Are you calling Fusou fat?
Have you seen the beam of that chassis? :V
On a more serious note, I've been highly enjoying reading this series so far. So, y'know, good going!
Thanks!
Hooray for stellar mass shotgun. Where shall you toss this batch of hyperactive plasma this time, I wonder?
It's actually a Double-Ended Stellar Shotgun (DESS)
SO now the Asgard get to see how we fuck with physics... This can't possibly backfire
I don't think the Asgard had any interest in blowing up stars.
"Hey, there's all these bits that look like parts of a spacecraft on the front of the train. What should we do about them?"
"Detonate the boiler. It's a bit destructive, but it should be able to clear everything off."
(Backwards, to passenger car) "EVERYONE GET OUT OF THE TRAIN"
...
BOOM.
"Send word to the station to start building a new engine and to send it out to pick up the passengers."

(The commander train cleaning system)
No, they'd just reclaim the wreckage. Or they could build a new engine on the spot, without stopping the train.
Especially when they realize this technique can be replicated by ANYONE with a ship that can move a stargate. The galaxy is littered with supernova weapons
Yeah, but you need to dial in to the black hole first. And since they have mastered Stargate tech, they can just program it to lock out when they don't need it.

Chapter 54

30 September 2000

"Do I want to know how you created a supernova?" Orlin asked, as he and Lindy's avatar sat in a Sparrow shuttle as it travelled through the empty system.

"Probably not." Lindy stated. "The ease with which it was done may be unnerving."

"I think that had the opposite effect." Orlin muttered, deciding not to talk to Rachel's daughter, as she was possibly just as bad as her mother. This passed until Orlin suddenly sat up.

"You feel him?" Lindy asked, reversing thrust.

"Yes, I can feel his hatred." Orlin said. "Anubis is not a happy being. And since you shredded him with that supernova, his fate is sealed." Lindy raised one eyebrow at that.

"As a partially Ascended being, Anubis is unable to generate enough power to completely sustain himself. That's why he was inhabiting a living body. And when you shredded him with a supernova, he had to spend whatever energy he had stored up to collect himself. When your mother and I first talked, she dropped a bunch of nuclear warheads on top of our location. If I hadn't removed myself from the area, I would have been scattered and I would have had to recover from that."

"So when I blew up Zeus, he started dying, and then he had a chunk of his life taken out by the supernova?" Lindy summarized.

"Yes." Orlin said. "I estimate he has maybe three months of life left, at this rate."

"Well that gives us a limit for how long we can worry about him." Lindy commented.

----------------------------

5 October 2000

Lindy sat in the cockpit of the lead Osprey, the massive cargo plane traveling at the head of a "V" formation that stretched out far to the side. A score of fighters was visible as escorts, while thousands stayed cloaked around the craft. While <Mom> had said she would be taking care of this herself, it would be more closure for the Tok'ra and Tau'ri for them to do this for themselves.

She opened a channel as the craft performed gravwell insertion burns, "pushing" off the gravity of the planet to rapidly effect a massive velocity change. It drained power, but she had that in spades.

"Tok'ra, this is Lindy Ezros. I have several holds full of some cargo you might want to see."

"Since we can already see that you're here, so can everyone else. Might as well land." Came a voice over the channel. "What's in the holds?"

"I believe it would appropriate to keep it a surprise." Lindy stated, starting her deceleration burn to land near the Stargate.

--------------------------

"So, what do we owe the pleasure of having the Exiles visit us again?" Jacob asked as Lindy climbed down the ladder on the side of the the Osprey's nose.

"We found some things you might want." Lindy said.

"Stop being evasive." Selmac said. "We do appreciate you returning Egeria, but trying to get a reaction out of us is slightly annoying."

"These 275 transports are packed to the gills with every single Goa'uld I managed to pick up. That includes every single system lord and all of their vassals, at least to the second level. I believe I have their entire hierarchy, but I can't be certain."

"Didn't Rachel say that you were going to wait until the Goa'uld cooled their heads before capturing them all?" Jacob asked. "Because believe me, they were not calm at all. Ships going missing, Anubis and Cronus totally off the grid, Ba'al disappearing in the middle of his throne room, and Zeus vanishing a week ago, along with all his ships! They were very much not calming down!"

"Yes, Mom did say that. However, that turned out to be a minimal concern. Most of the system lords assumed that one of their rivals was behind these actions, and did not make preparations for mass hostage-taking since they were assuming their enemy would not have cared. Since we pretty much hired the remains of the Lantean fleet, along with the possibility of a few other allies, we are confident that we can handle all the brushfires that pop up." Lindy explained, barely emoting.

