Dionysus
[X] Tell her you'll do your best to keep that in mind.
[X] Consequently, you were going to go out and hunt people doing human sacrifices. So, since she seems to have knowledge of the supernatural. Does she have any idea what to look for

"I'll keep that in mind." You look over to Faith, she looks more relaxed than she was beforehand, but you grab her hand and give a squeeze anyway.
"More than one Warlock has gone mad channeling power, and not all of them are the same. Personal style in magic can offer a wide variety of effects." The woman's voice is lecturing again. "Some of the more exotic faith based magics are relatively benign until a prohibited action comes about, and then it rapidly degenerates."
The girl at your side chimes in at this point, still holding your hand, but casually leaning against the couch as if she wasn't. "Sounds like you've got experience there."
"Hmm, spent a bit of time with a few nuns in a monastary." Diana chuckles at the look she gets from both Faith and you. "I was a wild girl after I was recruited." She sighs almost wistfully. "Was much like you actually. A potential believe it or not."
"Get out." Faith perks up and leans forward. "Seriously?"
"Oh yes. More than half the females in the organization have been potentials. A few of the others have a parent as one." A small expression of distaste flickers across the woman's face, but is gone before you can make any of it. "Most of the upper echelons try to take care of the ones we find. Though it can vary quite a bit. I'm more of a maverick to be quite honest."
"Forgive me if I can't believe that." You look at the strict looking woman with something like incredulity.
"Oh yes." You her eyes roll as she talks. "There's a rather... Idiotic handbook that they pass out. I personally burned mine. It's only good if you're out in the middle of nowhere with nothing left. Hence the bookshelf I have." She points at a rather large one in back.
"The ones that make the yellow pages look small." Faith nods at the area.
"Most of them are copies that I can replace easily." Diana shrugs. "Encyclopedias and such of various events and demons that might become an issue. Unfortunately they aren't as detailed as the original article, but they are better than the handbook."
"That might be helpful. Been just relying on power and intuition mostly." You admit.
"Been kicking ass with it too." Faith squeezes your hand and gives you a grin.
"Should be good training for Faith to discover things then. I assume you have some sort of sense?" The woman leans forward and looks at you with fascination. "It's always special to see a powerful practitioner, and I believe you're one based on how that horse looked."
"Sense, and visions I suppose you could say? Sort of like someone telling me what to do when I need it." You admit with a shrug. "Not very detailed. For instance, I know that there is a human sacrifice going to happen within two weeks, and it would be done in the rich part of town."
"Another hunt? Kick ass." Faith pumps her free hand and then gets to her feet. "In the rich club I'm guessing? I've heard they do some freaky things. I can get there right now!"
"I'd suggest you make a plan first." Diana's voice is very amused, and you see her grinning. "And sit down please. You need to research first."
"Really?" The girl hits the couch with a huff. "Sure kill my buzz."
"Better than you getting killed instead." The woman chuckles and gets to her feet. "This one is fairly easy to pinpoint though, so I can get going, and then we can possibly plan." She walks over to the bookshelf and picks out two books. One a massive thing that makes her stagger, and then a smaller one.
You have to hide your smile when you see the wide eyed look of near terror on Faith's face as the books are brought over. "That's easy?!"
"Oof!" Diana slams the massive thing on the ground and chuckles. "The large one is a book of significant dates." She holds up the smaller one. "I want you to look through it. What I have is a book of rituals for the significant date."
"Serious killjoy." Faith mutters, but opens up the big book anyway. A long moment passes as she flips through. "Ok, what the hell is in here? I don't recognize the dates at all. It's all names, and so many days after such and such."
The woman nods at Faith. "The calendar conversion is in the back. It should have a few benchmark dates. It's not based on years, but there's an almanac under the table that has the proper dates and times."
"Seriously making me do this." The muttering gets a bit worse, and you scoot back as Faith nearly slams the book on the table. "All right. December is this time. A benchmark time is the Winter Solstice. So I turn back towards this and see what's around this time." More grumbling from Faith as she flips through the book to a time, and then pauses. She flips back, and forth a few times. "Seriously?"
Diana chuckles as she hands over the book and Faith gives her a very flat look. "Yes, two weeks from now is the Winter Solstice. Rituals involving human sacrifice would be on pages fifty to one hundred."
The girl gives a very long and suffering sigh, but the book and flips there. "What am I looking for?"
"There are only a few that would fit." Diana admits and gives a shrug. "Most are typical empowerment rituals. I think we can rule out that."
"Carve out the victims heart and eat it as the sun sets." Faith reads off a particular section. "I can't imagine a rich kid doing that."
"You'd be surprised." Something dark flickers across Diana's face, but she shakes her head. "I don't think it would be that one either. A bit too messy. There might be a few problem areas, but murders like that would be a bit too visible."
"Huh, here's one. Burn the person at midnight?" Faith frowns. "No, where would you do it?"
"Not much space here to do that." You mutter quietly.
"Ok, this one's weird. The Ritual of Excess, death by drink and song." The girl blinks a few times. "Huh? How the hell is that a ritual?"
"Ritual of Excess. Ah yes, that is a strange one... And possible." Diana frowns in thought. "It's an old Greek one for Dionysus. You gather twelve women, grant them drink and song, and have one hapless victim marked. By the end of the night he's either dead from drink or torn apart by the women as he tries to escape. In exchange, the place is blessed by the god."
"That's fucked up." Faith mutters. "Well, it will probably give me an in at least."
"I wouldn't suggest it unless you want to become accessory to murder. Once the ritual starts the women lose control of themselves." Is the gentle reply. "Stopping it might be better."
