Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid

I don't usually watch a lot of anime, but I decided to give this series a go.
After watching it, I thought it was...decent, but also flawed.

I liked most of it. The characters were good, the emotional moments were done well, the visuals were nice...
But then there are these running gags that just kept taking me out of the story. They either made me kind of uncomfortable or just plain annoyed.
Like the "Lucoa has big boobs that crush people" joke that got repeated about a billion times. Or the "Kanna touches that other girl and she ends up going ballistic" joke that kept happening. They're not even variations of the same joke. Just the same joke repeated over and over again. It's too bad, too. Since many of the jokes they don't repeat can actually be pretty funny. That's something I've noticed with a bunch of anime. Where the running gags almost feel like a tax I have to pay to get to the actual good parts. I get that different people have different preferences in comedy, but that part just didn't click for me. It never got to the point where I just wanted to stop watching, but it was enough to get on my nerves at times.

So, I finished watching it. While it's not without flaw, of course, it was still completely adorable.
 
You know, I just realized something.

I know that Kobayashi "thinks" Santa doesn't exist, but going by what Tohru said he definitely does. Seeing as how Earth is populated with tons of magical creatures seeking hiding out with humans, it wouldn't be that far-fetched to see Santa as someone who exists on Earth.

But the point I want to get to is why Santa didn't visit Kanna--because we know Kanna is a good girl.

AND THAT'S BECAUSE THE FIREPLACE WAS BURNING! YOU HAVE TO PUT OUT YOUR FIREPLACE! THAT'S HOW SANTA KNOWS WHEN YOU'RE ASLEEP!

Also he would burn his ass.
 
So....

What would happen if there was a crossover between this show and Godzilla?

Additionally. I was just in Japan and I can confirm that there is now hentai of Kanna.

Japan no. Japan, what are you doing? Japan, stahp.

I think I might actually seen one from before the anime was made.

And mind you, that means there were enough that they could cross over to western sites.

I've only seen pictures, but not a full-blown hentai doujin. I only saw the cover and the back cover because they seal all of their books with plastic wrap in Japan. It is considered disrespectful to browse without buying, so they seal almost everything unlike in Western bookstores like in the US.

There was a hentai doujin about male-Kobayashi and Tohru, but when I went to Japan I saw a Kanna doujin for the first time.

Stahp Japan. Kanna is the daughteru. :(

So, uh... does anyone else feel sorry for Kobayashi and Kimihito in regards to this team up?

    official staff communication I don't care what you get up to in your own time, but this, combined with your recent, totally unnecessary news about the fan porn industry, is getting SERIOUSLY creepy, dude.     Oh whoops. I didn't mean it that way. There's been a growing amount of fan art for grown-up Kanna and Saikawa, so I've been thinking about writing a fic that explores their relationship more as they grow up and go to high school together because their relationship isn't really covered all that much in the anime beyond "Kanna does something and Saikawa has lewd reactions". Forgive me. I'm currently super sleepy and didn't clarify in my previous post.

    Also it is working now. I feel that Tohru is going to have hard time getting Kobayashi to reciprocate her feelings even with Mia's help.

    As a odd thought: would Lamia's kind of regard Dragons as 'honored ancestors' or something? ;)