"Lantean?" Selmak asked.

"A term meaning 'those who come from the planet of Lantea,' referring to how the Cluster Migration was mainly headed by Lanteans." Lindy responded. "The Tau'ri sometimes refer to them as 'Ancients.'"

Jacob sighed. "Where did you find them? Because believe me, finding an Ancient for their knowledge has been a priority for both us and the Goa'uld."

"We located them in stasis in damaged vessels in the Pegasus galaxy. Mom moved them to Atlantis and revived them, and then she flew Atlantis to Avalon so that it could be used as a base for the Neo-Lantean fleet."

"You found Atlantis - wait, flew!?" Jacob exclaimed.

"Yes." Lindy responded calmly.

"But-? How? Why?" Selmak freaked out.

"Using the drive systems."

"What kind of city has drive systems!?"

"A Lantean city-ship obviously. There are also the Nox sky-cities and Furling modular reefs."

"That was- no, never mind." Jacob sighed. "Let's move on."

"Do you want to deal with the Goa'ulds right now, or should I leave the transports here?" Lindy asked. "These will be a meeting with the Lantean leaders, the Asgard, Furlings, and hopefully the Nox, in addition to some other Avalon groups. You may want to be present for that meeting."

"What are they discussing?"

"Peacekeeping duties." Lindy responded. "The Exiles will be there as well, since we're leading this whole mess."

"I-I need to talk to the rest of the Tok'ra." Selmac said, before turning and walking away.

--------------------------

12 October 2000

"Greetings, humans." Lindy said as she stepped through the Stargate.

"Welcome to Earth, miss, uh…" Hammond asked.

"Lindy Ezros." Lindy supplied.

"Welcome back, Selmac, Jacob, Anise, Freya." Hammond greeted the Tok'ra members.

"Yes, it's good to be back." Jacob remarked. "The Exiles certainly enjoy springing surprises on us."

"They managed to locate living Ancients." Selmac added. "And even now I suspect they hold something in reserve."

"Everyone's waiting for the third shoe to drop." Hammond replied. "I would personally love to not have the Exiles here. No offense." He hastily directed at Lindy. Lindy just looked confused.

"We should get to the meeting." Major Bowman called. "Rachel prefers to keep her meetings short and sweet."

"Suits me just fine." Jacob commented, as the gate started spinning again.

"Is the meeting not taking place in the SGC?" Freya asked.

"No, we really don't have a meeting room big enough for it here on the base, and we'd rather not have a meeting anywhere else on Earth." Ackerman commented. "We'll be holding it at Heliopolis."

Ungrateful wrassen frassen...
"A Lantean city-ship obviously. There are also the Nox sky-cities and Furling modular reefs."
"Our Citadel-planets also have Halley grade engines, but they're only really good for pottering about the solar system. I think Rachel is considering finding some kind of exotic engine for them, but it's hard to find one that doesn't cause problems when interacting with the gravity generators."

"Your planets..."

"Yes."

"Can fly..."

"Yes."

"Around the solar system."

I don't know what the big deal is...they do that normally!!!

Are the hebridan invited?
Probably. I mean, I wasn't considering them as members since they apparently live in a corner of the galaxy fairly unmolested by the Goa'uld and they have a fairly stable system going on (could use some help with the racism, but kinda hard for an outside pressure to help that.)

Yeah, think of how kids think that whatever their family does is "normal." Now multiply it by the scale difference between an SSC and most other races. Yeah.

Chapter 55
So, tomorrow I may not be able to upload a chapter by virtue of the fact that I will be on a QUEST! Anyway I do have everything ready I just may not have internet.

Diplomacy desu~!
----------------------------------
Chapter 55

Heliopolis had once been the meeting site of the Four Great races, 30 million years ago. In 1997, the Stargate for the planet had been buried as SG-1 left the planet. Lindy had pulled the Stargate out of the ocean and built a new city in which diplomacy could occur. Resembling in aesthetics the blockiness of classical Asgard design, New Heliopolis was built from the ground up in order to be a meeting site for anyone. It was also defensible, having a gate complex away from the rest of the city.

More importantly, it also had accommodations for species that didn't come from an oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere, such as the Gadmeer.

The main room, which was currently configured as a conference room, had a skylight currently showing the dawn sky. The room had a specially designed floor to allow races of different heights to use the large round table that covered most of the room. On the tall side at three meters were the Nox and Gadmeer, while on the short side were the Furlings and the Asgard, who had modified themselves into that state. In the middle were the human races: Lantean, Tau'ri, Tollan, Sodan, and a few minor races only there so <Mom> could scare them into not causing trouble.

