Chapter 2 - Ill mornings, part two, 2
[X] Find Mr. Fluffy, quick! Maybe he'll make you feel better.
[x] Call out to your aunt.

You let out a quiet, pitiful groan, and start shuffling around in your beddings. Though the movement elicits further waves of pain that run through your head, you still manage to move around quickly. You need your Mr. Fluffy, hugging him makes everything better after all!

Luckily, the soft and fuzzy dinosaur plush is not far, apparently having been set to your side. You nab it from its sitting position, and bring it into a hug that would probably crush bones of non-magical people. How you slept without Mr. Fluffy in your arms is baffling beyond comprehension.

You do feel marginally better from having the plush in your arms, but sadly it seems that not even Mr. Fluffy can make the horrible headache and the nausea disappear. It was probably too much to hope for, anyways.

You let out a whimper, and squeeze the dino one last time before you turn to look at the door to your room. "A-aunt?" you try to call out, but your voice barely rises above your normal level. Your throat feels so dry and coarse, and even the noise that you manage to cause is enough to almost split your head again.

The noises behind the door cease all of sudden, and for a moment nothing happens. Then the lights there all seem to go out, and you can hear very soft and careful steps approach your room.

Your aunt opens the door gently, purposely avoiding causing any noise with the action. She seems to be clad in much more casual clothing today, and is carrying a small tray with a jug of water, and a glass that contains some sort of round white tablet.

She quickly tiptoes her way over to you, and set the tray on the table next to you while pulling the chair for herself. You watch in confusion as she pours some of the water into the glass, and presents it to you. The water is bubbling with a very noticeable hissing sound from the tablet.

"Here, drink this. It should ease up the headache," she gently whispers to you, a concerned smile on her face. "How are you holding up, kid?"

The beginning of a miserable morning.

Yes, it is the questions just reversed, but that's just because it's the order I think Tamiko would ask them. Feel free to make your own.

Because otherwise we won't really be able to fully get across the feeling and depth of the incredible pain that is the hangover. :V

We should make sure the others weren't hurt too badly.

How much does Tamiko know about Witches again? Because some of them that's across lately have been downright bizarre.

The Phrasing makes it sound like if Our Auntcle is going to die.

The answer to the question is that you're holding up badly, very badly. Between the nausea and the headache, everything feels terrible. Yet, your thoughts return to the events of last evening, and bit by bit it all comes back to you. You were fighting against a witch with your friends, after having tried to help those hurt in the bus… And that reminds you.

"I-is everyone else ok?" you ask quietly, and accept the glass of bubbling water. You wrap both of your shaking hands around it, and bring it to your lips. It tastes quite weird, but if it helps to fight the headache, you can't really complain.

"Well, more or less," your aunt explains. "Your friends all went home after cleansing everyone's Gems and unsuccessfully trying to wake you up. Kishi dropped you off here on the way. Seemed quite concerned for your well-being too."

You nod very slowly as you finish the glass of water. So nothing bad happened to your friends then? That's good at least! But it does nothing to alleviate your miserable state, and after setting the glass back, you cocoon yourself and Mr. Fluffy deeper into the soft blanket.

"A-am I going to die?" you whisper weakly as your stomach lurches. "I feel horrible…"

For some reason, your aunt seems somewhat amused by that. "No, you won't die, I promise. That terrible headache and nausea you're experiencing is called a hangover, which follows heavy use of alcohol. It will pass, you just need to rest."

Alcohol? "But I don't even- Oh… Oh..." In the barrier there were those fumes that Kishi mentioned. You shiver at the thought. Why do these flower witches all leave you bed-ridden, anyways? It isn't fair! "Wh-why would anyone do this to themselves willingly?" What could possibly be worth all this?

"I guess some people just get off on it?" your aunt shrugs. "You could ask Cathy when you next meet too... I've had to nurse her back to shape a fair amount of times after a few particularly long nights, you know."

...That woman is officially a monster in human guise.

"I-I'll keep that in mind," you offer with a faint smile. "But speaking of Cathy… What happened back there?"

"Well… I can't say for sure what happened, besides you collapsing and everyone going home,"
your aunt explains, and offers you a small smile. "But I was told by Cathy that everyone in the bus made it, even if they'll probably have a long recovery ahead of them."

The woman lays her hand on your head, and ruffles your hair. "You did great there, Tamiko."

A shiver runs through you, as the words sink in. Your mind returns to the bus dangling from the edge, and all the screaming, and the blood, and the glass, and the people there… But if they're alright? If they all made it, despite everything? Maybe you did something right, just maybe...

You choke on something, and close your eyes.

What do you do?

It continues.

[] Thank her with a hug.
[] Once you're relaxed, talk more with your aunt.
[] Check in in your friends, but ask them to speak quietly.

Just some ideas. I'm not sure if everyone else is awake yet, but I'm sure they'd like to know that we're ok.
