Peril's Origin - A Magical Girl Quest [Complete]

[Sorry if i'm wrong, but pretty sure it still isn't necro]
Wow, that was awesome, even if it did end in a tragedy like i thought it would since arc3 (i think). Kinda glad that i decided to finish this once i read in another thread that this was finished.

As for the ending, while it was pretty good and satisfying even though not what my favorite ending would have been (Dragonslaying along the time axis), but now in my mind the true ending of this will be that once Nepgear removes the mind control from Grey, Grey goes back, recruit those from the Ashen Citadel, and after some time go talk to Defiance about things, giving back hope to her about somehow acheaving a lasting peace without genocide involved, igniting her flames back in order to rage agaisnt a world of eternal war.

Perhaps it could be a Grey side mission on the main campaign, and after some shanenigans Defiance ends up witnessing the fact that Nepgear is 'something' peace, breaks down crying, and decides to help her no matter what.

Now some mechanics questions: Does the upgrades to Meaningless Slaugther mean that she can now mantain something like 300+ atp for a long time in combat without strain damage? While i understand that insane raw power triumphs some mechanics, what would have been the limit towards continuous use in prolongued battles? If she decided to join UL, what would she have been in battle? She is weak against order effects, could you give some examples, since i kinda don't understand what it means?

Still, thanks for this writing this quest, it was very impressive and epic, and you captured the underdog feeling really well. 'Insert congrulatory messages here' ^^

Edit: Another question: back when Argus died, what would have happened if instead of us retreating we stood guard on the hell gates?

Well, what happens in mainline will happen there. That rendition of how Heidi would react is a little dramatic (e.g. "decides to help her no matter what", specifically the last half), but it is possible.

Meaningless Slaughter is bonkers. Heidi has to get used to the ridiculous speed but yes, she can maintain triple and quadruple digits of actions and more without hurting herself. The first few times this fades away will be (or were) a major trip though.
It is a Super Ability after all, one that makes it basically impossible for her to be drowned in numbers.

There should be no limit on its prolonged use, though, again, that much speed can make one heady once it subsides.
Unsure what you mean about joining the UL, but I assume you mean after returning from her journey and not at the start of it; in that case, she would probably have turned into the second coming of Goddess Grey (in the eyes of the Light) because she is incredibly fast and skilled beyond almost everyone else. Does not hit as hard, but she could still plow through most things thrown at her. It would take champions to match her, and she can run circles around the UD because she can be at every frontier at the same time.

Order effects, specifically, are anything holding the Order-Affinity and similar Affinities. Heidi is weak against those, anything that is about enforcing the existing rules. Note that the Rule-Affinity does not fall under that because it is about being a ruler and enforcing your rule, not the laws themselves.

As for the choice between retreating and guarding... well, my notes say Argus would not have died because he did not have to jump Gabriel then; the scene would have gone somewhat differently and it has been a while, so I am not sure about the how's right now.

Suffice it to say, saving Argus would have meant that Heidi is back a little later for the match with Gabriel, who by then would have killed Elisabeth.

If that had happened, Argus would have become the founder of the Ashen Legion instead of his sister.

Anyway, thank you for the praise. It was fun to write this whole thing.

Thanks for answering the questions, and yes, i meant after the journey. And wow, i did not realize the fact that she could have been in all frontlines at once using Voyage could have been so strong. Instant reinforcement+speed against armies+Voyage means that as long as you don't prepare something especifically against her, or just give one opening she tps away, and even if she can't kill you she can kill your army and leave, leaving you to solo the rest of her allies.

Would an effect that says 'you can only have 5 apt' something to be found in the Order affinity? If so, i can understand somewhat, but wouldn't her superabilities counter that, or is it a specific weakness, and thus overide it?

That is an effect which can exist, it does not have to be among something she is specifically weak to in order to apply. And yes, it would affect her.

Ohhh, thanks, i misunderstood what Rage Against Fate did, thought it was a blanket denial. That makes more sense. Still, really hope we endup managing to help her in the main timeline, Heidi does deserve a happy ending.

Edit: can she use the Gabriel's Blender techinique only with Aetheric Tide or has she figured out an work around for it?

The blender technique requires having separate hits to spread out, which means Heidi's lightsaber and sword are already not useful. The scythe appears like it could, but Ray is basically just "keep spinning it" and does not get a speed boost to be exploited.

So yes, it works only with Aetheric Tide.
