Oh hey, this is alive again. Neat!

Too bad about Sara/Nubby degenerating like that. Was kinda hoping for a ongoing rivalry or something with them. I'm guessing something in their DNA caused their brain to go to mush. I'd even hazard it as some sort of prion disease, so I recommend not eating the corpse afterwards, maybe even dragging far away from our den so it doesn't possibly infect the soil.

Volcano lairs are often a bit overrated.
Or well, a lair in a volcano is great for your image and all that. But building a lair in the actual crater has the problems that then you can't have any furniture that isn't lava-proof, and gases smell terrible. Plus the lava cools and gets igneous rock all over everything, and things keep getting covered with a layer of ash. Just makes cleaning such a pain.

As much as I would rather let the people with knowledge of Diseases and other biological stuff handle it, we really *should* handle this now, before it potentially gets worse than it already is

As one person brought up, she could be suffering from a Prion Disease, which is *literally impossible* to get rid of, and if she gets Brain Stuff onto the soil they'll have to replace basically *all of it* to make sure it doesn't spread.

And that's without getting into the potential for her to attack someone else in the pen instead of repeatedly ramming the tree.

Also, also, even though there's no lights on, metaphorically, we still shouldn't let her Suffer.

You can kill things without causing any bleeding, snapping the neck, for example.

Though, if we're being honest here, people are probably just choosing the Blue Option, since, as the OP said, that's what we've specc'd almost exclusively into through the Quest.

Still, minimizing contact would be in our best interest, and it doesn't really seem like leaving her alone will cause anything bad to happen, given she is completely unresponsive.

Whilst I might be fascinated by biology, such that I'd all too willingly experiment on myself & (similarly willing) human test subjects, even I have my standards. And while the source could be a prion, it could also be an incompatibility in Nubby's DNA that caused a paradoxical/self-destructive/contradictory development in her brain that basically killed her.