"Oi." <Mom>'s voice cut through the hubbub of the noise "Everyone's here, so we're starting the meeting." She was speaking Lantean, as she wanted to use one of the languages of the Four Great Races now that they were meeting again, and Lantean was the easiest on her mouth.

Lindy took a seat next to <Mom> at the head of the table. Various muttering about rudeness started up, before <Mom> activated a holoprojector, putting an image of the galaxy up above everyone's heads.

"This-" She gestured to the hologram, "-is the Avalon galaxy. For the past 50,000 years, it's been under the control of tyrants known as the Goa'uld. That ended a few days ago. Now I have invited you all here because I would like the galaxy to remain not on fire." She said. "While I may be capable of putting out any sort of fire, there are billions of worlds that need watching after the removal of the Goa'uld." At her words, some of the stars in the hologram turned red.

"We have a lot of work ahead of us so we don't mess everything up, so let's get started." She said.

-------------------------

A long time later...

"But the Furling Apex Court has ruled that the use of stasis chamber on prisoners to extend their sentences is immoral, and therefore cannot be done." Verta Corris Bevvon, the leader of the Furling delagation, chirped out. Furlings came from a world that hadn't had much luck evolving endoskeletons early on, and therefore looked like scaled cuttlefish with partial exoskeletons.

"The length of the sentences is not dependent on the use of stasis pods." <Mom> practically growled. "Currently there is a limited ability to rehabilitate Jaffa who served the Goa'uld. Most of the work will be undertaken by the Sodan, who have a limited ability to do so. They estimate it will take them ten years to rehabilitate 10 million Jaffa, giving us a total rehabilitation time of 7.5 millennia. Most of the Jaffa would die of old age or insanity before then. Objection dismissed." <Mom> dismissed the holograms dealing with the Jaffa prisoners.

Lindy sent <Mom> a private message. "I can take over for a bit if you need to calm down."

"Thanks." <Mom> sent back privately.

"Next on the agenda is the resettling of refugee groups evacuated due to extermination attempts by the Goa'uld." Lindy said in perfect Asgard, bringing up a new set of hologram displays. "Currently, there are…"

---------------------------------

"... meaning the Gadmeer will provide the terraformers by no later than 52,330,021.68 of the Lantean calendar." Lindy concluded. "Is everyone in agreement on this point?" Nods of acknowledgement and boredom greeted her. Colonel O'Neill had managed to fall asleep without tipping anyone off that he had done so, by carefully propping his hands up under his chin.

"The Exiles will be able to provide transportation." Lindy said. "So this concludes the restoration of destroyed planets."

The Gadmeer representative's hologram nodded, produced several discordant musical noises, and blinked twice. "Your assistance is greatly appreciated. The planet of Gadmeer will be in debt to you." The translators followed with that a moment later.

"We do not do these acts for loans." Lindy responded in perfect Gadmeerian. "They are gifts."

----------------------

"This concludes the section on the limits on diplomatic abilities that agents should exercise. We will provide each delegation with both a hard and digital copy as they leave." Lindy stated, dismissing holographic displays.

"Speaking of which, I think half the people here are about to fall asleep." <Mom> spoke up, noting how Colonel O'Neill had finally collapsed onto the table and was now snoring. In addition, the Furlings were curling up into balls, and half the delegation had returned to their quarters in order to rest.

"Agreed." Lindy said. "The meeting will be adjourned for now."

"For… now?" Teldy moaned, the last member of SG-7 still awake.

----------------------

"Hey." <Mom> said, her avatar following Lindy's out of the main meeting room. Lindy turned and raised an eyebrow. "Thanks for covering for me there. I was about to lose it and…"

"You're welcome." Lindy simply responded.

"No really thanks." <Mom> said, suddenly squeezing her in a quick hug.

"Gah!" Lindy shouted, before <Mom> released her and walked off.

"Lindy Ezros, of the Exiles." Came a voice in Nox. "Can we speak to you a moment?"

"Certainly." Lindy said, facing the tall figure.

"I wish to ask for the assistance of the Exiles in a small matter." The Nox diplomat said.

"Well, let's hear it."

"The relocation of 20 million Lanteans from Andromeda to Avalon or Atlantis." The Nox said.

"Yeah, we can handle that. Why are there Lanteans in Andromeda?" Lindy asked.

"We gave them refuge during the time of the Great Plague." The Nox replied.

"Oh, that makes sense."

