[x] Thank goodness it's over. Is everyone okay?
[x] Gem check everyone. Heal and cleanse everyone with the seed as necessary.
[x] Hug Kishi. She was worried about you...
[x] Ask Kishi if she's ever seen griefseeds like this.
[x] That was exhausting. If nothing comes up, stumble back to your apartment with Mariko and Kishi in tow.
You blink at the sight before you and close your eyes. You're going to have to agree with Mariko's previous assessment about witches being so much nicer when you can just go and hit them in the face. A small but widening smile enters your face as well, as you're hit by a palpable sense of relief from having made it.
You almost start to laugh at the sheer scope of it, only to be stopped by a very sudden and keen pain emanating from your body. The few guffaws turn into pained coughs instead, and you force yourself on your knees.
"Th-thank goodness… It's over," you groan out without diminishing your grin by one bit. "Is everyone okay?"
There's a flash of red before your eyes from Kishi dropping her transformation, and kneeling right next to you. "I-I am." Her expression shows that she is utterly unamused by the situation. "Y-you, however, a-are not!"
Well, you can't really disagree there? Your everything's at the very least aching from some injury or another. "Eh he heh… yeah, I know," you stammer awkwardly. "Uh, quick cleanses first? And then healing?"
You reach out and pick up the seed next to you with clumsy movements. Comparing it to the size of your hand confirms what you thought previously about its bigger size. You might need to ask about that later.
"Well, allow me to lend a helping hand. The injuries are… well, kind of on me," Mariko pipes in, crouching on your other side to a flash of purple. You nod gratefully at her, and follow suit with your own detransformation. You grab your falling Soul Gem with your free hand, and put it near the seed, motioning for the others to follow.
Tamiko grief: 913/2000
Kishi grief: 494/1300
Mariko grief: 750/1500
Summing it up, you definitely used a lot of magic there, and you're about to use a lot more for the healing. You can't help but hope that the bigger seed means more cleansing as well, because this is going to take up a lot.
"On a count of 3… 2… 1…"
All of you click your Soul Gems against the seed at the same time. All at once all of your worries are drained away, leaving you with a sense of easiness and lightness.
The seed is barely half-filled from that. You're actually impressed by that. Perhaps it was some sort of super witch or something?
"Alright, I'll start healing up now," you announce awkwardly, dropping the seed and transforming again to free up your hands. A white glow covers them as you press them against your stinging face first.
Mariko moves her hand above your shoulder and joins the healing project, while carefully avoiding touching you. Kishi lays her hands on your stomach instead. You can feel the pain leave your body before all the coordinated healing, and after it no longer stings when you move, you ask your friends to stop.
"Alright, I'm good!" You can let the rest heal naturally. "Let's cleanse again, just in case." You pick up the seed once again, and first press it against the Gem on your chest. The relief is not as exhilarating this time, but you didn't have as much of grief pile up from the healing.
Kishi and Mariko take quick rounds, before returning it.
"A-are we done here?" Kishi asks.
"Well, for the most part?" you suggest, smiling brightly. "But first…"
You reach up and bring her into the tight hug you've desperately needed the entire afternoon. And given how worried she always ends up when you're fighting witches, that's probably mutual. "See, I'm here, I'm fine, we're all fine!"
Kishi groans in response, but still hugs you back.
"...O-one of these days," Kishi mutters quietly. "I-I'll have to get a personal hamster ball for you..."
"Uh, that's a bit excessive, don't you think?" you ask worriedly. You know you're not too good at the whole self-preservation thing, but it can't be that bad?
"N-no."
"Say, it's a nice weather out here? What do you think?" A bit red Mariko interrupts you, and coughs into her fist. She looks very awkward, the way she just stands there and fails to ignore you. "I really hate to break the moment, but… You know."
You don't. But you can guess that looking at you is awkward from the side. Maybe you should have hugged her too? She really needs a lot of those.
"Uh, right," you wave back airily, letting go of Kishi. "We should probably get going, and…" You pause for a moment as you remember the grief seed still cradled in your hand. "Actually, before we do anything, have you ever seen a seed like this? Is it just me, or is it much bigger than usually?"
Kishi gives the trinket a long, hard look. She's frowning. "N-no, I don't think I-" she shakes her head. "I-it's a grief seed, I think. B-but I haven't run into different ones before."
"Ditto," Mariko agrees with a shrug of her shoulders. "Maybe ask the adults?"
"That's probably the best bet," you say, putting it away for now and rising to stand. You're going to sleep well tonight. "So, how about we just get going? I mean, uncle's making dinner if you'd like?"
There are no objections to this, and you're soon roof-hopping your way back to your apartment after a long, tiring day. The sight of the empty stairwell is a welcome one, and at the door you're already greeted by the seeping aroma of the precious, precious dinner.
Inside, you're greeted by the warmth of your well-lit home, and the sounds of your uncle working in the kitchen. However, the sight of your room's door being open, and the sight of Mariko's sports bag there reminds you that it's also supposed to be a welcome party of sorts for her.
The question is, how are you going to break everything to Kishi? Or should you maybe try and hide-
"Oh, welcome back!" Your uncle greets you out of nowhere. "How did it go?"
What do you do?
[] Let it be, just have a normal dinner without breaking any news.
-[] Talk with uncle
-[] Talk with your friends.
[] Better break it early. Keeping things like this is a great way to shatter trust.
[] Write-in.
