It's third stage tiberium and the local containment measures at the moment is pour more concrete on it. Hence the whole is spreading rapidly.

I can guarentee however that the scrin have nothing to do with the current accelerated growth, what so ever. It's just the locals accidently encouraging more growth because they have no idea what to do.
I was referring to the fact that it's already at stage 3 when it should be at stage 1.

Maybe it's an change in Scrin mining strategy due to the BETA?

Maybe most of the Scrin Harvesting Fleet for Earth's region of space is composed of Reaper-17 fanatics in the Muv-Luv verse?
Reaper 17 is merely a sect of the larger cult of the reaper force and even that is merely a fragment of the Scrin forces.

Judging from what footage we got of Tiberium an actual invasion force of the Scrin would be filled with creatures (or vehicles can't really tell) that can go toe to toe with grapplers and forts except they're equipped with energy weapons.

I bloody hate that EA canceled that game; be nice to actually see what the Scrin armies look like even if it wasn't an RTS.

Honestly, I think it's for the best that EA axed it when they did considering what they do to the studios and IPs they acquire. I mean, could you imagine what kind of abomination C&C 4 would be if it were a thing that existed?

Yeah; they'd probably try to kill the entire RTS genre if such a game flopped by arbitrarily declaring RTS dead when no buys their shitty games and then spend the next decade canceling every RTS project including the next C&C for no reason using such excuses such as "quality standards" when at the same time they release absolute dreck and then blame the developer for their own shitty management decisions and close the studio with no warning.

Sure glad that didn't happen or I would be absolutely livid at EA! :V

I wonder if NOD style optical stealth would work against the BETA or make it stand out more as the BETA have this weird detection system of using the technological complexity of an object to determine threat level and a stealth tank is high tech. Which is why dummy balloon system like in UC gundam dont work

You know. I think yezar's dedication to this quest is fanatical. He just told me that he typed the next update standing up whilst in a moving train.

Honestly, my best guess here is that Earth is now ground-zero between two hostile alien groups. The fact Tiberium is already at TW3 levels is troubling.

Well, yes. Stealth technology would have actually worked against the BETA. The thing is that Nod doesn't really have the tactics, strategy or the weapons required to properly capitalize on their stealth against the BETA.

After all, their stealth emitters can shield full sized bases from GDI surveillance satellites very well.

Y'all may have to wait for awhile for the next update. Yezar is kinda busy trying to score his Warframe Waifu atm.

I vaguely recall a mention, somewhere in CNC3 that GDI has stealth too, just not as good as Nod...But I no longer have CNC3 installed so I can't check it to be sure.

Well.. They haven't exactly fielded a unit using stealth technology by the time of CNC3 despite having data archives of Nod stealth tech. Hell. The only unit that actually has stealth is the sniper.

And even then, their stealth isn't tech based. It's just really good field craft.

Turn 10: BETA and Hive Assaults
Turning the conversation towards the BETAs, Yuuko drew up a series of charts with pictures of the various strains of BETA on them. Some of them like the Tank, Destroyer and Grappler class you encounter already, but the ones like Fort, Laser, its larger cousin and the warrior strain are totally unknown to you.

"That's because Laser classes requires G Element in their creation." Yuuko explained half way through the lecture on Laser classes role in BETA warfare. "As a result Laser classes rarely number more than a hundred. Magnus Lux are even rare and restricted to Hives as far as we can tell."

Well that's good. These Laser classes sounds like they're going to be a major threat, all but locking out your ability to wage a proper air campaign against them. However you suspect that you can drown them out with sheer volume of fire from your Juggernauts or at the very least keep them busy enough to cover limited air operations.

"Yes that's one way to get pass Laser interdiction I suppose. I'm not really involved with anti BETA operations however so I can't exactly go in-depth on our combat doctrin- yes Kasumi?"

To your surprise, the little bunny girl has quite literally appeared from nowhere and is now tugging on Yuuko's sleeves. She then tiptoed and whispered something to Yuuko's ears.