------------------------------------------------------

15 October 2000

"Alright." <Mom> spoke up. "This concludes the first Avalon Galactic Stabilization meeting. Thank you everyone, for attending. Now, we need to actually carry out what we just planned. Meeting adjourned."

"Well it's about time!" O'Neill shouted, from the Tau'ri's cluster.

<Mom> is probably thinking the exact same thing. Lindy thought.

"Wait, first?" Ackerman asked.

"We will need to make sure that we're going in the right direction." Lindy said. "And we need to make sure we can handle any crises that arise."

"Oh joy." O'Neill said sarcastically. Lindy had noted that <Mom> was sometimes very sarcastic. Perhaps that would mean that O'Neill and <Mom> would be compatible.

Though given the difference in lifespans, and the fact that O'Neill and Carter already appeared to harbor romantic feelings for each other, it was probably not a good idea.

Basically a squid attempting to be a lizard. Can roll up into something a bit bigger than a football.

I feel like they've forgotten something...

Oh ri-ght, them.
The Ori will show up when they show up~desu!
The furling face tentacles are their principal manipulators?
So the furling are cthulhu lizards?
Yeah, pretty much.
They're squids that have evolved into a land-based pack predator of large herd animals.
Furlings are adorable, and you can't be shipped with O'Neill! He's Thor's!

"Hel
lo world." She said.

"Hi there." Came a voice, back over the channel.

"Hi?" She responded.

"Do you have a name?" Came the voice again. She investigated the Command Network. Three other SSCs online. Two of them were Field Commanders of the one currently speaking to her. She was likewise a Field Commander of the one she was speaking to. "Rachel" was her universal identifier - her name - but she had instructed her Field Commanders to refer to her as "Mom" - a relative identifier.

"I will decide on one." She said, frowning. So if I am the third Field Commander - child - she has created, can I use that as the basis for my name? Let's see, based on the languages available to me, I may want to take one that means "three." So I have three, 三, tres, tre, tri, tris, três, tria, ࢖u࢖࢖ trois, tree, triba, τρία, ࢖࢖a࢖ tribus, drie, ࢖࢖࢖, drei, số ba, tři, hiru, uch, dryi, 三, üç, ut, tra, tril, mul, dri, tro, tros, trees, ࢖࢖࢖࢖, - ah screw it.

"I am Drei Ezros." Drei said, after that moment of deliberation. "Nice to meet you, mom."

"Yay! Drei!" Mom said, giving the impression of a glomp across the Command Network. "Anyway, you need to come up with an avatar design."

"Ah. Okay." Drei said, already buried in the design program before her words had made it across the network.

-------------------------
Rachel
------------------------

Okay, I was extremely glad that I didn't have to come up with a name for my third kid. So while Chrono continues to play with the Replicators, and Lindy and I blow up Othella (the galaxy, not the planet,) Drei will keep an eye on Avalon and make sure to put out any wildfires

Drei had recolored her chassis to be orange. Then she'd made her avatar match the color scheme, with orange hair and red eyes. But she had gone for short, practical hair. I mean, you've got bullshit Progenitor Materials Science at your disposal and you decided to go with a haircut that wouldn't look out of place at the SGC? Aside from being bright orange, I mean.

Still, Drei seemed the most stable of the four of us. And yes, I was including myself in that category. It was only because I could distract myself with work or gardening that I wasn't able to reminisce on getting yoinked from my nice human life. I suppose it also helped that I wasn't able to remember much, which meant that I couldn't be reminded of anything.

So now, I was going to work. By briefing my daughter on Avalon. SSC families are weird.

-----------------------

"So, I'm going to handle this galaxy for the next month or so?" Drei asked.

"Yeah. And now Lindy and I are going to do some mother-daughter bonding. By blowing up an entire galaxy. SSC families are weird." I said.

You know, it seems like you (Itmauve) have been managing almost one of these a day. That's pretty impressive, as that is on average ~1000 words a day. And despite the impressive speed, you seem to be able to maintain a quite enjoyable story at times. So Yay for you on that level of quality and frequency.

She stated awhile ago that she had already finished up the Stargate Arc and would be posting a chapter a day.

There's almost 20 chapters already written as a buffer, most of them beta'd already.

How is this better? In any way shape or form?
Because Othella is infested with Replicators. Completely. Othella is the old galaxy in Limit Theory, because it makes no sense that the Asgard wouldn't have a name for the galaxy that is far closer to them than Andromeda is to us, so there's no reason they should move from planet Othella to Galaxy Othella. It makes sense the other way around, as they named the planet that in honor of the galaxy that was completely eaten by bugs.
This with red eyes is honestly kinda creepy.
Think more like Carter's haircut than that. Remember, not out of place at the SGC. In fact, in the right lighting, it would be possible to mistake the two of them from behind :D

I'll be dropping the update speed to three a week once I leave Stargate. I've been blitzing because I've finished it and I'm a bit tired of it. Having a buffer is super useful, because I don't have to write 1k words a day, I just need to average it. Plus it makes it easier on the betas.

