I feel I should point out that this is the approach she takes with Akatsuki. Nagamon makes a mental note that Hibiki will require a more forceful approach.

Also, in both instances, Akatsuki and Hibiki fall prey to the common Japanese porn trope of the victim allowing herself to becomer her abuser's plaything as a sacrifice for her sisters/friends.

Okay, they replied that indeed it was supposed to be a deconstruction of the extreme portrayals of the meme and inquired if they played it too straight (I replied in the affirmative) before reassuring me that it is non-canon in respect to all of their other stories.
 
If it was supposed to be a deconstruction, they probably should have left an author's note on something.

....then again, I recall wanting to be provacative a decade ago. Which didn't work out the way i intended it lol.
 
It's like once again suddenly calling it a "Deconstruction" being an ass cover for an awful story.

On a less depressing note
Has anyone written a fanfic from the point of view of one of the fairies? I wouldn't really know where to start, but it strikes me as a potentially very interesting subject to explore.

His Will Be Done had one chapter, partially written in 3rd person perspective of a Fairy Captain. And Fairy Commisar.

It was crossover with 40K, yes.

I could see it but I'd probably have it being pretty much Touhou or 'Humanity had Declined' fairies on a boat!

As one's stuck their head in the barrel of the main battery, and is very much stuck. And another is riding on the radar.

At least they get (mostly) serious when in a battle. Just don't ask how they're fixing problems that spring up. Or give a ship just a little extra boost of speed at times. You'll probably go mad trying to figure it out.

May be a good idea that most don't speak fairy.

Although I wouldn't trust a fairy pilot's report EVER, they're pilots and have you seen how many ships sunk were massively misidentified by pilots during the war?
Edit: Note Fairy Pilot training has resulted in them all having a photograph of their carrier in the cockpit after they kept landing on the wrong carriers. And a few cases where it appeared when confused Fairies tried to land on a Aircraft Carrier Oni!! Reportedly the Abyssal was quite startled by this.

Like most everything else, it is also due for a future rework. Still I consider it one of my better works.

I made myself sad. Got Battlestations Pacific and Midway for cheap, and ran into Yukikaze in the American campaign, during the Battle of Santa Cruz. The torpedo bombers missed the carrier she was escorting, Junyou, and sank her instead. On the bright side, I saved her from a lot of sadness. Sorry Beaver.

Which is why you don't let them sit in there for days on end, which is why I said bath. Plus neither is soap and skin.

Knows what happens if you stay in soapy water to long? Or water in general?

You start to get sores.

Albeit you have to be in there for a while, more then 16 hours.

The same can be said for most skin care products. Put too much on or have it on for too long can cause more problems then its fixes.

Shipgirl vinegar baths will be no different.

That would actually be an interesting story idea. I know pacific had an alternate what if japan won scenario. So how weired would it be for when the abyssals start showing up for both sides to get the ships that lost the war first followed by the ships that won the war later on.
 

Recently I was directed to this piece. Distinctly uncomfortable listening, but that was very much the intention. A perfect anthem for the Abyssals.
 
This one is my personal preference for the theme of Abyssal might. It's just so powerful.



And if we're talking Abyssals, I made something several weeks ago.



Large Cruiser Princess

Appears to be designed to counter and destroy Manifold Blade-based deployments; "Catching the trident and breaking its wings." Heavily armed for close-range effect with 254mm high-velocity guns with Abyssal 'Howler' armour-piercing biological effect shells and supercavitating swarm torpedo launchers. Defenses adapted by BRUISER for close engagements and equipped with superior torpedo protection. BERSERKER and PUGILIST adaptations augments violence further. CASTER abilities adapted for disruption and subversion of radar-based fire control systems, LONER abilities tuned for extreme tactical jump accuracy; all abilities considered 'loud' with no concern for stealth and concealment.

Preferred targets are fast battleships and cruisers of all tonnages.

so there are indeed ideas that involve spaceship girls. however there is now one that i just came up with an idea for.

Destiny yeah bungie's FPS finally has some named ships to involve in a story.

The Exodus Black. Following her horrible crash on the area known as Nessus she witnesses her crew die one by one at the hands of the vex and due to the environment screwing everything over.

years later she wakes up when the vex begin cyberforming Nessus. and she has a shipgirl form what it looks like i have no idea i just came up with this right now. the thing is she is mute. so we still need to rely on Failsafe and Failsafe to talk for her.

so the interesting story would be having this mute interact with Cayde-6 and the guardians that rescues him from the vex network. as for what happens i don't exactly have a big idea maybe when the expansion rolls around.

Oh, definitely. My musical inspiration for the Abyssals draws from a mixture of heavy metal and eerie-to-outright-terrifying ambience, but it's this and the other directly Kancolle-inspired pieces that make up the core. The lyrics are also utterly fantastic.
