[X] Plan: By the beards of our ancestors!
-[X] Send out patrols to scout the immediate surroundings of the mountain (Intel)
-[X] There are still those that know the old roads beneath, send them to inquire at the other Dwarven Halls. They have not been maintained since the Great War however - spend 4 wealth
-[X] While dwarves have never been good at spying, we may be able to get information from travelers, bribes would certainly help loosen a few tongues.
-[X] There are other crops we can grow beneath the mountain, not many but it will allow our food supply to be protected
-[X] Commune with the Ancestral spirits ask them for their aid - spend 3 wealth
-[X] Study the actions of your ancestors, perhaps they will have guidance for you - spend 3 wealth
Otoh, mights and maybes are inherently as reliable as might and maybe nots, while the runesmiths are particularly interested in speaking with the ancestors asap.

Might I suggest at least explaining how you intend to spend the gold? My plan had specific data for what the wealth would be used on, which presumably helps.

If QM desires me to do so, sure, I can write-in something.
But the way I understood it (and what makes more sense from my PoW) is that spending the wealth is a mechanic and thus could be safely left in the hands of QM to resolve in the manner they find most sensible. @Terenak what say you, oh glorious one?
[X]Send out patrols to scout the immediate surroundings of the mountain. (Intel)
Roll: 50
The scouts return, the reports are mixed but the general consensus is that, firstly there are no armies currently amassing on our doorstep, nor is anyone attacking anyone else at the moment, though there are infrequent raids between the orcs and Duke Ferivos. Other than that things seem for the most part rather peaceful
[X] There are still those that know the old roads beneath, send them to inquire at the other Dwarven Halls. They have not been maintained since the Great War however
Roll: 85
A missive is put into your hands by those that went into the Old Roads from another Dwarf Hall
Glory unto your clan, cousin.
When news reached me of the survival of your kingdom I was moved with joy. Simply ask and I shall send what I can to aid you in your recovery and rebuilding.
Signed,
Ulfraz Ironhand, King of Hall Kurum-Tharaz

Roll: 22
While polite, there was little that travelers could tell your scouts that was not already known.
[X] There are other crops we can grow beneath the mountain, not many but it will allow our food supply to be protected
Roll: 100
Not only was the first crop successful, some enterprising dwarf has managed to make a damn fine alcohol from mushrooms, and the harvest was quite bountiful. A day is spent in complete merriment as a celebration of the first harvest and everyone gets rather sloshed.
+10 Glory
+5 Wealth
No need to worry about crops for a while
[X] Seek out the missing lore and discover why it went missing