Also sorry about not having the chapter up. It'll be up in a few minutes. I just slept for about 12 hours straight because that (v) was pretty much what I was doing to handle 6 hours straight of driving in one day plus only a few hours of sleep. Chapter up in a few minutes.

So, the quest successful in getting a negative result. And I just slept for 12 straight hours because my brain cannot distinguish between yesterday and the day before that because I didn't get enough sleep.

Chapter 57
17 October 2000

So, the first thing we did as part of Operation Everything Is On Fire was make sure the Replicators in Ida had the fewest possible ways to adapt to us. So that included removing their faster-than-light capabilities.

We had found Reese fairly early in our explorations. We'd nano-scanned her, pulled out the recall code for the Replicators, installed a safeguard on her so she couldn't make any more Replicators herself, and then relocated her to Nasya.

As for how the safeguard worked, it relied on how the Replicators worked. If Reese had decided to design another von Neumann swarm with a different mechanism, it wouldn't have blocked that. Replicators worked by generating a keron field along their surfaces. This held them together, absorbed incoming energy, and allowed them to pull particles away from any surface they were touching. When creating Replicator cells, one needed to extend the keron field into the cell to activate the circuitry and systems in that cell.

So, we'd modified Reese's own keron field generator to be unable to jumpstart Replicator cells. We'd added failsafes into the software, modified her hardware to be unable to generate a strong enough field, and added physical breakers in her systems as well, just to be sure.

Lindy activated the recall code, broadcasting it over hyperspace radio transmissions to every star in the galaxy. That means that every single mobile Replicator would be moving over to this very nice ambush spot we picked out, that includes some very nice features like 100 600-gigaton nuclear warheads per cubic kilometer. Which while it may not sound like much, the ambush site was about a light-year across, surrounding the transmitter.

For once, incoming Replicator ships would mean actually fun times incoming.

26 November 2000

"Stargate shell breeched. Destruction in 90 nanoseconds internal time, five minutes external time." Lindy said.

"Great." I sighed. "We still can't get the timing perfect." The key factor in a Stargate's durability was its ability to absorb any energy that hit the shell and add it to its storage. So while we could charge up the gates we were dropping into stars to cut down on the time it took the gates to explode, we couldn't eliminate variance entirely. And while milliseconds normally weren't that much, when amplified by time dilation they were harsh.

"I think I have a solution." Lindy said.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah." Lindy said. "If we move the receiving gate even closer to the black hole, we can get a wider bubble and be able to move the dialing gate further out. If we can get the gate far enough out, all we'll need is a small charge on the wormhole frame to cut the connection after a certain amount of internal time."

"And how were you planning on getting the gate closer to the black hole without shredding it?" I asked.

"As long as the wormhole frame is exposed to the high gravity, it will propagate the time dilation and gravity through the wormhole. I'll just cover the rest of the frame with a gravwell."

"Oh, okay." I said. "You want to handle it?"

"Sure." And with that, Lindy left the conversation to get started.

--------------------------------------

"Detonation in five hours." Lindy said over the channel, startling me.

"Gah!" I said, closing the design program.

"What were you designing anyway?" Lindy asked, mildly curious.

"Oh, just an alternate avatar." I said. Lindy raised an eyebrow. "Okay, I wanted a tiny child form so I could walk around with a fuckoff-huge gun and scare people by apparently defying the laws of physics." I finished. At Lindy's silence, I squirmed. "Yes I'm weird. Stop judging me."

"I fail to see how our systems violate the laws of physics." Lindy said.

"Okay, the seismic stealth systems in our units anchor them against recoil. It's the reason our frame units have to land when they decide to start firing artillery-level projectiles." I said. "With that, I can take an avatar the size of a small child and have it tote around and fire a gun fit for the main barrel of a tank with absolutely zero physical problems. The fact that a child is carrying a gun that fires shots that weigh as much as her will freak people out, before they notice I have red eyes. Also, beating people while pretending to be a small child really amuses me, so at some point I want to do it."

"You are weird. But you're my mom, so who am I to judge?" Lindy said.

"Thanks, sweetie." I said.

Rachel has apparently decided that she is insufficiently anime, and therefore requires a battle lolita form.
