[X] BRAINRAINBOW
-[X] Dash between the remaining platforms, while shooting Ice+stacked and Missiles, and hope the metroids take more damage than you do.
[X] ATTACK
-[X] Keep pummeling the exposed spots with super missiles.
-[X] And if your blasts should happen to take out more of the armoured hull, all the better.
...
(rolled 64, 94, 55)
One metroid you freeze solid as you race to put a platform between yourself and Heir Apparent's main weapon. The other, unfortunately, comes around the other side just as the beam is beginning to fire, and you crash into it head on. It latches. You raise blindly between the remaining platforms, your energy meter tumbling downward all the way.
You do surprisingly well at avoiding the beam, considering. But the metroid damage is considerable by the time it gets blasted off as you dash between cover. (ENERGY 733/1,200)
The remaining platforms are still mostly intact. You're...well...mostly.
(rolled 71, 21, 22, 36)
Dazed and knocked to the ground as you are, you are unable to avoid the next volley of cluster bombs (ENERGY 713/1,200), but you still manage to plant a super missile in the surviving, frozen metroid just before it can unfreeze (wasteful, perhaps, but there wouldn't have been time to land five micromissiles before it unfroze), and then another one in one of Heir Apparent's exposed areas while leaping over its next stacked beam volley; a third super missile goes wide. You recover a little energy from one of the destroyed metroids, at least. (ENERGY 723/1,200, SUPER MISSILES 10/30)
(rolled 14, 29, 13, -4, 71, 68)
Another super missile, planted perfectly in the exposed ventral area. You avoid more beams, jump onto a surviving platform to get above a cluster bomb explosion, and then land two more in the open dorsal-right quadrant. You engage your repulsor to take flight again, but this time you aren't fast enough to avoid the charging ship as it covers its remaining armor sections in a screw attack field, knocking you off your platform in a blaze of damage, and a bomb connects just above floor level as you're catching yourself. (ENERGY 673/1,200, SUPER MISSILES 7/30)
(rolled 49, 17, 91, 9, 77, -5)
The shooting match continues, you and the vessel spinning around each other as fire is exchanged. You avoid taking any more hits, but likewise it manages to keep its exposed hull sections away from your super missiles. Being more liberal with them, you're able to land some consecutively on the dorsal left armor, at least, cracking away parts of it and promising to eventually expose more hull (section at 55%), but others it deflects entirely with its maneuverability or its screw attack fields. Your super missile ammo is running low, when it releases another four mochtroids (SUPER MISSILES 3/30).
(36, 89, 37, 32, 40, 60, 34, 56, 35)
You repeat your tactics from last time, and screw attack the incoming attackers to death while taking only a pair of hits from them and one opportunistic bomb from Heir Apparent when you cross below it (ENERGY 645/1,200). This leaves you well placed to plant another super missile in the Heir's open belly; clear fluids begin seeping from a network of hairline cracks on the smooth, primary hull. You dash out of the way when it slams itself downward, trying to screw attack you against the metal floor, and land another super missile - your second to last - in the opening on its back as you repulse your way up above it before it can rise again. (SUPER MISSILES 1/30)
One super missile left before your left with micro-missiles and beams. The Heir has taken damage, but its main body's structural integrity is still well above critical. It rises upward again, spinning to face you as it begins charging its hyper beam for another ruinous discharge. You're much closer to it this time, though.

You know, I'm disappointed that the dodge option hasn't been called Brainbow.

I'll misread it as "BRAINBOWRAINBOW" at least once per update.
For some reason my alerts gave me a "the OP has replied with 10 words" alert for that post, which I don't think it normally does for posts of that length unless they're threadmarked. I thought it was going to be an update post and I figured we must've rolled really well or really poorly for it to be so short.

Don't worry, the baby will swoop in at the last second and supercharge us... oh wait that already happened. Okay, the SA-X will come swooping in at the last second and... no?

In defiance of all logic and causality, you have arrived on the former chozo world of Tamatros and, finding the indigenous biomechanoid control system in a weakened and battle-damaged state, easily infested it. What shall you do with your newfound knowledge and production capabilities?

Oh boy I just remembered that Other-M fanfic idea where Samus in that game is actually an SA-X the federation recovered and brainwashed and the whole plot is basically Metal Gear Solid 2, metroid edition.
We can't stick to the unarmored sections. I mean, we could still hit one and get hit by the screw attack, but we shouldn't end up stuck on the armor in the middle of the screw attack I don't think.

[X] Be defeated by Samus Aran. Again. (Replay the Quest in Hard Mode.)
In seriousness, I'd like to hear how you think that would play out - would it have access to the Patrician's techbase in your variant? Would a fully-operational Patrician have been able to kill it? And I'm still interested in that explanation of SR388's biosphere, by the way.
