Magical Dreams (Warframe/Negima)

Y'know, I'm not sure that age would matter to a Tenno, loot is loot afterall, so I propose what is likely to be a more accurate vote:
[jk] Aren't you a little too poor to be hiring mercenaries?

:thonk:

I think I will try this one. It amused me.:)

[X] "Do you require a target eliminated or do you need intelligence retrieved from the organization that would seek to stop your mission?"

[X] Hmm?

Funny as some of the write-ins are, this is explicitly a flavor-only vote and doesn't actually have a write-in option. It's bad manners to make a write-in when the QM hasn't given the option. Even more so to try and add functionality to a vote that the author doesn't intend it to have.

As to whether or not we should do it... why not? Seriously, is there any reason not to take the offer, when it almost definitely will give us the bow that we so desperately need? It's not like it will force us to always be on Negi's side or anything. Ivara being who and what she is, saying no would be completely out of character once she has established that there are no real downsides. So much so that I won't really care much if the QM doesn't even give us the option to vote "no" on it.

Quite frankly, it's equally bad manners on the QM's part to have a vote with no meaning whatsoever. Hence why I'm voting for a write in instead of [generic interrogative noise].

I do agree with your second paragraph though. No reason to say no, really.

To me this is largely a question of negotiation tactics. Sure, it's to our benefit to do it so we will, but what exactly will get out of it? Negi has a lot to offer, things like:
  • Authorization as a member of the Mahora administration to take actions currently barred to Ivara, preferably at her own discretion
  • His backing as a researcher/individual with some limited influence in figuring out how to get home
  • Funding for things Ivara wants (a magical teacher's salary is unknown, but certainly more than part-time package running)
  • Willingness to keep quiet about things (she is under significant emotional stress and a good chunk of it comes from lying constantly, so a confidant would be highly valuable)
Since the description of the contract being offered that Ivara has is one where both parties have expectations of their duties and roles, it's not reasonable to expect her to treat it as nothing more than a free power-up; she'll take it seriously. Because she takes it seriously, it'll be important for Negi to also take it equally seriously, and part of that is ensuring that Ivara gets more out of the role than a fancy new bow.

[X] I'll have to read the paperwork first.

We are a professional Tenno with professional standards.

[X] What?

So conflicted. On one hand MAGIC and possibly an artifact bow to boot, on the other, I want Ivara's first to be with Ryuujou-sempai.

Actually, bringing her in might be smart, as we know she knows about magic. We can totally try it with her to make sure it works correctly, right?

Well, you know if Pactio is based partly on the power of the mage that is your partner, Konoka would probably provide as much charge as Negi at this point, if not more. Setsuna would flip out at that request.

Evangeline would probably be even better, unless the seal interfered, but that's not happening.

I'm just spitballing alternatives here, not advocating anything. I seem to remember Ryuujou could throw fireballs at least.

Much as I wished otherwise, I find it extremely unlikely Evangeline will be able (and willing) to make Pactio with Ivara. If only because, by all appearance, she doesn't need it.

(Short of we're pledging allegiance to her, which is even more unlikely).

Konoka is... hm. High risk, high reward? Hey, it might compels Setsuna to move faster! Or make her more dispirited. Oh well.

Would prefer to see if we can form one with Asuna, as for Evangeline I wish we could bury her on the battlefield instead of this force peace.
I'm not sure what's her power level but Ivara bound to get some interesting skills, same goes for Asuna perhaps an void base weapon?
Also an accidently pact kiss with the baka would be hilarious for reaction alone.

Getting used to a bow that will poof into nonexistence when Negi finally chooses someone almost-certainly-not-Ivara doesn't sound that great to me. It sounds like torture.

Isn't it better to get serious about finding a real, permanent bow?
