Demigra. The Androids. Demigra. The FUCKING ANDROIDS.

Demigra: Is Xenoverse canon? Does he show up outside Xenoverse? (What is xenoverse, anyway?)

Androids: They somehow killed Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan, and they beat up Super Saiyan Vegeta near the beginning (Not mastered SSJ Vegeta, though), so I'm not sure how much fault can be laid on him. And as Monado says, the apocalypse makes growing up hard.

Xenoverse is 'we have no idea if it's canon or not because Video Game'
Then explain his being mind controlled.
Demigra has also mind-controlled Piccolo earlier, and Vegeta, Gohan and Gotenks at that time. That is less incompetence and more a massive OCP to anyone else.

Vegeta threw off Babidi's mind control, remember, and yet he couldn't do anything against Demigra's mind control.

Who's going to teach Future Trunks how to throw off Magical Mind Control by an insanely powerful Demon Lord?
Chorona should have honestly.

Off topic though, I gotta say, Babidi was PATHETIC. Like, he considered the SUPREME KAI a threat. And to remind everyone, Dr. Gero created Androids stronger than the Supreme Kai.

Power scaling in DB doesn't make sense, what else is new? After all, despite being able to BLOW UP THE MOON, Master Roshi said he couldn't beat the Red Ribbon Army, which was mostly normals.

Yeah, that is weird. But for sense of 'power scale' we were told that he could beat Frieza. Now, considering what you know of that monster, the Supreme Kai probably didn't even know Frieza could transform. Think about it for a second.

I've never played the first Xenoverse, so I can't say if that's canon to this quest in particular as of yet.

I do own it on the PC so when I get a chance I'll get through it.

I have the second one, though.

This seems a better way to word what I was trying to say earlier. Flaws are a big part of what makes characters interesting. Folks immediately trying to get rid of such things just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I don't mind so much keeping the flaw itself as I do trying to use it when the goal is deplomacy. And currently, we need to be diplomatic as fuck to learn the lay of the land.

So, uh. I had a question.

Saiyans, and a fair amount of characters in Dragon Ball(Z/GT/Super), don't have surnames.

We can go about this one of two ways, either come up with a surname for Soko, or, simply don't.

Thoughts?

Do it the Quarian way! We're Soko nar [Ship's name]. Or replace nar with something Saiyan sounding, possibly.

I mean, Beerus once referred to Bulma as "Mrs. Vegeta".

Not sure if that would carry any weight.

There exists a custom in some super-formal and old-fashioned settings of referring to a married couple as Mr. and Mrs. John Doe. It's mostly done in weddings nowadays, but in the past, the wife would literally become Mrs. [Husband's full name]. Beerus may have been doing this.

And who's to say Saiyan culture has not evolved on all the centuries they were in the fleet? Ship bonds may prove tighter than older family clans, with the pilgrimage system.

I think "vas" is the prefix used for denoting which ship the Quarian belongs to I.E. "Tali'Zorah Vas Normandy", "Nar Rayya" is the term used for Quarians who haven't yet finished their Pilgrimage and been accepted into one of the crews of the Migrant Fleet ships.

Canon Omake: First Contact
stuff bruh. u evil wot?

There were a lot of higher powers in the Universe. That much, Kohri understood. At least, in the sense that some could not be counted by the Scouter. Of these many things, Kohri was pretty sure that one such beings was after his ass with a vengeance. It began with who the Overseers had grouped him with. One, an excitable idiot. The other, a meek idiot. Both were weak, well below the average the graduating class had. The next had been the unfortunate collision with space debris. It had rocked the Pods they were on enough that their flight pattern had been changed.

What might have been the worst outcome from all of this was that, due to that galactic mishap, Kohri's Pod found itself lodged in a different planet. The damage left the vehicle intact and functioning, albeit the communication system looked like it needed work to repair. Nothing a few hours couldn't fix, surely. Stuck in a different planet with no one but himself to talk to. Kohri imagined that it could have definitely gotten worse.

