Of Stars and Melodies - A Girls Band Party Quest (No Setting Knowledge Needed!)

There are other factors as well

like you could argue in terms of synergy the explore options, which I'd argue are

Do note some options keep you relatively within the same general vicinity... and others take you to other parts of Tokyo, so there is a difference - the difference of braving the labyrinth of Tokyo wider rail system and the difference of sticking to one to two tramstops from the two schools. There is even one if you read the blurb carefully that might take you right out of Tokyo.

Shame Michiko is busy right now ....

But another way to think of it though is to think in terms of what you think Hibiki ought to priortize right now. With nine possibilities and only time for three, prioritisation might be the better approach.

Just checking - would it be easier to vote if approval voting (vote for as many choices as you like, top three wins) is enabled?

Well, aside from getting to know her bandmates, I'd say my other priority is....

[] The keys to the future

to get the keyboard stuff in order. The answer of "What kind of keyboardist do you want to be?" feels too significant to Hibiki to ignore.

[] Investigative Journalism
[] Vocal Training

Between the two bandmates, Michiko would be the one I'd like to get to know more; The description even pointed out that we haven't spend much time with her yet. On the other hand, after last practice, I'd think Hibiki would feel the need to improve on her vocals a bit more, which Yuki provides. Between the two, the combination of Yuki and keyboard provides the synergy of self-improvement (at least that's how I see it).

[] Between tarmac, silver and brass

Aside from getting to know Chou, we get introduced to other character/s (and potential bandmates). While finding a bassist isn't at the top of my priority list (especially since we haven't properly interacted with the other bassist characters Michiko and Hibiki found from their info-gathering), booking a schedule in advance is still nice.

[] Tea, cake, and the prelude to a walkabout

Interacting with Aya to me feels low priority especially since we've hang out every other time. On the other hand, she could offer input/support on the practice session. Also more new people.

[] Explore the dungeon 2: the re-dungeoning

We get to know other school clubs we may or may not want to join. I'd say this is a chance to look for bassist candidates and get to know them. Also that dialogue with Hikawa sounds like a funny scene incoming.

[] Shopping trip?

Not very high on my priorities, though interesting deals have its advantages.

[] The path of stars
[] The center of the world

Exploration ahoy!.....*squints*
I'm guessing "The path of stars" has the possibility of taking Hibiki out of Tokyo. Seems interesting.
On the other hand, the blurb dialogue of "center of the world" sounds fun.

There are several ways Hibiki can see this issue, but keep in mind this is probably a very significant decision/ monetary expenditure for Hibiki, which frankly is one of the several reasons why she'd have to do research on this issue among several others. The philosophical/personal aspects and introspective opportunities offered here are a legitimate and very interesting perspective though , in the know thyself sense. Hibiki doesn't need to immediately replace her keyboard in the short-run, so this option isn't likely going to simply disappear after this weekend.

Both are very explicitly and unambiguously band-centric events from the social-perspective, so don't forget the potential synergy of taking Investigative Journalism and Vocal Training together. You could lock in your votes for both right now (to maximize the chance at least one get's in), and then once Sideral makes a ruling about approval voting (if I'm not wrong, there's a so many good options problem here), then approval vote for other options if you choose.

Worth noting - knowing when the next band practice is so early on, will clear up for Hibiki just how much free-time she has next week.

When Chou suggest Hibiki is only seeing half the picture with regard to the hunt for band members (and this goes beyond a bassist), she sincerely means it, though as the option states, you've got to roll for what you find.

[] Tea, cake, and the prelude to a walkabout

Interacting with Aya to me feels low priority especially since we've hang out every other time. On the other hand, she could offer input/support on the practice session. Also more new people.

This one was tailored for those who might want more Aya (oh boy, you'd get a lot more Aya), though it's competing with other priorities. It's also the result of hanging around so much with Aya in the first 0.4 Band stories.

[] Explore the dungeon 2: the re-dungeoning

We get to know other school clubs we may or may not want to join. I'd say this is a chance to look for bassist candidates and get to know them. Also that dialogue with Hikawa sounds like a funny scene incoming.

It's explicitly Explore the Dungeon 2 after all. Clubs also run during the School week too.

