Kishi's characterization: Somewhat convinced that she is a monster due to the cyborg magical girl transformation. And lonely and friendless which feeds into the monster rationalization.

For all that I think the thread has not been actively shipping, as happy as we are with incidental, for the most part I think the agreement was to let whatever happened happen, and just trying to be a good friend. I think we have been accidentally hitting bull's-eyes with Kishi. Which if true I find hilarious, since when does a Sufficient Velocity thread accidentally ship?

That has been pretty much what had been happening, IMO. The SV PMMM voter base tends to have MCs be incredibly affectionate, shipping or no. They're pretty much anti-tsundere.

Chapter 2 - Setting the stage 4

    Are you in a position to do anything? You don't know, But you do know that your friend is clearly distressed about this, even if she tries to write it off as nothing important. You also know that hugs are the solution to all life's problems, especially to sadness and general emotional turmoil anyone might be feeling.

    You take a step forward and turn to face Kishi. Before she can protest or put up any resistance, you wrap your arms around the girl and pull her into a tight hug. Her body tenses up from your sudden approach, but relaxes soon under your gentle grasp, almost falling limp in your arms.
    Even in locker, something reaches at Kishi from the Soul Gem, through your body.
    Your previous anger is replaced by worry for your friend as you hold your head next to Kishi's and start talking to her calmly in whispers, "You don't have to say those things to me, I can see you are shaken up about her words..."

    You bite your lips unsurely before continuing, "...but please, don't forget that I'm here. I-I'm here with you; for you if you want… Because I'm your friend, Kishi, and I will never leave you. S-so if you are hurt by anything, I will be there for you. Always."

    Kishi hesitates for a moment, before weakly wrapping her arms around your body and fully burying her face in the embrace between you. She starts talking back to you weakly, her voice quiet and muffled, "T-Tamiko… t-thank you, for e-everything… B-but you don't need to w-worry about me."

    "Kishi, you…" you hastily try to begin, only to get interrupted by the other girl.

    "I-it's not the first time. I-I'm sorry… I-I didn't want you to get i-involved in t-this… I-I'd have preferred if you d-didn't even have to k-know about this." Kishi stutters out loud and tries to shake her head a bit in the hug, "S-sorry, you must think I-I'm just being pathetic…"

    What do you do?

    [] ...sounds like you seriously need to talk with that other girl.