He could have been stuck in the same group as the Princess.

The mere thought flared his temper. Teeth gnashed together as he did his level best not to just kick the Pod's door off the hinges. A breath. Another. Right. There were better things to focus his Anger on. Like getting stronger, and subjugating this Planet. The Fleet had no need for the weaker species inhabiting it. Cohabitation with those aliens was as far as he was willing to let the subject go. But bowing? To pathetic lesser races? He'd rather blow this place like the First Generation did to their home planet!

The disgusting climate certainly helped worsen his mood. Not even a speck of civilization as far as the eye can see. And even the Pod needed time to figure out the samples he had returned. Had to figure just which Planet he found himself in. In the mean time, Kohri began to tick off the mental list for necessities. He may have enough rations to last a week, but that was far from ideal. Which meant he needed to find everything else. Finally, a bit of luck, given the abundance of foliage. It probably meant that there was a source of nutrition in the area.

Probably things he had to kill for food too.

Of course, given his luck, he found himself standing in a clearing with three...humanoid looking things? He cared little for what they were, no what they were here for. All he saw were a bunch of lower life forms scuttling around a source of water that he had already claimed for himself. His Father's Scouter blinked to life. His focus on the gadgetry instead of whatever noises the things were making. All in the range of the 250s. A three on one may have proven to be difficult before he left the fleet. With his most recent defeat however, he had easily double the strongest of the three of them.

This wasn't even going to be fight.

Such sentiment was proven correct when disgusting green blood began to flow from the lead alien's gut. It did not help that there was a fist sized hole in there. Nor did the blast of raw energy help matters any. With bloodied efficiency, Kohri reached out again. He may have been smaller than the three of them, but his hand was just big enough to get a good grip on their necks. One loud crunch later, a lolled head, and the remains of the aliens had bowed in what he thought looked like surrender. Of course, he didn't quite understand what exactly they were saying so it could have just been a plot of some sort.

He approached the farthest one with caution. Every movement a calculated action in case there was some kind of trap that he had not foreseen. Yet when all he heard was more of the repeated word, he imagined that no, there was no hidden trap or scheme or plan in all this. And given how weak these things were, he doubted they'd be of any significant trouble in the future.

Still, it was for the best that things did not go out of hand.

Two quick crunches later, and Kohri had pilfered the humanoids equipment to gather the water for him. The corpses were thrown wherever else in the forest. Would probably make good bait for any scavengers out there. Would make his succeeding hunts easier too, given there'd be a trail to follow.

The biggest question now though was if the Fleet would have any use for this kind of planet? Given he hadn't died the moment he stepped off the Pod, Kohri was confident that the place was at least habitable for his species. The gravity was just slightly stronger than the one used at the Fleet, but not so much that it had him kissing the ground like some plebeian.

Ah well. A question that could be answered after a bit more exploration.

Against All Odds: Again and again, Kohri had been given a hand less than ideal; from broken families to insufficient breeding. Yet even with such limitations, he ceaselessly strives to reach past every horizon his eyes have set upon. Adds value to all rolls when placed against disadvantageous odds.

Relentless: Through every situation imaginable, Kohri will only stop going for his goal when he's dead. Adds value to all rolls when overall health is below 50%;

Success Is All That Matters: Motto of his family. All else is irrelevant when compared to the cost of success. Adds value to all rolls when going for a clear goal.

Merciless: No inch will be given. No quarter changed. All must face the maximum consequences of their actions. Adds value to all rolls against weakened targets; unswayed by notions of forgiveness or pleas of the same kind.

Zealous: Diligent cranked up to 11.

Tossed some flavor traits for the guy just cause.

Start Year One: You're not the only Aliens?
X] Take his hand.
-[X] Introduce ourself.
-[x] He has to have a name, what is it?
-[x] You have SO MANY QUESTIONS! Like, why's he even here. And what's Vega Corp?

