Because it'll be interesting to see how people react to this if Aizen doesn't go the evil bastard route, and doesn't completely lie about his shikai.

Kido is actually suppose to be at Student already, so 100 XP on it would only get us halfway to Competent. Whereas the Zanjutsu vote makes it a Favored Skill, so we only need to hurl 100 XP to rank it up again.

@stairmaster: The character sheet still says Kido is Untrained.

Seeing as Favored Status reduces XP Requirement by 50% and we in actuality have Student Kido going by the update, how about this instead?

-[] 100 XP to Zanjutsu
-[] 200 XP to Shikai
-[] 100 XP to Reiryoku Control
-[] 200 XP to Hoho

This way we get 4 very useful/valuable skills to Competent aka Junior Seated Officer rank. If we're close enough to punch people with Hakuda, then so are they. Whereas we don't know any Kido Spells, save for one that's very obviously a Shiba Clan technique.

Yeah, going all out on Shikai right now wouldn't be very productive, since having 4 Competent Skills is more important than a majority of Student Rank + 1 Adept Skill.

Taking in acount new updated character sheet this should be better version of the plan. Can you guys critique me if I miss somthing?

@stairmaster: So regarding the Zanjutsu / Hakuda options, do they give a fixed amount of XP or just enough to rank up? If they give a +100, then we only need 49 to get Competent Zanjutsu.

@exerty: Personally, I don't think Student Hakuda will be that major. Better to rank up Reiryoku to Competent with that XP. Besides that, unless Competent Kido gives us free spells, throwing that at Hoho would be better.

I just got caught up with this quest, I'm loving it.

But there is a lack of Lisa Love, and this cannot stand. Also, I think Shunsui will be a good influence on Aizen if he actually joins the 8th division.

Hm~ so I didnt miss anything math wise good to know as your criquing choices not my admitedly basic math ability. This is just a reporpuse of the old vote to fit new sheet not really changing the core of it so I wont touch that.

I mean, most likely the Trained Zanjutsu option just gives us enough XP for a Rank Up. So 49 XP wouldn't be enough for Competent Zanjutsu. Really, if we want to maximize Hakuda, higher Hoho would let us get close and then back away so we could regularly use it.

Still, we definitely do want higher Kido, but we should really make sure we could use it or if we need specific spell training. If we don't get spells for free with Competent Kido, then best to use that XP elsewhere.

If you're going to write them, then... Hmm, I am amused by Aizen awkwardly trying to explain to Kaname he sort-of has a crush on his own sword.
 
You keep the exp already invested if you up a rank with one of the training options. So zanjustu would become student (51/100) and then the exp would be spent.

Hmm, nothing to really spend 50 XP on though, since the Iaijutsu Technique is 75... Do we have any Kido Spells for free with Student Kido, and/or would we get any for free with Competent Kido?

Kido works like this: each rank unlocks the twenty spells. Each rank also increases the amount of spells you can do without an incantation by ten. So at competent you'd be able to do hado 1-20 without an incantation and be able to reliably cast with an incantation up to 40. (I'm going to probably mess with this a bit tho)

Also since there's a bunch of spells that never get revealed with canon I will accept submissions from the readers and ones that get accepted will get 10xp(should be manageable with the size of the readerbase rn).
