Would the Islamists really take their metaphorical ball and go home or revolt at this critical hour if we decided to fill the empty officer ranks from the socialist peasant militias I wonder? The rebellious Copt officers might survive a Christian League victory but the Islamists have just burned their bridges with the Europeans and would be crushed alongside the Socialists in an event of a Christian League victory. They might grudgingly accept the power grab rather than risk Egyptian defeat. We could probably create excuses as to why officers from the peasant militias are better. We could claim that the peasant militias are better trained or less tainted by the fallen colonial government. The excuse would be paper-thin but it might be enough to last the war.
The thing is that if there are a solid number of islamist officers then they can exert pressure over the army to make it an islamist institution or a islamist-sympathetic institution much like what is happening to our public healthcare thanks to Nizam Salaam being the minister health and social affairs.

I'd say decently reliable. These tanks were designed over several years and didn't have the pressure of the war pressing them into service. The speeds sound about right to me. In addition to speed, Polish Doctrine emphasizes the concentration of armoured forces into a spearhead to breakthrough lines. German Doctrine has them move with the rest of the army, at the front sure but as a whole.

Well, looking at the Islamists' favored response to the officer's strike, it seems that the Copts' concerns about a potential pogrom aren't unfounded. But among their demands to protect themselves and their remaining privileges, they actually bring up something that we might want to expand into a larger government policy. This is something we can extend to groups like the Sinai Bedouins, the displaced Nubians, the various Jewish communities, and the Shi'a Muslims.
Dedicating a minimum number of parliamentary seats to protected religious and ethnic minorities would be a good way to ensure that those groups can actually be a part of the higher level governmental processes. Otherwise they would need to gather themselves into effectively insular/isolated communities in order to ensure that they have enough voters in a single electoral district to reliably get a representative elected.
If we are going to give seats to every minority in the country it might be a good idea to redact a law forcing quotes, as in, the administration must contract a certain amount of people from different ethnic/religious groups and forcing juries (if we have them) to be properly representative of egyptian society.

Given the history of Islamists, appeasing them will just make them even more likely to coup the government. Appeasing the Islamists will work just about as well as trying to do the same with fascists, nazis or just about any ideology that is innately hostile to any kind of socialism. Like I can give a few reasons why having more Islamist officers is a terrible idea:
1. Given their response to the issue with coptic officers, do you wanna imagine the scale of war crimes they will inflict on non-sunni muslims (hell even fellow sunni muslims) in the levant? War crimes that I might add we will shoulder the blame.
2. Related to the above, there is no reason to trust that Islamist officers will work well with copts and socialists and won't attempt to sabotage them or hinder operations.
3. Having Islamists around at all is a bad idea if you have to do peace negotiations with the enemy, since any necessary compromise will be used aganist you and they may just assassinate you for it (Anwar el Sadat found that out the hard way).

That's why the Copts are so hostile is because they have to be highly insular otherwise they will get ripped apart by the Islamists for being non muslims but once the Copt officers were mixed with the Socialists they became far more friendly and radicalized because they were around a group that didn't want to kill them all and was willing to treat them as equals and not pawns.Its's also why the Copts didn't go full guns blazing since the Radical Copts told them that the government might be willing to comprimise.
