Chrono wound up in friggin' Stellaris of all places, which seems to have alot of non-alliance builders in its 'faction' list.
That Smile...it all began with that Smile.
Yeah, it take two to have a functioning relationship, and only one to have a hostile one. That's not an ironclad guideline but definitely applies here.Chrono wound up in friggin' Stellaris of all places, which seems to have alot of non-alliance builders in its 'faction' list.
Plenty. And at this point it's a self-reinforcing state. Any xenophile empire quickly runs into a xenophobic empire, and things go downhill from there.
You know, three or four years ago, when I was planning this out, I wasn't even aware of Gigastructures. And when I did encounter it, it was during a stage when I wasn't thinking about Limit Theory too much.Oh fun, stellaris : o
Does this universe happen to have any mods featuring big structures? The lore for it even fits (with two exceptions that can frankly be ignored)!
I've been thinking about how a teched up PA commander would handle the blokkats (not including giving them ex nihilo tech to just invalidate THE reason why they are the way they are)
No, because she doesn't have the technology to do that, and because did you forget about the fact that these people are living in police states?could have asked them before yoinking and then just wiped their memories, if they declined.
There's a big difference between "no alarm if there's no one to sound the alarm" and "no crime if you murder literally everyone."Also Mass Scattering the Galaxy is also a solution, a very elegant one methinks. See no evil, do no evil!
The Prikki department of state motto: "I have decided to cause problems on purpose."The fucking Prikki of course.
Bunch of dinosaur wannabe pricks, they always appear at the exact moment needed to make a situation the worst it can possibly be
I was patiantly waiting for when she realised she was being real silly and has had Stargate blueprints for a while and thus has instant subspace communication to fix her lag issue but she somehow instead comes to the conclusion its an intelligent descision to create a new commander before she gets proper social interactions with people so she doesnt create a socially handicapped child due to her current state instead. And I sure as hell wasn't letting my kid have one, ever.
Power trickled into the core, rushing down interconnects and soaking into each segment. And with a sudden snap, the core activated, I withdrew from the diagnostics.
"Hello?" Came the message from my child.
Maybe she should actually get to Analyzing the Stargate and stop being dumb? literally quite a few of her issues would be fixed if she did it and her excuse for not doing it is poor since the Goa'uld are not an actual threat to her.Except I could network teleporters together, and just travel through multiple of them. Heck, I didn't need to have waited for an hour to get to Nasya when I attacked it. Ugh, I had forgotten about teleporters because of my fancy new hyperdrives. I'm not very good at Commandering.
20 light-year range without a receiving gate, 50 light-year range with a receiving gate. Of course, I also needed energy to open and maintain the connection. That would prevent me from just building a teleporter, traveling in the right direction, building another one, traveling again, and repeating the process 75 times. Given my Metal Plant's power, the energy needed to let me pass through, and the costs of my infrastructure, it would take about 6 hours to make the jump. While I was all undefended, to boot.
So, I wasn't going to be doing that. In fact, given how well our colonization of every star was going, I could wait a couple more days and just use teleporter relays. I suppose I could find something to do for the next couple of days.
Maybe just analyze a Stargate for its subspace communiction tech or one of those Goa'uld orbs and remove the lag issue entirely?"I do not believe so." Lindy responded. "The sheer size of the galaxy, combined with our minimum response times, make for a difficult situation to defend from. This is in addition to the large number of possible threat vectors. Normally this would require billions of Commanders, but with our enhanced travel speed and pre-established infrastructure it might be possible with only a few additional Commanders."
"Look, I'm not sure adding a dozen new kids to the situation right before I go galavanting off would be a good idea. A second Commander watching the galaxy would be the best I think we could do on short notice." I roll my eyes. "Simply in regards to training and preparedness. And me being a good parent."
That was Prethoryn Swarm, one of endgame Crisis that could happen in Stellaris game. They basically refugees from other galaxy, that act like Tyranids or Halo's Flood out of survival necessity.
The Prethoryn Swarm is a canonical endgame crisis in Stellaris. They're running from something in canon that is never explained - I believe there's an event later where your scientists tell you "we took a real-time look at their galaxy and it's gone. Just missing." Me being me and having a metaplot, well, you can clearly see what's going on.
I thought Chrono just realized the Swarm was running from her Fabricator ships that she forgot to turn off and had on auto build. That would have been hillarious. The Prethoryn Swarm is a canonical endgame crisis in Stellaris. I like it!The spindly design reminds me of the Galactic Alliance of Humankind ships from Suisei no Gargantia, very nice. I do like the cells for sleepy Hammerheads. So anyway, have some pictures of the Mako. Put under a spoiler because some of them are big.
This is the "big field" mode here.
A close view of the discs and core
Sleepy mode, all claws and effector vanes tucked in, discs and rungs closed up, and all psycoframe turned off
Can launch 240 hammerheads at once. Fun fact here: the Hammerhead in the second picture is actually clipping through the door.
A close-up of the "rungs" in the larger claws. These can rotate and close one side or the other.
