I forget, where's Tab-er, Charlotte at this point?
Edit:
Man, Isabella is starting to channel the Queen of Hearts a little intensely here, might want to look into nipping that in the bud before she starts beheading people just because Tuesday is now executions day.
Time for "with great power comes great responsibility"?

She was mentioned a few updates ago:
"Yuck," Louise mumbled, "you're acting like Wardes and Cattleya," she shook her head, even as behind Isabella a few young girls -Charlotte among them too- came forward with tiny giggles. They were either Isabella's age or younger, which made it clear that I was probably the oldest one present here...

Bull. Victims makes monsters happy all the time without being happy themselves. In fact it is their misery which makes those Monsters happy. For instance if, hypothetically, there where a person who had kidnapped a person to feed them their own body parts in a smoothie via a tube down the throat because their facial expressions amused him/her, well the miserable person is still making someone happy and that is a wonderful thing?

I was talking about loving families and friend, not monster like the one you described.
Even if it was a good method of torture.

I, on the other hand, had to actively find stuff to do in order not to bore myself to death, although as long as I had quill and parchment, I was set up for life.
What is this?! Herasy! How have you not mincrafted the hell out of your estate and made yourself a lava lair, or even started an industrial revolution! As an SI you are failing, for shame.

The Plot so far have been mostly slice of life. Now, in this new arc there's more likely to be more "meaningful" events given the change in context.

Furthermore, to be honest, a lot of the elements that these 60 chapters set would come incredibly forced if they had been set on a off-screen backstory, at least in a fanfic. Suddenly Karin is (slightly) more chill, Wardes is actually a bro and engaged to Cattleya instead of Louise, the protagonist is married to Isabella and drinking buddy with "Mad King" Joseph? Can you imagine a fanfic that started having all those?
Actually can you imagine having the fanfic start from Louise's perspective? Like right after the familiar summoning ritual?

We'd've all cried foul at this blatant OC who's gone and changed everything with little rhyme or reason.

So, we're like sixty chapters in and I still don't know what the plot is.

I know what the premise is but.... Seriously what the hell is the plot? It's like a bunch of ideas all smashed together by a toddler who didn't know that the "hippo" he's making is just a flat peice of play do.

And boy that is a weird metaphor.
The plot is basically Henry trying to stay alive and happy while also keeping people from killing each other.

The two options are sadly, for the most part, mutually exclusive.

What are protestants in ZnT? I'm assuming that there has been no abrupt carpentry on any church doors yet.
The LNs never entered the details of the theological differences or the origins of protestantism, although it is somewhat implied that they are more commoner friendly. Also, the Brimiric church (and the kingdoms in general) seem to take extreme measures whenever they pop out. Maybe in Germania there are places where they are more accepted and prevalent, but in the four Brimiric nations, they seem be treated in a mix of how the Spanish Inquisition treated heretics and Stalin treated his political enemies...

It just occurred to me that the Papacy in znt keeps track of and manipulates bloodlines so void mages always pop up in specific kingdoms
But Isabella and Henry are the daughter and brother of the current generation of void mages respectively; should Louise; Cattleya and Eleanore provide no heirs then the next generation of void mages would likely have two appear in the Gallian nobility

At the very least the lineage could have one child more powerful than the rest
With this train of thought it seems logical to imagine the Pope might be conspiring to end that lineage prematurely

This sort of meetings were low-key, and unless a knight of Isabella's retinue spoke, it was unlikely that a plot might ever be hatched to see me dead.
These sorts of meetings were
"The difference is that I like fire dragons, but I'm not an enthusiast on religious matters," Joseph said with a snort,
not as enthusiastic on
Hm. Wonder how this squishing of a religious rebellion shall turn out...

So I'm definitely getting some hard Yan vibes from Isabella but then, when Henry is her cuddly-wuddly-smoopy-woopy-huggly-buggly sweety pie and something hurts him it's all bets off. Funny thing is, I get this image of Isabella being this cool, shrewd, leader with a masterful grasp of economics and policy making, well loved and respected by all right up until something happens with Henry and then the crazy comes out.

Oddly enough, from what I've seen, Henry is playing up the chill Prince/King image, where he's all smiles and happiness and jokes and whatnot, right up until someone pisses him off. Then he gets off the throne, casually hands his cape to Isabella and gives her a smooch, draws his swordwand and then proceeds to wreck the shit out of said someone up and down the throne room with contemptible ease. Then goes back, gets his cape, gives Isabella another smooch and sits down, all while the court looks on in horror at the bloody smear that is whoever pissed Henry off.
