Boo! sigh I do hate to admit it but Kishi is party right but really, its far out to assume an oc magical girl just attack suddenly in public since that kind of desperation occurs more out of sight or night. I would think they would take the chance to run if its multiple magical girls since its daylight and people about.
Honesty I can't help but wonder if Kishi would try to sabotage our reaching out to Ariane or Mariko.

I do like this conflict of issues, but I really hope we don't keep conceding and build a more independent streak in meeting others on our own (which my vote would have done blah). After we train up of course.

Also I'm a bit surprise there's no invisitext from curse since she essentially back down on talking to another girl that is kindred to her loneliness. You would think this would be a big impact on her, seeing the wary familiar face again.

...I might need to write a side story about Kishi's (mis)adventures in Kazamino. There's just too many others I'd need to be done with.

Kishi being hurt is still worse for Tamiko's conscience than not meeting with a Magical Girl who might not be happy, especially short-term. Good friends are good, and all that :V. Not to mention, you cleansed in the morning, so you're really low on grief at the moment actually.

However, I'll also be noting that I won't be updating tonight due to serious tightening of tomorrow's schedule. Sorry about this! Tweak votes or something with the time?

Chapter 2 - Travelling the Silk Road 12
[x] Say nothing and think on Kishi's words. She makes a good point... but... that can't be the right answer. At least not just that. Isolation is horrible. Kishi isn't wrong. She's not wrong but... ugh. What is the right answer here?

Your arms fall off of Kishi's body and you turn back to face the table. The gazes of your friends only glance your vision before you drop your face down to avoid their scrutiny, at least for now. It was them you could have screwed over here had things gone south with the unknown Magical Girl.

Kishi does have a point there. It wouldn't be just you dealing with mistakes, but also those close to you. Kishi already stresses over your reckless heroism. But she is also strong, stronger than you at least. If you screw up, you know you can count on her to, if not help you out, then at least make it out.

You bite your lower lip.

Evelyn is no Magical Girl, but she could be a target. Ariane has trained, but she's still hesitant about fighting, at least if her reaction to having to spar with you is anything to go by (barring Ghost Form at any rate). And Mariko is still new to being a Magical Girl and has her own issues with violence.

If you screw up, they all could be on the line. So Kishi makes a good point. You have a lot to lose now, and so do they-

"Tamiko, are you feeling alright?" Evelyn asks and breaks your thoughts for a moment. "You're being really quiet there…"

Your eyes snap up for a moment to see Evelyn's concerned face peering into you over the table. You smile weakly and shake your head. "I'm fine… I just need to think a little that's all…"

The concern doesn't abate in the slightest, but she seems to accept the need for you to think about everything for now. As such you close your eyes again. At the same time, you can feel Kishi gently lay her hand on your shoulder. You refuse to look her in the eyes just yet.

But you appreciate it. She doesn't hate you, and even if she disagrees with you, she still cares.

Again, she also makes a good point, but… but that can't be the right answer either, not as it is. It can't be only that approaching other Magical Girls is wrong. It can be reckless, true… Yet the proof of it not being only a bad thing sits there with you, chatting, and eating cake, and drinking, and sharing your concerns.

You were not wrong to offer your friendship Kishi. You were not wrong to chase after Ariane that one bright morning. You were not wrong to step up and save Mariko from the barrier, despite what you knew about her. You could never think that. Your friends are not mistakes.

Kishi is not wrong. You may have been alone during those moments and there wasn't any direct risk to your friends like here.

Remembering the girl's face there, she probably feels at least some form of loneliness or has been through a lot recently. You know it better than most, isolation is horrible. Kishi is not entirely right either. It could have ended badly. But you also could have reached out to another soul in search for a friend.

So what is the right answer here?

You don't know.

But you do know something else. You know that there are good girls out there, who just need a friend. You know there are bad people too who might you and your friends. You know that if you are stronger than them, they can't hurt you.

It may not be right answer, but by becoming stronger you can protect your friends. And by approaching others, you can reach out to new friends.

You are not that strong. But maybe you can be.

So that girl now walking alone through the dark city streets? You now know she's there. You can come back once you're strong. Your aunt thought that the locals must be powerful too. You can believe that, given the way she moved.

You want to believe she's a good person. But you need to be stronger in case you're wrong.

"Oh, she's here!" Ariane announces, and you lazily open your eyes, feeling more conviction about what you need to do.

You need to become more powerful, so you can protect all of them.

What do you do?

Some Soul-searching. Note that this is not necessarily the objective correct answer either, just what Tamiko could think of the stuff suggested in this thread. Given time, you might arrive at an answer that is very different that this one.

Yes. Tamiko doesn't even know where Witches come from. Strength alone isn't the answer. And there really isn't one. Although I could be wrong about that.

And it looks like Kishi's argument may have backfired just a bit.:V

I think Tamiko will want to talk this over with someone.

Backfired?

Nah... To Kishi, a Tamiko that can at least back up the recklessness is still a win :V.

Sure she'd probably prefer a more cautious one, but she'll take what she can get. Plus, the stubborn streak of befriending anyone possible is part of the charm to Kishi, even if she tries to reign in those impulses.

So, she would be okay with Tamiko hunting down Mami later to talk to her? Possibly by herself since doing, since otherwise could endanger her friends?:V

Also, I'm inferring things from the text, not from the thread's intentions. Because that whole sequence gives me vibes of "get personally stronger" and "handle things yourself".

Part of the reason why I like quests. No need to fall into those pesky storyline tropes and traps.

Not gonna let this trip end on a sour note. Gotta think of something to cheer up the atmosphere.