[] Shopping trip?

Not very high on my priorities, though interesting deals have its advantages.

Don't forget the other aspect of Hibiki's spending time with her family, whom Hibiki is shaped by. Know thyself might figure into this.

[] The path of stars
[] The center of the world

The bonus may change from week to week. Also, what is Hibiki doing in Akihabara, the capital of Otakudom and Electrical Town, anyway? Once again, note you can invite someone in Center of the World.

I want to spend time with our bandmates outside of practice sessions. Maybe once our band is more established, I'll feel safer about skipping options for them, but right now feels like a pretty critical time for building bonds. Chou-san is a prospective band member who seems to have important information Hibiki will need to know for the band to do well so that's my third vote.

While I'd like to research keyboards, we can do that pretty easily during the week along with exploring the shopping district and checking out the school clubs. We might not get the same encounters/bonuses, but earlier encounters/bonuses aren't necessarily better than later ones. While I'd like to spend time with Hibiki's mom, hopefully she'll be ok with being put off for a bit while we work on our band, at least if we make sure to choose her relatively soon afterwards. Finally, exploring Tokyo is a low priority right now compared to working on our band and exploring nearby.

Approval voting
The keys to the future may have some synergy with shopping trip, if you want. Of course it may also have some synergy with a trip to Edogawa Music later in the week, which would save you some time for something else this weekend, depending on your choices.

Anyway, some good points have been made, hence I'm shifting to approval voting for this - aka vote for as many options as you want, the three most voted options will win.

Also, as I often say, I like to take the pulse of the thread discussion to inform Hibiki's thought process, so if you have interesting plans or synergy ideas, feel free to discuss them~

We need some perspective. Like whether what we pulled is actually good or bad, how we compare to actual singers, maybe trade tips. Also, some way to improve.

[X] Between tarmac, silver and brass
Well, we just don't know about her much, at all. Plus, would means our next workday a bit free-r, which is a plus.

[X] Explore the dungeon 2: the re-dungeoning
We do still need a bassist. Come to think of it, we really do. Might as well make this a priority.

[X] Tea, cake, and the prelude to a walkabout
I like Aya, and an excuse to spend time with her is good. Also, getting to know more PasuPare, and by extension, the web of relationship from there. Sure, it works with any other character, but so far we seems to have deeper headway with them.

Also, it'd make Yuki jealous, which is a plus.

[X] Investigative Journalism
We're going to same school, we probably can bug her there.

[X] The keys to the future
Not strictly necessary anytime soon, but having it in the back of our head and mulled over isn't a bad idea.

Come on folks, we just need a bassist and our band would (provisionally) complete!
I'd rather spend time with our current members and one possible member (Chou) first, especially during the weekend when Hibiki can presumably go on longer outings than on a school day. We don't know Michiko very well yet, Yuki's option might improve Hibiki's ability to sing, and Chou's option suggests that Hibiki is missing a lot of what's involved in being part of a band. Let's work on what we already have on our plates before trying to throw something new into the mix.

Voting for a bunch, including a couple that haven't been touched upon yet.

I agree Vocal Training should be prioritized, if we're gonna commit to being a singer, plus exploring Shinjuku and what looks to be karaoke shenanigans with some apparently familiar people sounds like a good time? Also, getting info on rebuilding our keyboard would probably be important as well.

I really like our budding friendship with Aya, and getting to meet more of PasuPare (because that would be one of the only things that would make Yuki insanely jealous) would be nice. Though we could try and combine this with The Path of Stars since meeting her at Hazawa Coffee would be easy enough, and I crave more canon character interaction. Especially since that preview was hinting at Aglow stuff with Ran and maybe Moca, plus a Stargazing tour makes me think Kasumi immediately, so maybe more PoPiPa as well, especially if we stop in by Yamabuki Bakery if Moca is involved, though Hagumi might make an appearance too through a Kitazawa Meats cameo too. I trust our QM to be able to write something that involved.

Of course looking for a bassist at Hanasakigawa is important too, and I wanna see what kind of costume weirdness Sayo was forced into there.

