So...update notes:
Sheikah Slate: magic PDF document scanner with AI we still don't really have in the real world. Cool!
Aww shucks you mean we're not going to do the whole "I borrowed a book from the castle town library and it's now, uhh, six months overdue oops" thing?
Map update!
Lots of people in Lanayru. Low citizen count, and all of them rich. Zoras with topaz-encrusted shock collars. Oh, yes, I'm going to enjoy walking in there and setting things right, because there's approximately all of it that's wrong. Rice fields and mining employ lots of people and make them suffer. What's betting there's some kind of debt-slavery trick, or a "company store putting you further in debt than you can get out by working" trick going on?
If the Empire's crack troops are here, that probably means that the "feral" Zoras are more of a Zora Resistance.
Propaganda! The Empire is great at propaganda, so pretty much none of these books can be trusted with regard to the Empire or what came before.
Particularly...if the Zoras "didn't offer their healers", then how did the Queen and her handmaidens die "under their care"? That's an extremely basic inconsistency that anybody with a level of reading comprehension should have questioned.
Considering the Empire doesn't provide extreme detail on the deaths of the prince and princess (and slanders them), "struck down" could be that they were wounded and then they fled into the water, the Empire figuring "nobody could survive that". The King probably went crazy with grief and the Duke rolled in and stomped everything under his control.
Old non-Empire data! Hey, finally something we can trust! Whiiiiich says that the Zora siblings were probably CHILDREN. Okay, now I'm really going to enjoy going in there and setting things right, complete with eviscerating the Duke.
So Dad was good friends with the King. Whiiiich explains why he felt like he lost everything and decided to go home.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Seagull. Marin. And Dad came from the Wolf side of the family.
More propaganda. Canonize the darling of the people and cast blame on everyone else (rather neatly getting both king and queen in one swoop).
I wouldn't be surprised if the Yiga came for Zelda and her father protected her while she ESCAPED through the moat.
As for the vote?
[X] Hug Her.
[X] We don't have time to talk. We must leave immediately.
We need to get out so that we can talk on the road so the breakdown happens well away from the city.
