Quest Idea Thread

What do you intend as the timespan and setting of this quest in terms of where earth shows up? As well as the general scope of the quest?

Timespan wise. Turns last I wanna say five in game years. First contact happens sometime during or after the Naboo blockade where turns will be cut down to half or one year in game all the way until the empire collapses. Scope wise? Your basically just gonna make earth remain independent all the way until the empire collapses which is when the game will end.

How will the format work? Will it have standardized turns with sections to make choices in like other nation-games or something more free-form?

I'm leaning towards the nation format with a CK-2 style divided into a few sections such as colonization, R&D, diplomacy, military, government and infrastructure. Though I could put the colonization option in the infrastructure section.

Well that depends, how prominent of a role will it play? Also I assume this will be a united earth we are playing, what will be the starting situation/tech level? Sorry I'm asking too many questions.

Tech level wise it's 2200. Sol is properly colonized and your just now expanding outside of it, FTL wise it's wormhole tech but slower than hyperspace but you will find some tech littered about and maybe even an occasional primitive species.

As for role itself. Totally up to the players if they want it to go down a minor power route or something similar to like that of major power

That's right folks, this is an idea for a CK2-Themed Shrek quest! Where you play as Shrek and turn your swamp into a town for fairytale creatures and fight back against the evil Lord Farquaad who wants to get rid of everyone of fairy tail origins, this includes you! Recruit heroes like Puss in Boots, Gingerbread Man, The Big Bad Wolf and other fairy tail creatures to protect your fellow non-humans and build up your swamp/kingdom!

If someone does adopt this, and the questors manage to subsequently win, I can easily imagine Shrek's 'Castle' being a massive, partially rotted out tree in the centre of a vast swamp, itself also part of the castle to an extent.

PilafQuest

Within the world of Toonami Villains Victorious, Emperor Pilaf isn't as happy as one would expect! It's hard to rule the world with so much competition when all you have is a castle and two bumbling minions! However, if there's one positive you can give Pilaf, it's endless determination, so he continues his crusade to rule the world! But how successful can be truly be in this strange new world?

Not sure whether Shu and Mai would be the Starting Hero Unit or a Trait for Pilaf

I'm currently updating my quest, tallying the votes from the starting round. It just occurred to me that of the varieties of Link across the library of recent Zelda titles (TotK, Hyrule Warriors, BotW), while the one I added to the quest is game specific (thread tags), I really want to have the following gimmick:

edit, inserted into quest update!

Does anyone remember a quest where you played as an Orc Mercenary who served under the Dwarf High King, returning to his homeland to try and make his own Orcish kingdom?

A Shonen tournament arc organizer quest. Pick out the fighters trying out from around the world, have marketing, choose and entice possible sponsors, make the crowds happy with food and souvenirs, brainstorm creative arenas and challenges, and sniff out cheaters and corruption within your own organization while maybe making some bets of your own on the side.

had a brief intro for a KND/X-COM quest

You are Numbuh 682, a member of the Kids Next Door. Recent leadership changes have put a new boss, Numbuh 823 in charge as Supreme Leader. They have shaken up some of the longstanding facts of the KND. You are head of a new program, a cross-Sector strike team meant to undertake dangerous, time critical missions against adult tyranny and teen interference. For now, you've only what you've managed to squeeze out of the tight fists of the Quartermaster. This amounts to a single squad of 5 troops, some scientists on the edge of decommissioning, a D.R.O.P.S.H.I.P, and some basic gear. You're currently located out of a treehouse in Sector Q, located in the American Midwest, sharing it with the local team, who don't take kindly to your being colocated.

The world is plagued by the Blightstorm, a vile cycle of destruction ravaging the world every twenty years. From the volcanic fastness of the Smoldering City, the last refuge in the Drowning World, the Queen's Viceroys sally forth to reestablish outposts of civilization and secure desperately needed resources.

You are not the Viceroy. You are the Mayor the Viceroy appointed to run the outpost while they marched and conquered deeper into the Drowning World. Keep the peace, pay the tithes, and don't attract the ire of the Crown.

An Against the Storm city manager/CKII(?) quest wherein one manages the factions and demographics of the settlement, the logistical needs of one's Viceroy, the demands of the Smoldering City, and the ever-encroaching threats of the resentful Forest. A sharp time limit is imposed by the Blightstorm, with worsening weather and shorter growing seasons as the end of the cycle approaches, eventually forcing an evacuation to the City.

Now if only I can find a guide on how CKII quests work...and the time/brain cells to run it.

Sounds like a fun quest concept, will definitely join if you make it.

A Kirby quest in Jujutsu Kaisen where everyone's favorite pink good boi steamrolls and derails the storyline. Debating on either in the past for Jojo's Past Arc, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 or around modern times to save Junpei. All will fear the pink fluffball and the nonsense he brings.

... Hm. How about a Dragon-Blooded Dynasty quest?

Not in the 'you are a dragon-blooded' sense, but in the 'you manage the family a la a god game' sense... or maybe as a house matriarch.

You're driven from Thorns at its fall and into the scavenger Lands. Whether an Outcaste, a disgraced Dynast, or a loyalist to Thorns, you set up a base of power for yourself and begin a plan generations in the making to build a grand army and retake Thorns. And you, your children, and your children's children will lead the charge.

When I was discussing Deeb game concepts with some friends, we had the idea for a generational Deeb game where at the end of E3 we'd swap over to our character's children. One of the ideas was to have retaking Thorns as a long-term campaign goal, and one of the images evoked by another player was that the latest generation would fight the deathknights, their parents would destroy juggernaut, and the E5 grandparents would fight the Mask of Winters personally. Which was such a cool mental image.

Only me and one other player were really up for it, tho. So I might just keep that in my back pocket for another day.

Had a stupid idea.

A Lets make a Spartan/supersoldier Plan quest.

Only its in Mass Effect. and without the humans.

Yep its the council races Plus quarians attempts to build a super soldier... before the Reapers show up. :V
