[X] Scan the statues

Left Statue said:
Stylized chozo bust is holding a sphere with both stellar and egglike characteristics in its beak. The alcove beneath it depicts a chozopomorphic representation of the galaxy rolled around an egglike supermassive black hole, which in turn contains an embryo-like organism.

Central Statue said:
Stylized Brain-and-Eye icon. The alcove beneath it contains a pattern of sockets containing bioluminescent organisms, rhythmically changing their color and brightness. Pattern analysis indicates that the lights are designed to produce a state of hypnotic introspection in the watcher.

Working technology has been detected behind the statue, but it is not responding to any attempts to communicate. Mechanical analysis suggests that it requires additional power to operate, but lacks any power couplings to attach to, and is blocked off by unbreakable metal casing.

Right Statue said:
Stylized chozo head and torso, balancing the Plate of Existence on its hands. To the left of the statue is an engraving of a philosopher deep in contemplation, surrounded by flora and fauna. To the right is an engraving of a warrior equipped with an early Drynn-pattern battlesuit, aiming its armcannon at an unseen enemy.

The room beyond is wide, well lit, and filled with hovering spheres, each emitting a soft hum. The largests are easily big enough for you to stand on, while the smallests are marble-sized, and seem to be orbiting or moving between the larger spheres in an almost clockwork-like pattern. Dull reds and purples with bright silver boundaries shift luminously around the floating orbs. A gap in the floor opens onto a series of slopes and ramps.

(rolled 52, 64, 77, 49)

Before you can proceed, an autoad leaps up at you through the gap, forcing you to jump over it to evade. When it turns, you plant a missile in its faceplate, but are just barely unable to dodge a second leap from it before freezing and finishing it off when it next turns.

Unfortunately, the pair of lesser holtzes that follow it a moment later catch you by surprise, and one manages to leap onto your body and claw you before you wrestle it off and freeze it. The other, you manage to knock out of the air with your armcannon as it leaps, and freeze it a moment later (rolled 73, 24).

Fortunately, you manage to recover both missile components and energy from the dying hulks, so its a minimal net loss (ENERGY 380/400, MISSILES 43/55).

The spheres continue to hover and flit around each other before you with a soothing hum.

[X] Scan the spheres, and the features at both ends of the lower hall.
Err.. I don't think we can bait them through the door. There is a force field on the other side and they are not that dumb to charge into a visibly instant death. Nor any real reason to do so... standard tactics should work quite well in this room.
Yeah, I just like making environmental kills.

Spheres said:
Magnetically suspended spheres are telepathically receptive, and equipped with a network of simple computers. System does not appear to be a model of any natural or technological phenomenon, nor do the colors and placement of the spheres appear to serve any religious symbolism. It is likely that they are part of a game or recreational device of some kind.

A missile takes care of the blast shield. Beyond it is a medium sized room, by Tamatros standards. In the center is a recessed pit with padded walls and floors. Behind that is a large case full of staves, clubs, and bladed weapons of varying descriptions, and above that is a small platform with a seating cushion and a set of wires similar to - but much smaller and less intricate than - those of the Psi-Amplifier.

As you enter, a ghostly blue figure shimmers into existence inside the pit. Its at least a head taller than you, with the thick neck, broad hemispherical shoulders, and tapered beak of a chozo, but otherwise lacks any details or features whatsoever. It stands in place, regarding you silently with its eyeless, generalized chozo-shaped head.

You can easily step around the pit to investigate the rest of the room's contents, if you'd rather not approach the hologram.

It seems to be a normal hologram, as far as your metakinetic and radioscopic sensors can tell you. As soon as you try telepathic probing however, you are hailed. Once again, the quieter, more emotionless version of the Patrician's voice that you've heard from other automated systems.

"I see you have come alone. Enter the pit with your weapons of choice if you wish to spar with me. I will begin at level one."

[X] Scan weapons.
I assume that if the Chozo had melee weapons that'd be worth using, our suit would already have one, but it can't hurt to check.

Samus closes her eyes, reaching out beyond the veils of this mere material universe and into the great font of meta-knowledge that lies at the heart of all things.

Her conclusion is that it may be possible, yes.

I as asking in IC like for her to remmenber her sparring sessions with Grey Voice, and the way she got the Power Suit after fighting the chozo war god statue, but okay...

Regardless, we have a mission so we can't afford to play games right now. [snerk]

[x] Root through the ancient weapons but if we don't find anything of interest, leave this room and go through the bottom doorway.
