The reason I included that as a possibility is that Minami's apartment is very close to Momoko's house,
Oh well that addresses like 90% of my concern right there.
she's kind of already part of Yui's inner circle, is all but guaranteed to contract eventually,
well yeah, that's a given.
and having a group conversation face-to-face while including one extra person via telepathy is awkward.
I guess it might be. That's the remaining 10%, I'm now 100% satisfied.

Also because the general inclination seemed to be having a strategy meeting with Maiko and Minami at the secret base next, but since you met up with Maiko here and the main topics of conversation somewhat involve Yumi, pulling everyone in at once seemed reasonable.

I mean, you could also do whatever Maiko has planned in the basement then take Yumi with you to the secret base, or meet up somewhere else, or whatever.
Nah, like I said I wasn't objecting, just wondering why it was a thing. I was mostly picturing everybody sitting around for 10-20 minutes while she walks over, then we go out to meet her by the gate to open it up for her, and it's just generally a bit awkward.

If she lives really close, then that's not really a scenario to be concerned about. A 2 minute wait is loads better than a 10 minute wait.

Probably more than two minutes, but not long. Enough time for you to introduce Yumi and Maiko properly and let Yumi's nerves settle enough that she stops looking like she expects Momoko's ghost to jump out and murder her at any moment.

Asami and Tomo also live reasonably nearby, but Asami's not home right now and you don't know IC where Tomo lives.

Alright, I can agree with that. The main point of my original vote was to make sure we did the basement stuff before we did the conversation (and I don't think that Yumi particularly wants to go down into the basement, anyway). Making some edits:

[X] Get Maiko and Yumi to introduce themselves properly. Their first attempt was terrible.
[X] Invite Minami to come over (if Maiko and Yumi don't mind). Check if she's feeling better, first. The more heads you have to put together, the better, and you require moral support.
[X] While waiting for Minami, get tea and whatever snack food you have around.
-[X] Make small talk, nothing too serious just yet. Where you went/go to school (even if it's been a while), what you like doing. Prod Maiko into doing so, she needs practice not being the mysterious senpai occasionally.
[X] When Minami arrives:
-[X] Make sure she doesn't just walk past the bodies and freak out. Bring the bodies inside beforehand if you have to.
-[X] Hugs.
-[X] Give a brief summary of what happened during the fight, including Naoko and Kaede's situation.
-[X] Introduce Minami to Yumi.
[X] Go with Maiko down to the creepy basement.
-[X] Get Minami to make small talk with Yumi while you're in the basement. She needs the practice too.
-[X] Ask Maiko if she's okay.

Edit: Actually, since a lot of this vote depends on Minami now, @Echo, do we need a decent explanation of why we want Minami over to convince Yumi and Maiko, or does 'moral support' suffice?

What do you intend by "check if she's feeling better", BTW? Minami seemed okay this morning, if a bit tired from staying up too late.

Maiko won't question it, and Yumi has no particular reason to question your choice of who is involved. "A friend who will probably make a contract eventually" is explanation enough.

I was thinking of the previous time Yui spoke to Minami. Totally forgot that she's somewhat recovered from the probable Witchbomb.

Not 100% recovered, but enough to not be obvious.

It helps that Minami has definitely hit it off with both Asami and Maiko, as well as getting attached to Yui. The whole witchbomb thing is just about the only blemish on what has otherwise been a fantastically happy week for her.

Y'know, it'd be nice to have more than four votes...

Sorry. This is one of the quests where I'm often afraid to vote.

Sorry, I don't like to vote that much, and my ideas tend to be on the wrong side of "practical". (Seriously, one time I proposed a particle weapon needing the output of a supernova to kill a person)

Technically, I'm supposed to be writing an update to my quest right now, instead of reading this one and ruminating on whether my MC or Momoko/Yui would win in a fight.

Gonna close votes soon-ish. Hopefully you all actually like Hatter's vote and aren't just bandwagoning because I nagged you about it. :V

Does your MC 1) do morally questionable things and 2) have either a specific weak point such that severe damage in a small area can be fatal or an extreme vulnerability to psychic intimidation? If yes to both, Momoko wins pretty much by definition. If no to #1, Momoko would refuse to fight. If no to #2, Momoko would probably be fucked since she's otherwise just a skilled swordfighter with mediocre strength/speed by meguca standards.

Yes to the first, no to the second. So yeah, pretty much what I figured.

Vs Yui, I'd probably give it to Yui, because she edges out in the offense and energy reserves department.

I'm actually eagerly waiting for waiting to reach a certain point in Interficio Antitheus so I can write up a Tatsuya VS Momoko Omake.

Okay, votes are closed! I'll try to finish the update tonight but I'm not sure I'll have much time to write.

Why's that?

I mean, I don't think I'm particularly harsh as far as QMs go...

There are a lot of details to keep track of and practically no canon characters to use as an easy framework of reference. As such, it's easy to lose track of something important. Also, the protagonist has a lot of responsibility. As such, making a stupid mistake is easy.

Sabrina has a lot of responsibility too. :V
She does, but her powers are more versatile, cancel out some of the worst parts of being a meguca, her responsibilities are less immediate, and most of the cast we interact with regularly are canon characters, so we're less likely to forget important details about them.

practically no canon characters

Well, there's always Chou, at least. :V

I suppose I could always have Yui's parents drag her along to another social event full of wealthy and important people, but it's not like Yui would have any reason to talk to Oriko (or Hitomi?) vs. any of the other kids that would be there.

we're less likely to forget important details about them.

Given the collective attention span of the PMAS thread I'm reasonably certain that Sabrina is capable of temporarily forgetting almost anything. :V
