[X] Cleanse your gem.
[x] Telepathy your friends! (But not Mariko. Not yet) Wish them good morning. Confirm how you're meeting with everyone.
-[x] Actually, would it be alright if we could invite Mariko?
--[x] If it's alright with everyone telepathy Mariko. Apologize for the short notice but you'd like to invite her for the trip, if that's alright with her.
[x] Call Evelyn. Wish her good morning. Trip stuff. Etc.
[X] Go eat breakfast and talk with your aunt.
-[X] Talk about your upcoming trip.
[X] Ask about the magical girl situation in Mitakihara. Is there anything to worry about?
You continue to stare into the the far distance while hugging Fluffy tight. It may be weekend now, and by far later than you usually get up from your precious sleep, but mornings are still the worst! If it wasn't for the thought of going to Mitakihara City with your friends today, you would probably just flop back into your beddings to snooze for a few additional moments.
But as it stands, you can't really do that. You squeeze Fluffy again, drawing a happy squeak to brighten your morning, before you lay him to the side and hop off from your bed. You think about going to your aunt first, but then your eyes lock with your bag. You suddenly recall promising something to her yesterday… Oops?
Well, it's probably nothing life-threatening, so you simply step over to your bag and bring out your steely Soul Gem.
Tamiko Grief: 735/2000
That cleanse seems all the more attractive all of sudden. Your aunt was right: you probably should have been more conscious of your grief levels when training. You hastily shoot your arm to the bag and bring out the first grief seed you find. The seed is quickly put against your Gem, drawing away the thick layer of grief.
Pandora seed: 2824/3000
Your shoulder sag and you let out a pleased sigh as your worries are drawn away from you. A bright smile enters your face as you lay the nearly full seed. You can probably get a small and quick cleanse out of it later. But for now… You're feeling happy and energetic about the coming day! It's time to call up your friends!
'Gooooood morning, Kishi, Ariane~!' you cheerfully call to the pair through your telepathy. 'How are you both today?'
'Oh! G-good morning, Tamiko!' Kishi says, sounding surprisingly upbeat today.
'Yay, good morning, everyone! Are we ready to go? I've been waiting for so long, and it'sgettingsoboringandpleaselet'sgoalready!' Ariane gushes out immediately after, almost drowning Kishi's voice beneath her giddy announcement. You wouldn't be surprised if she was literally bouncing off the walls in excitement.
'Whoa, whoa, calm down a bit, alright?' you try to assuage the girl. 'We'll be going soon, just wait until the rest of us are ready.' You pause for a moment. 'Oh, and I hope you haven't forgotten where we're supposed to meet?'
'A-about 40 minutes in your apartment,' Kishi says quickly, pre-empting and speaking over Ariane.
'It's still too long!' the latter whines pitifully. 'Can't we make the time run faster?'
Hmm… Nope, I think that's still beyond us,' you jab back lightly. 'Just be patient. Kishi, Evelyn and I will meet you here soon enough, and…'
You pause as a thought occurs to you. You had almost forgotten between the conversation, but you should still be working on helping Mariko. And given how your aunt told you to involve her in your activities, and how you've talk about it right in front of her… Yeah…
'Actually, would it be alright if we invited Mariko to our trip to Mitakihara?' you ask. 'I mean, we've kind of been flaunting this in front of her face. Not to mention as a Magical Girl she's probably going to hang out with us in the future too. Why not bring her along with us?'
'Ah, absolutely!' Ariane chimes in nigh immediately. 'The more the merrier, right?'
'...I-I guess?' Kishi allows carefully, seeming somewhat wary of the prospect. She can't seem to voice any protests, though. 'S-she's going to be in hurry, though.'
'Alright, I'll contact her now,' you announce and focus your thoughts on Mariko. 'Good morning, Mariko~! Are you awake?'
'Huh, hzgrlbrl…' comes the confused, nonsensical answer. You must have woken her up. 'What- where- who?'
'Oh, it's just me, Kishi and Ariane!' you continue. 'Uh, and sorry for waking you up by the way.'
'Oh, right... Don't mention it,' Mariko tiredly drawls out. 'What is it?'
'Well, you remember the trip to Mitakihara City that came up when we were talking? We were wondering if it was alright with you to join us there.' You pick up your phone from the bag and start digging up your day clothing. 'Also, sorry for the short notice, but we'll be leaving in about 40 minutes.'
