well, there went Alar...Halkeginia, i always meant to write Halkeginia.
and it seems that Loiuse may just resign herself to be the Overlady and put a leash on her subjects(Henrrietta, Elanore, Cattleya), because everyone else will screw up worse than her and the abscence of Overlouise seems to have shattered her world.

Huh, interesting, the Helm and the other Gauntlet are still out there. Is there a play through where she takes the them as she travels through time? Considering it doesn't seem like they're known in the present. lost and unknown artifacts appearing through rifts in time are kind of a thing.

Well, that was fun. Seeing some rather important historical events. The First Overlord, the genocide of the gold maddened Dwarves, the Death of Brimir and likely corruption of Sasha, an incredibly dapper Zerbst and Louise's near miss with bride hood, a crazy lesson in why you shouldn't be so picky with your body wash and the windstone crisis.

Well, two of those weren't that important historically but personally fairly significant. Looks like older louise is the one who stayed a hero after the time shattering, leading to no overlord to moderate evil plots and crush the crazy ones.

The fact that current!Louise had a different out-of-time experience from future!Louise, is anyone else getting flashbacks to that old Pinky and the Brain episode?

Hm. So future Louise barged in on her mother's dressing room when her Mother was younger than her.
I guess the big question is whether now Louises mother remembers that or not.

only the Karin of future Louise's timeline would have any chance of remembering.

probably.

I'm uncertain about the rules of time travel that this fic is using and kinda feel like what ones there may be are mucked with because of the Evil magic.

As Eleanore said:

"I know what you're trying to say, but no, that's not how it works," Eleanore said, sounding a little more like her normal self. "I don't have - ha! - time to explain it to you right now, but suffice to say, the Great Spell of Elias Chronophagus shatters time. Cause and effect has no hold on what happens.

Cause and effect has no hold. That means that things can happen without a cause - like futures that now can't happen because of events in the fractured time. Or pasts that have been changed and just haven't caught up with the changes yet.

When the spell ends, time snaps back together again and tries to make sense of itself. Which it is far from perfect at.

(This is the all-encompassing explanation for any continuity errors for historical elements of the setting I describe, like if Henrietta has three grandfathers.)

Does Halkegenia have its own version of the History Monks?

No, not at all. It's just left to scab over. This also explains why the timeline is a mess and Brimir lived 6000 years ago from some points of view, but a lot of things don't line up as if it was 6000 years ago.

I'm not saying that the flow of time is convoluted in Tristain, but I am saying that between heros trying to stop an ultimate evil by going back in time, villains trying to stop their defeat by going back in time, and people occasionally trying zany schemes to achieve ultimate power through messing with the timeline, the flow of time is more than a little bit turbulent.

... soooooo, who is(/are) the father(s) of Future!Louise's kid(s).

More importantly, what happened to the monkey? He's gonna be one of those Chekhov's Brick Jokes like on TVTropes, huh.

He is of course the greatest hero in all of future!Halkeginia known far and wide for his dashing bravery, who is also the prettiest blond around [1]. The Prince serves as the admiral of the Valliere sky-fleet, commanding from his flagship, the Rose of Roses.

[1] This is important, because Louise inherited a fondness for blonds from her mother.

Future Louise is a scarred, grizzled sky pirate princess ruling over a colony of survivors in a post-apocolyptic hellscape.

Any being attempting to breed with someone with that many adjectives must retroactively become a von Zerbst, even if they weren't before.

Sadly, the cataclysm of the world tearing itself apart has done what hundreds of years of de la Valliere efforts could not. The von Zerbst estate was destroyed, and no member of the family has been seen alive since then [2]. The floating remnants of the von Zerbst lands have been captured by the Valliere principality, and are some of Louise's holdings.

[2] Blitzhart has been seen dead, but that's because he was haunting a lady's bedchambers and seduced the nun sent to exorcise him and they wound up just surrounding the room with salt and dropping the rock into the underworld because they couldn't get rid of him another way.

So she ended up with Guiche in that timeline? Huh. Wonder how that happened?
