...Her dad fucked a spaceship, it's the only logical explanation.

She can also fly short distances, create forcefields, and fire homing missiles! :V

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! BWAHAHAHAHAHA! I'm sorry, but she's just such a beanpole that those wings look ridiculous on her. Even her expression seems to imply it!

Eh, I have a single base figure I reuse for these costume design sketches.

Rio's shorter than she looks there, but is pretty scrawny otherwise.

@Echo In regards to those self defense classes Yui's father brought up.... Would accepting them have any benefit whatsoever?

If só, would it be a good idea to talk about any possible problems and/or ways to lessen them with Maiko?

Accepting them would have the benefit of reassuring her parents somewhat and depending on what kind of classes you take might be useful for other purposes. If you spin it into deciding to take some sort of martial arts classes beyond basic personal self-defense it could be helpful practice for real fights.

Talking to Maiko would also be a good idea before deciding, since she might have suggestions.

Fingers crossed for Yui learning compliance holds in class. She'd need someone to practice on, of course... maybe Koharu can join! In the name of placating the parental units, of course.

Yup ;) Now you know why Momoko was bullshit.
Also why she ended up being such a bitch: that ability is solely useful for killing people. There is no less-than-lethal way to attack someone's soul gem. With the threats that she was up against, anything less effective than that ability would've likely been insufficient for her to retain power and authority. Yuck.

.....isn't that basically every magical girl and their soul gem?

Yep. She had no other gimmicks or powers beyond the standard meguca package, either. Superhuman, but not especially strong or fast by meguca standards. Her wish magic was also tied to her sense of morality; even in the heat of the moment, she literally couldn't use it on someone she didn't truly believe had done something to warrant death.

When her wish magic was active, though, she was untouchable and perfectly accurate with every strike. Like, she'd been meguca for not even an hour when she killed four experienced veterans by slicing their Soul Gem rings apart without drawing blood.

She wasn't invincible against direct assault by any means, but for a long time she had Kyubey guiding her and making sure nobody ambushed her or whatever, and by the time she turned against Kyubey she had enough experience and reputation that it would have been very hard to take her out.

Sooo, what I'm hearing is she was Charles-Henri Sanson from Zerbans Hollow Order Quest.

She has 'Detect Guilty', and specialises in Insta kills.

So... I have a question. There was indication that Momoko had run ins with Hisae before. Hisae if anything had shone herself as the kind of magical girl Momoko would want to do away with. Why did she spare her?

I thought it was a 'I'm giving you a very explicit warning that you may enter my shit list. Cut your shit out before you enter it'.

Problem was, she didn't. Or at least thought she could get away with it.

...I really, really hate the brutality of PMMM sometimes. It's basically 'Force decent people to turn into monsters' all day every day.
But she didn't have a Stand.
Thats Sanson Alter. You know 'The true Injustice of this world is life' guy.

Regular sane Sanson just has the DECAPITATIOOOOOOOOOOON sword.

Because by the time Momoko turned on Kyubey, she'd almost single-handedly turned the meguca world of Japan into a hellish free-for-all and "spared" dozens of innocent girls who'd witched out soon after. (Including the healer from the omake, BTW.)

While she didn't regret her own direct actions, the indirect consequences weighed heavily on her. When she settled down in Nagamioka she had much the same dreams that Yui does; to use her power and reputation to defend a territory and give others a chance to live as magical girls without being forced to become monsters, in either sense.

As such, once Momoko secured her claim over Nagamioka she forced herself to use her powers only in very limited circumstances because if she provoked an open war with Tokyo groups, it would be the girls under her protection who'd be most likely to suffer.

Hisae's group was canny enough to figure out exactly how far they could push Momoko's patience, including a habit of conveniently conceding territory to other groups they'd provoked so that they no longer bordered Nagamioka when they'd done something to upset Momoko.

As I said earlier, Momoko would have killed Hisae, Kaede, and Naoko on sight as soon as they entered Nagamioka. She let them live because they were smart enough to not do that. :V

Well, until they done goofed up.

To be fair, they were well aware that Momoko was killed, and wouldn't have tried fleeing into Nagamioka otherwise.

Their mistake was not knowing that Kyubey was trying to set up a replacement for Momoko. If they'd just run into girls like Koharu and Tomo they'd have been fine...

Something I've been wondering. Kiyomi was the one who didn't seem to have been lichbombed, but she also stayed up for five days straight without eating or drinking. You'd think that might be a clue.