There is a very long pause on the other end as Mariko lets the news sink in fully. It drags on long enough for you to grow somewhat concerned about her, though you don't get to voice those thoughts before you can hear a sigh on the other end.
'You know, I really hope you're not making a habit out of this,' Mariko groans with some hurried exasperation. 'B-but I can't really think of a reason to say no, so… Uh, how does this work again?'
You smile to yourself. Mission accomplished! 'Well, we'll be gathering at my house at that time and then continue on from here with Ariane's aides driving us to the city. Can you make it in time?'
'That's not a problem!' Ariane pipes in. 'We can just pick you up on the way, no need to walk there!'
'Oh. Thanks…'
'Well, how about I let you figure out the specifics in peace? I kind of need to contact Evelyn and get some things done here,' you note. 'See you all soon!'
With that you end the conversation to a chorus of 'Bye's and put down the clothing for the way. You flip your phone open and roll to Evelyn's number. The call is answered soon by the rather hurried-sounding girl. "This is Evelyn, hello!"
"Good morning, Evelyn!" you chime back to the phone, twirling around and jumping down on your bed. "It's just me here."
"Oh, hi Tamiko! What's up with the call? Did something happen? Have the plans been changed?"
"Well, I suppose Mariko joining us counts as a change?" you say awkwardly. Evelyn wasn't even consulted about this decision, though you don't think she would have minded her there. "But I was mostly calling to check if you were all ready to go!"
"Heh, I sure am!" Evelyn announces through the speaker. "Though I take it the addition of Mariko was a pretty recent development?"
You wince. "Yeah, sorry about that…"
"Eh, it's fine. Don't fret about it," Evelyn brushes off your concerns. "But still, I'm actually just about to leave my house to come there, so I'll probably be there quite early. Is that okay?"
...And here you are, still in your PJs and the list of morning routines done at zero. Crap, you'll need to hurry now! But you probably shouldn't let her realize that. "Oh, that's splendid! I'll leave you in peace there, then. See you soon!"
"Right, see ya!"
With that you close the call and let out a sigh. Another reason why morning are the worst! But you can't really rest on your laurels here. You stretch a bit and head out of your room and towards the bathroom.
A quick wash and a change of clothes later you find yourself in the kitchen, staring at the pile of pancakes on the table. You can't help but to drool a little at the sight. They look so delicious…
"Heh, good morning to you too! I see that you're pretty hungry for breakfast already," your aunt chuckles from the side, turning around from the sink to face you, at the same blaring the outrageously pink apron. It goes surprisingly well with the hair. "Well, dig in! I think you're going to be in hurry soon."
You nod slowly and do as you're told, your eyes not quite leaving the pile the entire time it takes you to sit down and pile up your portion on your plate. Weekend breakfasts are the best!
"Hmm, feeling nervous about your trip yet?" your aunt asks as she sits down herself. You glance at her in between bites and pause to think.
"Well, kind of?" you admit. "I mean, it's not a city I've gotten to visit much before, so everything there must be new!" Another quick mouthful of pancakes. "But I'm going there together with my friends to have fun, so it's not like anything bad would happen."
"...I really wish you wouldn't jinx it like that," the woman notes with a raise of her eyebrow. "But are you sure you've got everything ready? Is there anything you might have forgotten?"
"Yes, I'm sure we're good to go!" you answer with a sigh. "We've been planning for this for a while, you know."
"Heh, true enough," your aunt admits. "Just making sure that you're all set. Just remember to not get into any trouble there, alright? No taking risks or anything."
"Yeah, yeah," you mutter and take a look at the roof. Come to think of it, there was something you probably should have asked earlier… Oops? "Um, actually, can you tell me what's the Magical Girl situation like in Mitakihara? Is there anything to worry about?"
Kishi has given you enough of a warning about that possibility being very real.
"I haven't really checked Mitakihara City properly yet," the woman in front of you reluctantly admits. "But from what I've seen and researched, the area is quite calm. I doubt you'll run into any trouble, but just for safety's sake try to keep your Soul Gems hidden. Don't seek out witches either. The locals are likely strong and not too happy about others on their turf."
You can get behind that. No getting into fights, no drawing attention of other Magical Girls… Got it. A quick look at the clock also reveals that Evelyn is probably going to arrive soon.
