Putting the Craft in Warcraft

Scourge: Horde intervention
[X] Fate point for the Tuskarr Route
[X] Chen to the Alliance
Wiped out > Total Rout > Rout > Stalemate > Costly Victory > Victory > Total Victory

Previous:
-Alliance Suffers Rout in Northrend (Jania's presence prevents Total Route. Casualties manageable.)
-Horde Forces suffer Total Rout in Northrend (Elite Armaments prevent Wipe. Drakkari cripple Loa unexpectedly, and inflict horrendous casualties with the increased power.)
-Draconic forces Stalemate Scourge Forces (Projects done for them prevent Scourge from entering Dragonblight at all)
-Nymphs Rout from Western Front (Organized retreat as Nerubian Forces collapse)
-Tuskarr Suffer Total Route (Forces outside Dragonblight are shattered)

Alterations have done the following:
-Alliance able to barracade themselves in their Northrend fort. Stalement. (Jania and Chen manage to prevent the unexpected attack from cuasing severe damage. Alliance presence in the area will persist for the moment. )
-Tuskarr Suffer Route (Forces outside Dragonblight are able to flee as your apprentices manage to create several emergency boats. They sink afterwards, but the Tuskarr have maintained their presence.)

"Shoulda been back at the base. Should still get over there." Leon mutters as you curse and slam something on the airship controls.

Unity is a fantastic ship. Top of the line, and highest quality. She's also a finicky thing that requires your personal attention frequently, especially after being used. You are good, but the entire thing is made up of thousands of moving parts. It's worth the hassle, but the simple fact is that unless you go with it, the thing just won't work.

"Reports are that your people are holding." Tyrygosa stops channeling her spell and smiles briefly. "Jainia and the wanderer Chen are holding for now."

The arcane matrixes of Unity roar to life, and the thing lurches as it readies itself. "All right, prep's done."

"Well then." Leon rolls his shoulders, and gives a smile at the rest of the crew. "Are the ladies ready to kick some undead ass?"

"We're going to burn them!" The nymphs that are coming with cheer and wave their spears.

"Now that's what I'm talking about." Leon laughs and you roll your eyes as you hit the throttle on Unity.

The airship doesn't have the conventional rotors that the standard gnomish construction has. The lift and ease of creation was nice, but you wanted something with more power. Elemental and Arcane power intertwined was the best solution you could find. A central arcane crystal provided the life, and the engines of fire and wind provided the thrust.

The result was something that roared as it left your workshop, and went faster than anything else in the sky. What should have been a long trip of days was reduced to hours. Unity shook and shuddered as you increased the throttle, and the landscape sped past.

Very quickly you were over where the Horde forces were.

And you can see why the reports were so grim. Undead are everywhere. There are hordes of them crawling across the battlefield. You can see wooden barriers everywhere as the Horde forces attempt to defend, but even as you watch one of them is brutally destroyed by a style of magic that you are not familiar with.

It's grim and horrific though, and it rips the life from the dying beings. The victim dies quickly, but you can see the arcane magic seep into the corpse and force it back up again. Binding the soul with chains and sheer black arcane power. An animation spell as horrific as you have ever seen.

The former victim and now undead slave starts to run at it's former comrades with artificial greed.

Incredibly, your airship hasn't been noticed immediately. The sounds of war combined with the frantic fighting has covered the roaring entrance. Which lets you use the other parts of Unity.

This part requires Tyrygosa, or another arcane magic user of strength.

Unity doesn't have conventional cannons. It's a slim design, and they are just too weighty to make it worth it. Instead you've lined the reinforced wooden halls with Arcanite. And setup an arcane circle right in front of your controls.

There Tyrygosa sits and closes her eyes. And channels her arcane power directly into the ship.

Unity begins to light up. You know that underneath it, several large circles are visible. The forces below are starting to notice the airship you know. But it's a bit late.

Six arcane arrays blast forth with the magnified power of one of the greatest arcane magic users in the world. They annihilate the undead. Wash them away in great scathing beams of power.

You guide Unity slowly over the battlefield, and the tides of battle start to turn. Horde forces start to rally, and you have the hope that this battle will be won quickly.

The undead seem hesitant for a moment. And then they retreat at some unseen signal.

Just like that, your personal intervention has won the battle.

You are debating whether or not to pursue when you see a few Horde start to wave at you in the distance. You frown a bit, and notice Jinji among them.

For some odd reason whenever I hear "airship" I think "blimp." Guess I don't quite get how they would stay up without the balloon part.

[X] Go down and talk with him

For each campaign, do we only get to help 1 faction at a time? when choosing where to personally intervene I mean.

I don't think this option should be underestimated. The undead are retreating and we have the potential to kill a considerable number of them and turn this from what appears to be a costly victory to something greater. We have the fire power, the surprise factor, and the advantage in that they can't harm us. Let's exploit it.

We can easily come back and see Jinji later on, once we have targeted the great masses of army and only small units remain.

Sure, killing them could be easy, but they retreated due to a signal, which means there's also an enemy commander on the enemy side. That means they could have traps and counter-measures at their defensive lines if we wonder in too far. We aren't primarily a combat unit, and Wayland and his fast-traveling ship are basically irreplaceable for this war, so why not just go down to a known ally to get up-to date information of the current situation before making hasty moves?

They may have counter measures for a normal army, but they wouldn't have been expecting us. If there is an enemy commander that is even more reason to go on the offense so we have a shot to kill them before they can come up with solutions or tactics for our aircraft.

We also do have current information, it wouldn't be surprising if we have better information than Jinjii given we are in the air and have a bird's eye perspective on the field of battle.

[X] Pursue to enemy army and do as much damage as possible. Retreat to the Hoard's position when you feel its too risky and speak to the various people who waved at you earlier.

The fake retreat tactic is something we should be worried about, especially when we don't know where the Scourge's Seige Craft are. I personally do not wish to find out how many Balista bolts it takes before the Unity turns into a falling pincushion. This is the Scourge we're talking about. The "We have all the reserves" faction. They probably aren't running to regroup.

No, they're running because they're facing an obstacle they can't combat. So we should take advantage of the opportunity this presents and do some greater damage before they actually can combat it.

[X] Send a bot with Vocorder to talk to him through your eye along with some Aid. You want ot stay in the air for rapid response.

Is our ship the Delphinius!

Do you seiously think the Burning Legion hasn't seen an airship before? Our biggest advantage was the surprise, they didn't notice us until we had pretty much started "Firin our Lazar" and probably weren't expecting reinforcements for the Horde until later. We don't have that shock value now. Let's not let these guys choose where they fight the Unity.

...If we use the chromatic ring to turn into a dragon, do we also get to travel through time if we turn into a Bronze one?
Because then we could just warn ourselves if this is a trap.
