Did she even listen to anything you said? The answer must be no since no sane person would just run off like that.... On the other hand she was just possessed by the mad god, maybe you shouldn't be expected the most stellar decision making from Freyja right now. Either way you aren't letting her go alone!
"Follow that Freyja!" You declare and charge after her through the doors.
"Nine divines save us." Morlia murmurs behind you. You imagine her hand is firmly pressed over her face.
"To adventure!" Diana crows happily and piles out after you. Morlia mutters something less than polite and follows along with a sense of profound reluctance. You think you hear something like 'someone around here has to stay sane'.
In a straggling line the three of you exit the inn through a door that's still swinging on its hinges after Freyja dashing through. You see her in seconds, sprinting up the street in the general direction of the mages' guild. You dash after her fast as your legs will carry you.
"Freyja! Freyja wait! FreyjaFreyjaFreyja!"
Eventually the combination of crashing crystal and shouting brings her to a reluctant halt. "What do you want?!" She growls, face all angles and anger.
"You can't just run off like that." You insist. Diana catches up with you, panting for breath and stopping with her hands on her knees. Morlia is rather further behind. "Don't you get it? This isn't jumped up bandits, or half arsed cults or... or spiders! This is multiple Deadric Princes trying to kill me. It's ever so slightly over your pay grade!" You keep your voice low, a strained hiss, so no one can overhear you who isn't Freyja or Diana.
"I am a Skingrad guard, everything that goes on in this city is within my pay grade." Freyja insists. "I don't care if it's Princes or spiders. This is my duty and nothing will stop me fulfilling it!" She glares into your eye slits. She's... tall, standing equal with you. Somehow you hadn't noticed that before.
"The last time someone went up against a Prince boom!" You slash your hand through the air between you and Freyja. "Wiped from existence. The only person who stands a chance doing this is a Hero, capital H and all."
"I don't care!" Morlia chooses now to stumble into the scene, puffing worse than Diana.
"Then... then at least let me help." You don't see yourself getting further than this without a better argument or three. "You're running into danger like this, on the word of the Prince of Madness. It's not really something you can tell your guard friends to get them to back you up. Right?" You offer your hand hopefully.
"Please, no one wants you to get hurt." Diana says and employs her patented big brown eyed charm. Freyja doesn't exactly melt in the face of that weaponised adorableness but she's quite suddenly much less angry than she was before.
"Alright, fine. But you two," she points at Morlia and Diana, "stay behind me and the ambulatory armour, agreed?"
"Agreed." Morlia says emphatically. Freyja nods tersely once and sets off, at a slower pace than before. You follow eagerly with the two mages.
Yes! You're probably, technically a vigilante at this point. A concerned citizen taking the law into their own hands! Like Batman! Batcrystal?
Or wait.... Since you were the one giving Freyja a tip does that make you commissioner Gordon to Freyja's Batman? Commissioner Crystal? Or maybe....
PLINK
Something hits the side of your helmet. A stone or something you think. You glance around, who could possibl-PLINK
Another stone, exactly where your right ear would be. You turn sharply right and the next stone plinks squarely between your eye slits.
You catch sight of Lucas in a side alley between two larger shops, stone in hand. He notices you looking and beckons urgently.
[ ] What do?
Ah back to short and sweet, thank heavens. Long updates are great but only in moderation I think, if only to preserve the amount of fun I have writing this.
