, "Oh yes. Please tell your wife her ears are showing!" as they walk away. The wife's sudden leap to cover her head with one arm is priceless.

Soon they get in their car and drive off towards the east part of the neighborhood. You notice a couple of children are still staring at you, and you give them a cold glare. They scamper off soon after.

Well, this has...complicated matters.

"You ok, Ana honey?"

[Trust Check: Pass]

Ahh. There's that honey sweet voice of your big oaf of a father. You smile and take his hand in yours as you walk towards your vehicle.

"Yes, just a bit of social trouble," you admit while straightening your skirt with your free hand.

Your sighs in agreement, "Yeah. Same here."

"Want to talk about it after we go to the store?"

"Sure thing, sweetie."

Recon Chester before trying to mend ties. Less chance of fucking up that way. And resupply our food since it's out.

Ana tries out the TV, since she hadn't done that before.