"I'm sorry Commander, but I'm afraid something urgent has come up." Seeing your expression, the doctor raise a hand "And no, it doesn't involve the aliens or the crystals. Just some of my pet projects waking up that's all."

You are tempted to inquire about this pet project but somehow you get the feeling that Yuuko isn't going to answer your question.

"I'll see you soon Commander." Yuuko called as you return to your APC. "Do keep yourself available for the next few days."

-/-

Next few days as it turns out was almost a week.

The EU forces surrounding your base has kept a distance away from its perimeters. You suspect that General Waldheim's orders were to keep you bottled up here while his superiors figures out what to do with you. Unlike before however there is a greater degree of freedom to it with the General essentially turning a blind eye to your movements. For your part, you play along with the General. You have however been launching aerial recon of the surroundings using a mixture of hammerheads and orcars and have identified two more Tiberium fields which you quickly move to take advantage of.

Meanwhile you ordered the construction of sonic fences and has began fencing up the Tiberium fields under your control. You toy with the idea of handling out the fences to the locals but soon comes to the conclusion that their infrastructure might not be able to support it.

At the same time you start compiling information on the various factions in play here. You probably need an expert in local politics to make sense of most of it still but never hurts to be at least familiar with this world's history.

Five days into your confinement, your sentries alerted you of a flight of TSFs escorting a transport helo requesting permission to enter your base. Your curiosity is further spiked by pilot's announcement of his passengers which includes members of the United States Military and the Central Intelligence Agency, as well as General Waldheim and Doctor Kouzuki.

Clearing them for landing, you make your way down to the landing pad. "Commander," the doctor greets when you arrived "it is a pleasure to see you again."

Exchanging the basic pleasantries, she reintroduces General Waldheim. Which isn't necessary considering that the two of you been exchanging recon data for the past few days. You notice that Kasumi, the little bunny girl isn't here today.

She then introduces the Americans. General Alexis Alexander, commander of the United States Marine Expedition Unit deployed in Europe and Ryan Richard, an Intel analysts from the CIA.

"Commander," the American general greets as she offers you a handshake "I would like to congratulate you on your victories against the aliens and on behalf of the American government thank you for your contributions towards our war effort."

Again pleasantries are exchanged before you lead the party to the Command Post where your engineers had refurbished a meeting room out of a spare storeroom. You wait for everyone present to take a seat before seating down.

"Time is of the essence here Commander so I shall go straight to the point." General Waldheim begins. On the opposite end of the table the CIA analysts pulls a small projector from his jacket and place it on the table before plugging a small thumb drive in it.

"In five hours time, Operation TRIDENT will enter its second phase." The general explains. On the projector a map of the continent flashes onto the wall. A large swath of France is covered by a red hue, surrounded by patches of blue signifying human troop concentration. Your experienced eyes rapidly absorbs the information, a classic encirclement you realized. In the middle, a single point glows bright red.

"Operation TRIDENT is a large scale offensive conducted with elements from the EU, the UN, the Empire of Japan and the United States Armed Forces. The objective is to liberate France from the BETA as we relocate key population centers away from British Isles. Phase one, is a large scale encirclement of France, halting BETA reinforcements and to begin preparations for phase two, the capture of Objective #012. Also known as the Lyons Hive."

"In five hours time, the American and UN forces would advance from their landing site along the English Channel while the EU and IJA forces move in from the Mediterranean. The remaining forces will hold their ground around Belgium and Germany preventing any reinforcements from the BETAs."

"And ... This is why we are here today Commander." Yuuko finishes. "On behalf of the European Union, we are requesting GDI aid for the operation."

[] Sure let's do this: Blowing up aliens in a hostile Tiberium infested environment? That's basically Tuesday for you.

[] I need more information before I can commit to any decision: You can't just waltz through half a country of aliens and Tiberium just because someone ask nicely.

I really don't see why we should't accept. With the Tiberium on site we can keep our economy aflot and keep helping them.

Also, WHERE THE FUCK COMES THE INFANTRY?

There's more to this than just your average blow aliens up. Consider whose asking for help, and what do they stand to gain from your actions.
