Of course. Plan B, C, D, E, F through Z are all varying levels of explosions.
B hand-held level lasers , C )grenades, C4, etc ,D) artilery strikes Commander style, F) localized nuclear or equivalent, E) destroy the city Z)burn the continent if that doesn't work the planet :)))

Meh, just Nuke him. Directional Focuses blast preferably. Just to lower the collateral. Either that or wrap him up in progenitor material monomolecular wires. The more he expands, the tighter the wire and the more deep it cuts.

I'm fairly sure that even a sandbagging Simurgh would have dealt with the Commander by now. I will call bullshit if the somehow manages to make off world structures without the Simurgh subverting or destroying it herself.

he only fucked with Sphere. They still have satellites, she just scared everyone out of orbit. Also redundancy. The SI doesn't send one, he sends as many as necessary, then quadruples it.

And you honestly believe the Simurgh can't find your Commander body and go directly to it if she so wishes?

This is the problem with fighting against a perfect precog, she can see your plans before you even think of them, and if you somehow manages to circumvent the whole thing it won't be because you're 'clever', but rather because you nerfed her OOC.

Honestly loved how the shards were described/ depicted, what with their giant middle finger to physics fuckery.

.

Does anyone have a Worm canon description / depictation of the Shards by Wildbow?

Also there's the fact he hasn't actually launched them yet.

Also due to the fact one of the things that wasn't given an in-detail explanation for how it works was precog, I'm headcanoning it in a way I think makes sense, and have since I fjrst started reading wormfics a while back, which has...interesting consequences with multiversal travel

It's precog working in a way that isn't actually magic
Sadly precog working as totally-not-magic-honest is canon worm, so if you change that it is by definition a Nerf.

That's why people make sure to create anti-precog features before engaging in whatever harebrained scheme they decide to work on.

You also have to remember that the Shards, and likely Simurgh, very much have to possess planetary scale ultra accurate sensor suits that allows them to use the obtained information to calculate their precognitions if you go that route. So the moment you land on the other side of the planet the Simurgh (and Contessa, and Coil, and Dinah and many others) already 'know' you are there and can start to plan around your existence.

Points accepted. Another, fairly large reason the commander hasn't been ganked is that by the time the cycle would end, the Commander generates a significant amount of conflict. How I will not say, but it's enough that combinded with some of the Precog alterations the Simurgh doesn't see reason to.

So basically currently he is useful for all of their plans and that is why he is currently allowed to exist? That works. Though as soon as he isn't useful he will be hit with overwhelming firepower compared to his capabilities at the time. Just so you know.

I think it's the...next? Chapter which mentions the beginnings of multidimensional expansion. The goal is to eventually be so stuck in on completely random, lifeless earths that it becomes a game of whack-a-mole where the moles are spread across spacetime, and have more firepower than the entirety of the mass effect universe.

If all else fails, Lung still has to breath and get oxygen to his brain. Having your nanobots temporarily disrupt hemoglobin's ability to carry oxygen would knock him out.

There are a lot of things that you can do with nanobots that'd put him down and keep him down no matter how good his regeneration is. Scavenge oxygen out of his brain or lungs directly, mess up his circulatory system in one way or another, destroy the chunk of brain responsible for anger, manufacture narcotics already in his brain, directly activate receptors on neurons in patterns consistent with opiates or euphoric hallucinogens, pump him full of a powerful general anesthetic, etc.

The big issue will be getting a payload of nanobots in through his fire. Once you've got that payload into him, though, he's probably hosed.

Made some edits to make the Merchants scene better, to address some concerns from SB

If he can get into Shards with Nanobots, there's no need to fight. Just spray some nano-juice on him and wait a bit to cut his shard access off.

plan Z is when you go fuck it, and annihilate the solar system

Dang that tranq should have worked. He's at most a Brute 1 unramped. I'd assume Plan B is to use the nanobots hidden in the dart to turn off his powers? Also has he been tagging the shards of everyone he's capturing? Because a lot of those powers would have good variants he might want to mess with. I wonder what'll happen when he takes off the parental locks on a Tinker shard.