Start Year One: You're not the only Aliens?

Your Rite of Passage has thoroughly begun, on a rather strange footing. Thus, starts year one of six to ten.

You gaze into the boys eyes as his hand remains outstretched before you. You know you have an expression of shock on your face. This boy, who doesn't even know who you are is offering his hand to help you up. Your mind races as you stare up at him.

You raise your hand, and grab on. He smiles gently at you as he pulls you to your feet. You take a breath, and a moment to collect yourself. Surely, he must speak a language similar to your own.

Though, what would you say?
Hi, I'm Soko, I'm a Princess on an interstellar fleet that sends their children off into space to earn their rights to be adults? Could work. But probably not.

No, you'll be formal and respectful about this. You are a
guest on his planet after all. Okay maybe he doesn't own it but he lives here, and you don't.

"
Hello," You speak the word with the confidence befit only a Saiyan Princess, and continue, "My name is Soko, and who may I ask you are?"

It takes him a second to gather his thoughts. Maybe he di-

"
My name's Sean, Sean Vega."

So he does speak the same language. Check.

Before you you can say anything else, he walks over to Chaya and aids her to her feet as well. And he then proceeds to do the same with Colby. They also introduce themselves as well.

The boy walks around in front of you, crossing his arms.

"
I imagine you have a few questions, so let me get them out of the way. No, I'm not from this planet. This is a colony we humans have set up. Or, well, my father's corporation did some time ago. Vega Corp. Most prestigious company back on Earth. Maker's of the most advanced tech you could dream of. Though, saying as you three are space faring as well. . . I suppose that might not be much compared to you. Different tech altogether."

He takes a glance at your scouter, and then continues, "
That right there's several things. Communications between the three of you, rangefinder, recorder, threat analyzer. Probably also allows you to control those ships of yours. Am I right?"

This kid's smart, that's for sure. You find yourself throwing a glance at Chaya and Colby. The two of them look confused and Colby outright looks kind of terrified.

You then nod, looking him in the eyes, "
Yes, you're right.." You then take a moment, and continue, "You said you're not from here, right? That this is just a colony?"

That certainly changes things up a bit. Not what you were expecting. . .
though that does open up a great possibility later down the road if you three play your cards right.

"Yes, like you. Most everyone here is an alien to this planet. Well, unless they were born here but that's beside the point. I'm well aware that you're all three aliens, and also not used to the gravity here. Though, I have to ask, why are you here?"

Time to be-

"
We're off on our Rite of Passage," Colby blathers out, and you shoot him a look.

Sean tilts his head, and then nods, muttering to himself.

"
-Rite of Passage. . .Culture of self-discovery through exploration-"

"
As he was saying, the three of us are on our Rite of Passage from our Fleet. When you said space faring, well. . . That's it. We live among the stars."

No point in hiding it now. And this kids probably about as close to a diplomat as you're going to get what with him being the son of some high ranking man.

"
Hm. Neat. To be fair I'm just surprised it took alien life this long to reach us."

This interaction is. . . Odd, to be certain. You either expected no people, or a lot of people. Instead, you find yourself face to face with this. . Kid Genius?

"
So, the three of you sent on your Rite of Passage. There's more of you out there on their own? And are all of you so… Young?"

Chaya pitches in this time, "
Yeah that's right. Sent in groups of threes to different planets at a young age. Out in the unknowns of space for six to ten years. Gotta get strong, and find something to help those back home. Some decide they like it too much out in space and never go back. Some don't."

Sean nods, and then he speaks up, "
You're lucky you landed here instead of Earth. Not as much surveillance. Not as many people. You'd have been swarmed and possibly captured by now. Depending on who found you. Probably for the best that it was me."

"
And what do you mean by that?" Chaya's gritty voice spoke up as she managed to walk up next you.

Sean deadpans, looking Chaya in the eyes.

