I cannot help but feel that you are secretly smug this pre-planned upgrade now also serves to prove wrong the "magic modifier is unreliable" people.

No significant offense to any party intended.
You are absolutely right on that account. To be more exact, I have been laughing to myself behind the scenes for quite a while now.

No offense intended on my part, either. It is just how it is, I knew what was waiting ahead in terms of Upgrades.

It was never about a hard rule of "magic modifier is unreliable", and more about "weapon MM isn't very relevant when most of your damage comes from your spell and you don't have any abilities like Spell Boost".

And that previously our weapon was low enough level that simply leveling it up was a more EXP efficient source of improvement than the shop item.

The closest thing to a hard rule was always "Magic Modifier is generally irrelevant unless it's stupidly large, you have a reroll or amplification ability, or you have an ability that keys off the stat instead of the dice roll".

Ok guys, I see three paths here. One, we buy the next level of Eva's Veil. Which will blast us to ~98k HP and render Dragon's Maw useless against her.

The second is buying Advanced Catylast, which will immensely boost the power of Incandescent Armor.

Finally, we wait to buy Incandescent Weapon, which is 99% likely to be Incandescent Armor, but for Rico's Scepter.

Thoughts?

I'd like to save up our EXP for now. get to Suns Super.

Can we express our condolences for the dog before we go on?

Do we want to go towards Spring or east (probably winter?)

I'm leaning towards Veil just for safety's sake. But I also am curious about the Super Ability.

We can if a plan is made for it.

If we go east, I'm going to heavily advise for Veil level 13. Going with Spring, I'm more willing to wait, and feel we'd be more useful there. Also, we'll get the EXP from meeting Spring from choosing this.

As an aside, I feel as if there might be bonus EXP from meeting every season, but I'm not quite sure.

I'm also in favor of saving our EXP for now.

Also, I'm thinking head South, because I can't think of any IC justification for the twins wandering off by themselves quite yet. They don't even know the layout of the area!

In regards to whether or not now is a good time for Moon to get Shining Protector, I think we should wait until after she's had a training session to learn how to target herself multiple times with the Target By Level ability of Soothing Moonlight.

Since she's a damage sponge instead of a wall, it's important that she be capable of actual healing off the damage she takes.

I'd like to go east. incapacitate some enemies.

both sun and moon are now unlikely to take damage from the enemy mooks.
Sun now has a base resilience of 1,555 and 2,901 dice, which due to modifier save soon ends up being close to 4456 defense.
Which no sells the assault carbine.

Moon nosells damage below 14526.

their melee guy does 9000 damage. we can fly out of his range, or try to incapacitate him before he reaches us. or have moon be in front.
then make Sun regret him that he tried to hit us.

Counter argument, running into the RPG units will flat out fuck us over. The Squad Catains can easily kill Rico. And meeting up with Spring to find survivors may give us more EXP.

On the other hand, depending on the enemy's ATP, we may just be capable of no selling them with dodges, since we now have 13 ATP combined thanks to Spring.

I think we're sufficiently good to go right now. As for the plan, the last question Summer addressed us with:
Then her eyes wander over to you. "Or do you still want to help out?"

So here's the plan:

[X] Plan Follow the Advice
-[X] ""We do. How can we be of help, Summer?"" (yes, twin speak)
-[X] Follow Summer Dream's suggestion that actually lets you help and not just keeps you out of danger.

[X] EXP-Plan
-[X] Save it

This plan makes use of our exponential growth curve. Here's how it will go:
Veil of the Lunar Goddess: 98'781 (LVL 13) - 167'927 (LVL 14) - 285'475 (LVL 15) - 485'307 (LVL 16) - 825'021 (LVL 17)
Cost: 120+130+140+150+160=700 XP
Effective No-Sell - 25% (Veil of the Lunar Goddess) - 206'255

Sunlight Scepter: 5221 (LVL 11) - 9397 (LVL 12) - 16'914 (LVL 13) - 30'445 (LVL 14) - 54'801 (LVL 15) - 98'641 (LVL 16) - 177'553 (LVL 17) - 355'106 (Advanced Catalyst)
Cost: 100+110+120+130+140+150+160+85=995 XP
Effective No-Sell - 50% (Incandescent Armor) - 177'553
EDIT: Guys, I've made a calculation of how tanky we might become, and here's the thing. We can purchase Veil of the Solar Goddess for 1000 XP, or we can spend 995 XP on Sunlight Scepter LVL 17 and Advanced Catalyst and have Incandescent Armor with a tankiness of 177'553. It will be negated by Unstoppable, maybe Judgement and highly likely Smite. But it will be there.

Nope.
However, the bonus from Incandescent Armour is affected by Juggernaut and Unstoppable.
Again, TBF, I pointed out that Unstoppable is a negation to it. Comparatively, Veil of the Lunar Goddess does not suffer the same limitation.

I'm guessing (hoping) here that Veil of the Solar Goddess will mirror Moon's in that it will also shift the replacement Incandescent Armor effect down to key off of Total End Damage, giving Sun her Unstoppable-defense.

Or that Shining Protector will allow Eva to protect Rico.
On a side note, I am sad that Eva's ability allows Rico to ignore pain, but there's nothing to allow Eva to ignore pain. We've seen how that incapacitated her this most recent update.

I dont think Summer meant that in earnest when she asked if we still want to help. It was more like: "See you are only in the way and get hurt."

Thats why I would suggest that we take that crying girl back to the dorms and Summer can search the area a bit for other hidden enemys. That way we can help at least and it would be the thing the twins can do best now. Any other thing would be put us on a bad terms with Summer and would let us appear stubborn and foolish. That would be told to Strength and that would damage our reputation before we can build one.

Naturally I will create a solid vote today or tomorrow out of it.

...huh

I put Advanced Catylyst in my plan because I still had just enough EXP to buy it

Good to know that was objectively the right choice

With that plan we can help, but summer wont think bad of us. The fight seems mostly over and that way we can prevent from getting on bad terms with Summer. Because Summer wasnt happy with us coming along and within her eys we are just in the way.
With that plan we can prevent that our relation with her is getting worse.

We should do what we can best. If there is still need for it we can go and help looking for others girls after the crying girl is back at the dorms.

Alright; I made a small change to the sheet on the front page.
Eva and Rico now have the tab "Shared Abilities", which will hold every Ability they both have.

Having all of those in each of their Abilities-tabs was redundant and it ticked me off. Now everything looks nicer.

Okay... we have three plans, two of which are tied at two votes each.

The only thing everyone so far agrees on is to save their EXP.
