--[X] You've recently been into a little bit of sword fighting, so maybe you can teach her a thing or two sometime!
Not sure about that one.
After all, our only sword is our Magical Girl weapon. We can summon additional, yes, but can we give it to others?
Additionally, it'll remind Eve that all her friends megucas unlike her.

Bokkens are widely available, so no worries on that front. We'll just go buy somewhere once we have time since we don't have to do it today, it's more of a promise thing.

As for the MG thing, restraint is the word of the day. Tami and co. aren't running around with uncontrollable power and they're capable of holding back and physically interacting with others normally, so that shouldn't be a worry. Tami will just appear skilled for someone her age, but not inhumanly so since she still did need instruction on how2sword from the books we got.

I'm also not sure about it from the wording. I'd switch it around to "maybe you can show me a thing or two," since it would make Eve feel good about being helpful, and it might help us improve our fundamentals.

I'm a bit unsure of that. Our friends don't need to be coddled so much that Tamiko can't take genuine pride in something she's good at. Besides, the way the last line is constructed does leave an opening for a retort from the all-talented Evelyn who might know some fencing/kendo. Wouldn't surprise me with how she's been looking around for a thing that she can call hers.

Chapter 2 - The day that no one wanted 19
[X] Talk to Evelyn.
-[X] Has she found that something yet?
--[X] You've recently been into a little bit of sword fighting, so maybe you can teach her a thing or two sometime!

"At least I think so?" you offer, feeling unsure if claiming that you understand it well would be honest. Sure, you did have some trouble at first to settle on what you wanted to when you were a child. But at the same time, after you joined the soccer club and met Yuujin, you didn't feel any need to change your hobbies any longer.

Frankly, it's how you're still mostly aimless in your club activities and life in general now that offers some insight to you, and even then you doubt it's the exact same thing.

You take a sip out of your plastic cup, and smile encouragingly at Evelyn. "Have you found that something yet?"

"Nah, I'm still searching, I suppose,"
she tells you. "It doesn't really bother me much these days. I mostly just try my best in whatever I get into."

"Well, I've recently gotten myself into sword-fighting if you're interested?"
you suggest with gleaming eyes. "Maybe I could even teach you a thing or two sometime!"

"...I think I'll pass,"
Evelyn says plainly.

"Why? Do you think I'm bad a swordswoman?" you demand, putting up the most powerful pout you can muster.

"It's not that I don't respect your sword skill, far from it in fact!" the girl tries to reassure you. "It's the teaching part that has me more worried."

"...So you're telling me that I would be a bad teacher?"
you insist.

"Well, have you ever taught swordsmanship to someone?" Evelyn asks. "Like, swords are damned dangerous if someone doesn't know what they're doing."

"...Touché, Evelyn, you win this round,"
you admit begrudgingly, your mind travelling back to miss Cathy and her rather violent teaching methods. Those would work so much worse with blade, you'd warrant. And besides that, "Well, and I really need to look for that club myself. I seem to constantly put if off for later with everything else going on."

"I've noticed,"
Evelyn answers wryly, and glances over you to catch up to what the others are doing. You follow suit immediately after.

Ami seems to have been engaged by a curious-looking Kishi. You dare not to eavesdrop what it is, though, but some words do seep through and you can make out the names of your old friends and you being mentioned. Is Kishi perhaps asking embarrassing stories about you? How could she, after specifically telling you it's not okay!

Mariko meanwhile is hard-pressed by a very insistent Ariane, who seems to have decided to not let the girl be alone for a second. You can get behind that principle, for the last thing Mariko needs is be left to her own devices.

What do you do?

Well, aside from what you can gleam about what your friends are talking about, I'm kind of using this point to smooth out some gaps in NPC characters' knowledge and bring some of them up to speed :V.

What do you guy think: Eromanga Sensei pout, or Hagana pout?:V

*snrk* I wouldn't say she's doing that. Intentionally.

Ah, good. Hopefully without more... 'misunderstandings'.

Placeholder vote, am tempted to eavesdrop on Kishi but can't think of a way to bribe everyone from sabotaging our attempt.

-[X] Well, if she doesn't want us teaching her anything, how about she teaches us instead! Like with our homework or soccer if we have the time.

"Like, swords are damned dangerous if someone doesn't know what they're doing."
That's why you give them training swords, not the ones made for stabbing people, along with some safety equipment or in our case, magic. The goal is a recreational activity, not an actual battlefield skill. The rejection smells of something else to me, but it's best we leave it alone for now.

Still, sad to see that Tamiko-Senpai won't be coming true anytime soon. :(

Mariko and Ariane are literally right next to each other. Is it time to inform the last 2 people about our curse?

I doubt this is a good time right now. Everyone is busy with their own conversation and we have a free evening to do this.

Hm... something about this is off, but I can not put my finger on it.
Does Eve know Tamiko used to play soccer? I do not think she mentioned it before...

I don't recall Tami ever mentioning that she used to play soccer, but she did used to be part of the football club. No idea how good Tami is though. That said, I'm gonna edit the vote.

I like this plan. It's a good group activity that doesn't touch upon MG stuff.

You shake your head at the display, and turn your attention back to Evelyn. You don't really get the chance to talk with her like this very often, and not about things like these. Either there's something else going on, or you just don't feel like it when the time comes.

It's criminal, really.

But as you now have the chance to just talk, why not take it? Besides, you're not ready to give in on shared hobbies just yet!

"But hey, if you don't want me to teach you anything... Then how about we teach the others how to play soccer when we find the time?" you ask, inching closer to your friend. "I'll have you know that I was part of the school soccer club back in the day! I like to think that I did pretty good as a winger."

"Huh, that sounds pretty nice,"
Evelyn comments slowly, before falling quiet for a moment. She seems as if she's trying to figure out how to say something without it coming across offensive. Unfortunately, you think you can guess just why that it. "I suppose it would actually be pretty fun to play as a group at some point?"

"Right?"
you ask, enthusiastically nodding along to the point.

"But I don't see the point in 'teaching' them," the girl continues. "Soccer is something you're supposed to just enjoy, not just learn, being a very simple game by itself with friends. Even if you don't know how to play, you'll learn by the thrill of doing it yourself!"

You huff and pout again. "But I really wanted to be the Tamiko-sensei..."

"Oh, you can be! Just… keep in mind that teaching something to someone is not quite the same thing as letting them discover the joy of it by themselves,"
Evelyn explains. "I'm probably making a mountain out of molehill here, but it just occurred to me here."

"I see,"
you moan regretfully.

"Still, I really want to ask… Did you enjoy playing soccer?" Evelyn asks you.

"Of course I did!" you exclaim, feeling a bit miffed at the implications.

"Well, yeah… But I meant, like, really enjoy it? Not as only a hobby, but something you feel passionate about?" she asks you. "Did you look forward to each moment you could spend on the field? Did you chase after the ball like your life depended on it? And were you able to just lose yourself into the thrill of the game?"

You pause to think, drawing from your memories of the days you spent playing. Though the fleeting images and sensations are more vague than you'd like… You feel a certain sense of longing when you think about the girls of the team, and how in the dressing room you could sit back with Yuujin, and bask in the feelings of having worked yourself to the ground because you were into it.

Those were truly great days. Even when you were crushed by a defeat, it was still something to feel intensely about.

So you nod, smiling a little. "Yeah, I did."

"Maybe you should go and give it a try again then?"
Evelyn suggests. "It's be a shame to let go of something you can enjoy like that, don't you think?"