Goblins, thieving, scheming, goblins. There were clear signs of forced entry by goblins who had made off with anything not nailed down and destroyed most of the rest. While some of the lore was recovered not all of it was, and now you knew why.
Martial - Goblins!? In our Hold!? Give the word your Majesty and we shall purge them from our halls
[] Send out patrols to scout the immediate surroundings of the mountain (Intel)
[] We may be few but there are still sturdy warriors among us, have them begin training as the newest members of our army (Gain a small but elite force of warriors) (More population is required to not lose any productivity from dedicated soldiers)
[] Begin training everydwarf as a militia member, all shall know how to defend themselves, (Gain Dwarven Militia, but slightly lose productivity elsewhere)
[] Begin working to clear out the nearby Orcs
[] Declare war on the Duke of Verosa for his insult against Dwarvenkind
[] Send the Axe dwarves into the tunnels after the Goblins, wherever they may be
Diplomacy - It is good that King Ironhand was able to respond, perhaps we can get some craftsdwarves to help repair some of the stonework
[] There are still those that know the old roads beneath, send them to inquire at the other Dwarven Halls. They have not been maintained since the Great War however
[] Try to better relations with Duke Ferivos, try to establish some form of trade instead.
[] There once was an Elven kingdom to the north that, while not friendly with you, were at least not your enemy. Find out if they are open to being friendlier, or if their elvish minds have decided to ignore our plight.
[] Send a message to King Ulfraz requesting aid
Intrigue - Goblins are a tricky lot and won't be easy to find. Allow me to send out scouts to find where they are before the trail gets destroyed by careless feet
[] More information on the Orcs is always a good thing
[] While dwarves have never been good at spying, we may be able to get information from travelers, bribes would certainly help loosen a few tongues.
[] There was a human Empire that desired our riches, but empires rise and fall constantly, find out if this one has gone like the rest
[] The Wild Elves have never been fans of dwarven kind, raiding our patrols and caravans, always hard to find, but if there are signs of them being out there it's better to know than to suspect.
[] Search out the Goblins lair and try to find what they did with our lorestones
Stewardship - Morale is high and bellies are full my lord, perhaps we can see to refilling the treasury as well
[] Begin crafting wares to sell, {whoever you trade to will require a diplomacy action next turn to set it up}
[] Set the Mines to full bore, there must be precious metals hidden within this mountain
Learning - Now that the reason the lore is missing has been discovered there is little to do but wait for it to be found or truly lost. In the meantime a few of the scholars had a bizarre idea that they're requesting investment in. They claim it will help the rebuilding efforts
[] Invest in the scholars' work, will require a minimum of 10 gold spent
[] Commune with the Ancestral spirits ask them for their aid
Personal Actions
[] Add yourself to one of the other actions to increase its chances
[] Study the actions of your ancestors, perhaps they will have guidance for you
[] Train one of your stats, the King is to be the Pinnacle of his race, make it so.
[] Rest yourself This is no time to rest if we are to regain our Glory (Locked until current Ambition is complete)
Grudge Book?
This is a very important OOC vote, are Grudge Books a thing in this universe, it's a mishmash of different dwarven subtypes but this is one that can cause problems. For those unaware a Grudge Book is something that exists with Warhammer Fantasy Dwarfs where anything that is done to insult or attack them is written down
In essence, it's pretty much the place where they record everyone and everything that ever "extremely" wronged them. The book itself came into being since the time when the Dwarfs came into being, and was since then passed down from High King to High King, with the current one being Thorgrim Grudgebearer. Whenever someone did something really horrible, like hiring them to build a palace then refusing to pay them, or attacking a trade cart killing dozens if not hundreds of Dwarfs for no reason other than you didn't like them (and not stealing a keg of beer for example, something ignored in Total War: Warhammer where 'shortchanging them for a palace by two coppers' counts), then that person's name/group's name/army's name/or even race's name would go into the book with the description of the grudge-worthy act.
One thing to note is that this isn't The Big Book of Grudges from Fantasy, in this setting each Dwarven Hall/Kingdom/Hold has its own Book of Grudges kept by that Hall's King detailing any grudge towards that Hold or Dwarvenkind itself, sometimes Grudges will travel from Kingdom to Kingdom as another King feels that the grudge is big enough that they wish to write it down themselves
Grudges MUST be dealt with at some point, and most Dwarves would prefer it at the point of an axe. At the moment you would have 2 Grudges if the vote is yes,
1. Duke Ferivos of Verosa for his insult to our diplomats and demands of fealty and tribute
2. Goblins, for stealing lorestones and destroying the history of Hammerhall
The Vote is wether or not Grudge Books are a thing in universe, this is the only time this vote is being made and it will be final as such there will be a 24 hour Moratorium on voting because of this one vote
[] Yes to the Book of Grudges
[] No to the Book of Grudges
24 HOUR VOTE MORATORIUM BECAUSE OF THE GRUDGE BOOK VOTE ANY VOTES BEFORE THAT TIME WILL BE IGNORED
As for me, @Terenak I need more info.
Just how serious would the grudges take?
I don't want WHF level of spiraling inexorably into self-destruction in pursuit of grudges, that only give birth to new grudges for that was lost in the pursuit in the first place.
So, would our Dwarves consider grudges more important than common sense and self-preservation?
If yes, then no thanks. Otherwise, having grudges would make a good mechanic, methinks.
