Yeah, I figured that would unintentionally hurt Mariko. Ugh. Chalk up another one for not voicing voter concerns.

That said, getting Arianne's help in this would be wonderful. Developing a large and trusted support network for Mariko and other magical girls is simply invaluable.

Actually, that reaction wasn't intended to be really all that teasing. Like maybe half, at best. Looking at it seriously for a moment, that sort of thing always seems to highly embarrass Tamiko and makes Kishi almost catatonic. Embarrassing people like that multiple times has been never felt all that funny to me... just embarrassing and awkward. But then again, I've always took that sort of thing more seriously than what most people intend.

And I had kind of noticed something went wrong when I saw Araine's had thought about explaining things, but then... well, you know.:oops::V

But yeah, I had assumed that Mariko had also been teasing, and so thought that firing back would be fine. Which was actually pretty stupid considering that Mariko is still new to the group.

I believe the reason we didn't tell Evelyn everything is because we didn't want to color her judgement of Mariko before even meeting her. In Ariane's case, it seems she already realizes there's more going on here then meets the eye. So somewhat different circumstances here.

I can actually speak from experience that friends with enough trust in each other are not necessarily averse to talking about the stupid and embarrassing shit some of them might have been up to. When it's your friend reminding you of that stuff, the way you take it is very different to how you would take it from a complete stranger. This does require a certain amount of trust held between people for them to not consider it threatening, though. And even then, it can't be the defining thing between these people.

Granted, this particular Meguca group hasn't been together for that long, but this is made up by the quality of the time, and the traumatic experiences which need a way to be vented even if they are oft pushed to the back of the mind as much as possible. And certain... decisions in this quest have made Tamiko the easy and semi-acceptable target for embarrassing jokes for several people in-quest.

Although... purposely trying to embarrass yourself is a tad bit eyebrow-raising :p.

Still don't get it. There are several way more pleasant ways to be around friends. Might be colored by own experiences, though. I seriously hated it when people teased me about a crush or perceived crush.

I guess I'll take your word it, though, since I seem to be the only one who feels that way.

I don't think you are. I wouldn't be offended exactly, but it would not be something I enjoyed.

It's a way of showing vulnerability, and I don't think Tamiko is actually that embarrassed, any more then her unkle is evil. It's a game for her.

I would guess that she likes being the center of attention, but finds it embarrassing so has conflated the two feelings a bit.

It's not my kind of thing either, but some people want attention, even if it's negative attention.
