So... I really would like the more fleshed-out vote to take the lead. Mostly because I do not like glossing over this when we actually took the time to write detailed explanations about Tami's curse three (four?) times.

@Always Late @Diomedon, I noticed that you two have not voted yet. What do you think?

---[X] But there is something wrong with Yuujin. She's taking quite strong medicine regularly.

Don't see a reason for detailed report. We are basically giving him a rundown of situation to receive his advice on a matter that only tangentially related to Matsuko and Yuujin.
I would compare it not with curse discussions, but with quick rundown we gave Auntcle after our talk with Mariko about her home situation.

Additionally, I don't know what can be added here.
A line about how we exceedingly happy to reconnect with them?
Mention that they were Kimiko's friends too and ask would it be a good idea to give them her phone number?

I have a bad habit of writing advice and then not voting myself, I will admit.

Where did that come from?

Either Yuujin is half German, or it is a play on her calm and efficient (not sure, I do not remember interactions with her much) behaviour.
It wasn't made an overt point, but Yuujin's mother is German, and father Japanese. It's in the character description:
Her father is a policeman, while her mother is a professor from Germany.

Is it bad that my train of thoughts immediately after reading this post was:
- Yuujin is taking strong meds => serious health troubles
- Yuujin's power is basically Reality Marble/Witch Barrier => wished to get away from something, maybe from her family?
- Yuujin's mother is a professor from Germany => does experiments on Yuujin :o

Hey now, we have not done that kind of thing for at least seventy years. Cut us some slack!
:V

Anyway, I doubt this is the case. Maybe she has a difficult situation at home for one reason or another, but... trouble in PMMM has the habit of not being solvable by applying fists to faces, which this scenario would be.

I think Tamiko would be good listener to help since she's a bit distant to Yuujin and current situation even if they re-establish their friendship unlike Matsuko.
Say I been out of it but are you guys really helping Kishi with that fear or pushing her shipping status?

Sorry. My mind is quite dark place.

Well, Mariko's situation too looked like it could be solved by applying fists to faces, trouble is that's not what Mariko wants.
I imagine Yuujin's situation something like this:
Yuujin managed somehow get away from her mother, but her health continues to deteriorate. She needs to stop using drugs and seek actual medical help, but she has understandable phobia of doctors.

...of course we don't even know professor of what Yuujin's mother is.
Maybe she's not a doctor at all. Maybe she's just an innocent designer of humongous mechas...

I do not know about everyone else, but I actually want to help her.
Partly because this kind of paranoia is not good for her, partly because I would like to merge Tami's circles of old and new friends properly without having to risk panic attacks, misunderstandings and worse.

Well, it has been a while since your aunt has even seen your old friends, and it shows. You haven't really caught up with them as much as you could have yourself, but keeping your aunt updated should be a no-brainer. Besides, maybe this can help with your Kishi-related dilemma!

"They've both been at this for about nine months, at least from what they told me. Yuujin's been a Magical Girl a bit longer, but I don't know anything specific about their history beyond that," you explain, summing up what you can remember them telling you. It wasn't much, to be honest, but you spent only a day catching up to them.

You wonder if you should ask them for more details later. Perhaps they have their own advice and tips to offer? You have to become better, after all.

"As for powers, though, hmm…" You pause to think. You don't really have too much insight into their powers beyond simple glimpses. "Well, Yuujin has a Reality Marble, like in that Unlimited Blade Works you got me, except a beach instead of sword-filled hills. And Matsuko, uh… I think she punches the laws of physics to teleport?"

You draw some sense of accomplishment from the minute changes in your aunt's expression. She seems genuinely surprised about your descriptions, and implies as much when she opens her mouth to comment. "Hmm, from the sounds of it, they have quite refined magic at their disposal."

"I guess so,"
you admit. "We didn't really do displays or anything. Matsuko just used teleportation out of laziness, and we visited Yuujin's Magical Girl Barrier - if I can call it that - to get away from the cold weather."

You can hear Mariko twitch on her seat at the mention of that.

"I hope they've practiced enough to be able to do their magic on the cheap," your aunt notes. "I have never met anyone with a large scale pocket dimension as their primary magic power before, but I honestly cannot imagine that being accessible without a hefty tax attached to it."

"Well, they did say that it's pretty cheap on them?"
you offer. It's another thing you don't really know. "Anyhow, they're pretty much exactly like they used to be. Matsuko's still like a cool big sis, and Yuujin… Well, she's still as Yuujin-y as always."

You pause for a moment, before flinching and adding a bit more serious observation. "Well, Matsuko got quite mad after I told her about my life during the last few years. I hadn't gotten to explain about the curse yet, and she thought you had left for no good reason."

Your aunt grimaces very noticeably at that. "All in all, I can't blame her for that."

You doubt she's hasn't felt guilty about that herself, but that's neither her or now. "Yeah… But I guess something's also up with Yuujin. She's on some sort of heavy medication, something Matsuko reminds her to take." You frown and shake your head. "Shouldn't magic heal whatever she might be suffering from? Maybe we should talk about that?"

Your aunt stays silent for a moment, as if trying to figure out how to put something as softly as possible. You don't like where that line of thought is going.

"There are some... relative limits to what magical healing can do," your aunt lets out slowly. "There are always exceptions to everything. I can't claim to know what ails Yuujin, and I do not wish to speculate without seeing anything first-hand. But it might not be a bad idea for you to talk with her all the same."

That's not very helpful, though you doubt your aunt would be willing to explain even if you asked. Plus, it's starting to get late, and you need to leave for school soon.

What do you do?

[] Last minute talks with aunt.

[] Skip to the school trip.
-[] Talk with Mariko and Kishi.

-[] Talk with Evelyn.

[] Write-in.

Alright, this should be a relatively quick day ahead of you.

If we got time we really should telepath Yuujin and Matsuko more, just to increase the bonds of friendship more.
Think we can get them as reinforcement if the Tokyo trip exploded?

[X] Skip to the school trip.
-[X] Greet Kishi in enthusiastic, but decidedly not-flirty way.
--[X] With friendly hug.
-[X] Remind the girls about a training you have after school.
--[X] Do they have something interesting to try?
--[X] You want to figure out your swords. Why you have a dozen of them? Maybe you can become knights of the Round Table... well, the Round Shield?

Before we've realized it we're at chapter 92 of Witch Vietnam.
"It ain't me, it's ain't me! I ain't no fortunate guuuuuurl!"
"The Tokyos ward, they're explodin', Witches flailin', magic slingin', you're old enough to kill but not for votin', you don't believe in war, what's that gun you're totin', and even the Jordan river has bodies floatin',"
"Ruthlessness strikes deep, into your life it will creep. It starts when you're always grievin'. Step out of line, your witch comes and take you away."
"He smiles at the young girls, tells them it's for right. He knows how they'll fear the forthcoming life. Soon they'll be blood, and they'll all die. Mothers and fathers forgetting, can't even cry."

... you sure weren't always in Vietnam?

*idle thoughts about archive binge-ing to catch back up*
*looks at wordcount*
...Only 100k less than PMAS? I don't hate myself that much right now.