Also, exploring Akiba would probably be hilarious, especially since it looks like Ako will be involved, because there's only one person in this franchise as chuuni as her with those speech patterns, plus the whole weeb holy land thing I can live vicariously through too.

I guess I'm more interested in franchise stuff than band creation unlike a lot more people here apparently, what with @Andmeuths joining the Quest team now and being unable to back me up in franchise character based voting lol.

Kinda off topic, but as this is the closest thing we have to a Bandori general thread, Shirokane Rinko's seiyuu, Shizaki Kanon, aka Nonchan, has tested positive for Covid:
www.animenewsnetwork.com

BanG Dream! & D4DJ Voice Actress Kanon Shizaki Diagnosed With COVID-19

Shizaki has no symptoms so far but will miss Monday event to undergo treatment

Hope she has a mild case and recovers quickly and it doesn't effect her future performances or vocal work. Covid infections are no joke, it was damned unpleasant for me last month and even now I still feel super tired all the time...

Welcome to the quest @HavocKeeper, @Drasis !

The charsheet has been updated further with profiles for Kanon, Hina and Chou.

Yeeesh, I heard 4/5ths of Roselia were in isolation but I didn't know Shizaki Kanon had outright tested positive. I wish her a quick recovery. IIRC Tomo-chin got it too last year.

Ouch, I didn't know you caught Covid too - thank goodness you're fine now. I wish you a full recovery and all the best!

Hmm, it looks like Michiko has fallen out of the top 3, in favor of Hibiki researching on Keyboards this week-end. Vocal Training and Tarmac, Silver and Brass both have clear but slim leads. Vote is still very, very close, so each vote counts.

@GhostStalker intuition about the potential linkages between Path of Stars and Tea & Cakes is leaning in the right direction, though remember, due to things such as rolls and decisions, actions can play out in a variety of ways. Let's just say that the butterfly effect is active and leave it at that.

Let's pray that Non-chan recovers without complications, and the rest of Roselia remain free of Covid.

Some vote options are time limited by nature, some are available for longer, but their nature and context changes with the passing of time, so they don't quite stay the same - especially now that things like your everyday life and your band haven't fallen into a routine yet. This also means that some vote options have synergy with others. Also, Hibiki is obviously going to have more free time on weekends than during the week, so spend this opportunity well.
I'm not sure why researching keyboards is ahead of spending time with Michiko since Michiko has a time limit for the article, and Hibiki can research keyboards any time. Don't you all want to see if there's synergy between all of the "spending time with band members" options?

Ironically it's because you're all voting for the same things, so anyone who doesn't vote for an option shifts the balance. As things stand, if anyone of you has an option they'd like to win, the counter-intuitive thing to do is to remove one of the other options from your vote (and wait and see if someone else removes another option from their own vote to counter your move :p ).

Remember that actions like Investigative Journalism and Vocal Training are not just abstractions, they are actual requests from the others to Hibiki of various natures - be they a request to spend time together, to be shown something, or an outright request for help. Inevitably, Hibiki is going to turn down someone this weekend, or maybe even two people for a reason or several.

At the least, she's going to have to quite possibly say to Aya: I'm sorry, I'm busy right now getting to know my new band better, we have social engagements planned this weekend. Aya probably would understand, she herself did tell Hibiki to break the ice with her band after all just last morning in quest-time.

So the issue really boils down to what makes Hibiki prioritize one action over another, in this case, the two/three actions in consideration being Exploring the Dungeon (6 votes), Keys to the Future (7 Votes), Investigative Journalism (7 Votes). Which is more important to Hibiki and why?

- Building the social relations of the band and answering a request for help
- Embarking on the personal quest to replace her keyboard,
- Exploring the clubs with an eye to knowing the school better, and possibly making progress to completing her band

Hibiki can do only one of these, and her choice does have implications on who Hibiki is as a person. And likely, the options that narrowly miss out would likely be quite salient on her mind still going into the next week (depending on whether events have overtaken some of these considerations).

Should Hibiki focus on consolidating the ones already in her band, should Hibiki focus on finishing her band, or should Hibiki focus right now on her own issues with an eye to self-improvement? Decisions, Decisions....but very telling ones.
