Here's a stupid idea: Why not introduce ourselves as Commander Takeru Shirogane as the GDI Commander?
I have yet seen a quest where Shirogane takes the role of something other than a TSF murderhobo. I could even imagine the dimensional shenanigans if the respective Takerus meet.

Anyway going with Yuuko should reveal just how much the locals know about Tiberium (which shouldn't be much; it took Nod outright handing out the tech for GDI to even start to research the thing in the first Tiberium war).
The existence of the Scrin and the revelation of what Tiberium is capable of is definitely gonna surprise her.

We don't need armor. We have to options, destroy the hive using unholy sonic pulse weaponry, or we bring up an engineer.
Personally, I think using the engineer would be more productive and faster. The hives are capturable buildings after all.
