"So this is the Tower," he said, but Weaver wasn't looking at the courtyard or spires, the kiosks or booths; instead, her eyes were glued to the floating white sphere before them that was so large it almost defied comprehension.
Some clunkiness here that is resolved by replacing that comma with a semicolon and adding a comma.
"Nice balance," Cayde commented, looking over the detail work.
Missing comma there.

I just hope neither side stomps the other. Although protag bias demands I hope weaver wins I still think cayde should be able to give a good showing only to fall to an unexpected light trick that weaver came up with.

First to win 4 rounds of 6v6 survival gives them more than enough time to play around and one-up each other.

Final Mercy. Nice name for her gun. Really like it.
I've got names for all of Weaver's guns and lore entries for the major ones that'll be getting posted as they show up (there'll be one for Mercy soonish).

Sounds like Taylor went MAXIMUM ESCALATION on her Light, which is saying something considering what the basic form of it can already do. That's gonna attract attention if nothing else.

I found the PoV scenes from Taylor's ghost pretty neat, honestly. Including the musings on the name 'ghost', and what they've been called while in the Reef - methinks I too like Spark better.

You know I'm actually somewhat confused about how Cayde doesn't know Weaver/Taylor since doesn't he already know Variks? Or was that only after the house of wolves DLC?

I'm not really a fan of the way you use an ellipsis to indicate a pause there. It's something that's done, but I don't think it's appropriate for prose like this as opposed to something like a script. I think it would be better to close the quotation and insert some narration like "She paused there, before continuing".
I'm going to disagree with you here. First off, doing that would be much clunkier--those five words literally add no new information that the ellipsis doesn't already provide. Second off, conveying that information through text interrupts the flow of the dialogue a lot more than an ellipsis, emphasizing whatever information the text conveys, which could create an effect that ensou doesn't want.

Like, look at this:
She looked at Kali. "Yeah, it's like having a piece of yourself missing that shouldn't be." She paused, searching for the right words. When she resumed her speech was hesitant, like someone finding their footing in uneven terrain. "I can't explain it really well. Like knowing you were supposed to be able to see, but not having your eyes, and then getting them back but having to close them so that you can't see again. Except it's deeper, a part of you."

To me, that looks a lot more awkward without the ellipsis and stutter-mark. Even if you were objecting to having the ellipsis directly after the period, this (adding the punctuation back in):
She looked at Kali. "Yeah, it's like having a piece of yourself missing that shouldn't be." She paused, searching for the right words. When she resumed her speech was hesitant, like someone finding their footing in uneven terrain. "...I-I can't explain it really well. Like knowing you were supposed to be able to see, but not having your eyes, and then getting them back but having to close them so that you can't see again. Except it's deeper, a part of you."

Or even this:
She looked at Kali. "Yeah, it's like having a piece of yourself missing that shouldn't be." She paused, searching for the right words. "...I-I can't explain it really well. Like knowing you were supposed to be able to see, but not having your eyes, and then getting them back but having to close them so that you can't see again. Except it's deeper, a part of you."

Has a different effect than the original. Adding the extra text puts more focus on Weaver's being off-balance and hesitant, and though cutting out the extra sentence helps, the effect is still there, even if it's diminished.

I mean, you could argue that ensou should put more focus on that aspect of the story, but that seems like a pretty different--and much more general--matter than what you brought up.

I mean, you could argue that the difference between having one extra sentence and no extra sentence isn't very significant, but... small differences add up, you know?

The Reef wasn't open to outsiders at all until House of Wolves, which Cayde very much counts as.

Oh god another Lord Saladin.
A challenger appears~

"There is no stronger moment of living than that in the heat of battle."
"Are you prepared to face a fallen goddess? I doubt it."
"Show me your Light, Guardian."

I love and adore the shit out of Kali and Weaver and their whole dynamic. They are adorable together and I can't wait to see more. Also, Crucible match. Yay!

Grimoire: Final Mercy
Final Mercy
"Say your prayers."

Last Rites
(Intrinsic): Draws extremely fast and deals increased precision damage for three seconds.

Corkscrew Rifling: Balanced barrel. Slightly increases range and stability. Slightly increases handling speed.
High-Caliber Rounds: Shots from this weapon knock the target back farther. Slightly increases range.

Momentum Mortis: The next three rounds after a kill deal significantly increased damage.

Polymer Grip: This weapon's grip is made of lighter material. Increases handling speed.

"You know why this is happening don't you? You brought this on yourself."

She stared down, eyes hard as jade, a stark contrast to the molten gold that looked up from their place kneeling on the cold metal deck.

"You chose to cheat. To lie. To steal. To smuggle. And not just items. Not just food, or water, or other things. But people." Her voice was like vacuum-forged ice, cutting harshly. "The Queen does not abide slavery. And for that, the sentence is death."

The hammer rose.

"Do you have any last words?"

The other spoke, for the first time. "No matter how hard you try, you'll never be one of us."

"I already am."

The hammer fell.

Nice! That looks like a beast of a hand cannon, and very fitting for Taylor's proprioception target trick. What does she rock for a secondary? A sidearm like the house of wolves quest one? She never struck me as a shotty type, except maybe the chaperone which wouldn't make sense from a story perspective.

Edit: also, if anyone here plays D2 what's the opinion on that new update or dlc or whatever it was? Worth? Bungie possible to trust? Bullshit too excessive? I want to still love Destiny but...

The new update is alright, I'm in the middle of the faction rally (FWC for life!). As for the DLC I'd say to wait until they lower the prices, while it is better than Curse of Osiris that isn't a high bar to jump.

I quite liked the update, and would love to be playing, but I have to study for block testing. I really should get on that.

Weaver has a lot of guns. A lot of guns. The weapons she prefers from each type of the D1 secondaries though are a Vestian Dynasty (can't beat the classics), a pretty standard shotgun named "Kindness" and fusion rifle named "The Easy Answer", and an exotic-level sniper rifle called the "Stygian Needle" that'll show up and get its own lore entry eventually.

Nobody seems to be on anymore, it's making it hard to get the coldheart ornament since there's nobody to nightfall with. But I'm going to be grinding like hell on WF anyway once Limbo Prime drops. So id say hold your money until the Fall DLC drops.

I'm actually trying to make the transition from Xbox to PS4, so I'm not even able to do any of the new dlc yet. Honestly the worst part about the transition is that I don't get the fun little voice lines that are used when you have a legacy. Also HOLY CRAP I didn't know Limbo was getting primed.