"
I helped you up and I'm about to take the three of you to my house and feed you. Some of my father's company would have tied you up and taken you off for experimenting. If you haven't noticed, I don't have a tail. I also don't have spiky hair. Nor, is my skin as red as his. We humans do not have those traits. You look similar enough that you could pass as one of us if you dressed differently. And yes, I have noticed your armor. I imagine if you would, or could kill me, you'd have done it by now."

You nod your head. So, there was a part of him that was slightly worried that you were hostile. Time to be upfront with this.

"
Look, Sean. My people live on a space fleet because our homeworld is uninhabitable. Centuries ago my ancestors waged a war that. . ." You take a breath, gathering yourself. "They were stupid and cost us all a planet to live on. Now we go to space to become stronger, and forge alliances. We have this armor because our people are a warrior race. We fight. We crave combat. It's what we do. It's how we are."

Sean looks you over, and then sees the symbol on your chest. He takes a look at Colby and Chaya's. His mind works fast as he quickly snaps another question off.

"
The other two don't have that symbol. What's it mean?"

"
It's my father's emblem. He's our King."

The air fills with silence for a second there.

"
So, what are you, some kind of Space Princess?"

Chaya starts giggling at how he said it. You glare at her for a moment before returning his gaze.

"
Yes. I am. And I don't really expect that holds very much here."

Sean genuinely looks nonplussed about it.

"
Some people might if you tell them about the fact that you're an alien space princess, though I don't think that now's the time. Earth's got some turmoil and. . ." He cuts himself off, turning around heading back towards his jeep. He motions for you to follow, and speaks, "If you can hide those ships, do it. Convincingly. As I said. We have pretty decent tech."

You look back to Chaya and Colby, the two of them nod to you before you all pull out the controls to the space pods. After punching in a few command codes, the trio of space pods fly off in different directions.

You take a slow, but steady step forward as you approach Sean's jeep. Gravity's still having an impact on you. All in all, it takes you a decent amount of time to get to the vehicle. Once you do, Sean helps the three of you into the vehicle before he starts the engine. It's not a mighty roar, but it's something.

He hits the gas and the car starts off slowly. Probably because he doesn't want to accidentally tip you out the back. The drive's slow and quiet as you take a look in the vehicle.

There's all sorts of bags in it, different devices and even what appears to be a rifle. Probably for either his own self-defense or possibly to get food. You also take in your surroundings. It's. . . Very mountainous. The air's light. But it's breathable. You didn't immediately start to choke, so there's that.

The car pulls along the side of a river as he continues down the path. You look over and see an animal on all fours, face first in the water attempting to catch fish. Your scouter informs you that it's a bear.

Like you didn't already know that.

Soon enough, you catch glimpse of a small cabin. Sean pulls his car up in front of it, and then stops the engine. He hops out. This time, you and the other two manage to get out on your own. Though, Colby eats the dirt again. Both you and Chaya chuckle.

The cabin's small, with a blue paint on the outer walls.

"
This is where I stay when I'm here. It's isolated, and off on it's own. My dad knows about it, but no one else in the Corp does."

You nod, as you follow him inside. It's small, but decently cozy. A front room with a fireplace, with a singular couch. It's connected to the kitchen, which is also small. And the fridge is
tiny compared to what you're used to back on the fleet.

Uh oh.

You can hear your stomach grumble as you process that thought. The kitchen's connected to a hallway which you imagine leads to a bathroom and his own room.

Sean catches your attention as he steps into the kitchen.

"
Hungry?"

You have learned that the planet of Indran is actually a colony of humans, who hail from the planet Earth.

Acquaintance Gained!

Sean Vega[Friendly?]: You've met a boy by the name of Sean Vega, who's a human from Earth who's out on the human colonial planet of Indran. He's helped the three of you to your feet and is now offering to feed you. He seems decent enough.

Colby trait learned!
