[X] Shake the bottle.
[X] Try to explain and demonstrate stands: even if Ryohei can't see them, he would notice the table stand becoming as soft and heavy as the couch, or a large wound healing itself in an instant.
[X] Your dad had a high interest when it came to medicine. If you're going to keep doing this, you might as well have the basics under your belt in case you aren't near Josuke.
You were just wanting to do this one thing. You wanted to shake the bottle and see what it felt like for Aqua Necklace to be in pain. You had shook it with a mischievous grin, knowing that it was probably a bad idea. But it was fun. Seeing him squirm and tremble at the power you had over him. The bottle was sturdy enough since it was just reformed but Jotaro glared at you.
"Stop shaking the bottle, you idiot. What if it breaks again? You caused that last time, remember?" His sharp words reminded you of your previous action and he had his hand outstretched. "Give the bottle over. Before you do something stupid."
"Can't let a girl have her fun it seems. You're almost like an old man already, ya know." You commented with a pout.
"I'm twenty-eight, I'll have you know." Jotaro snipped back, removing the potential threat from your hand.
"Wow, you really are, ya know..." You gave a dead-pan look. "I'm sixteen. I don't want to be boring like you, ya know..."
Jotaro glared at you silently. He didn't even retort back, he just looked away. Until he finally figured out what he wanted to say. "Maki, you really ought to treat your elders with respect. You don't want to see me angry..."
Getting in between of you two, Josuke inwardly groaned. "Please calm down. We kinda have my grandpa to deal with right now..."
And that was because Ryohei was tapping his foot, looking at the three of you. There was no way around it. You all had to explain. But how? Stands weren't able to be physically seen. Because of that, it made this much harder. It took what felt like an hour, when it was in reality just more than ten minutes or so, to compose up of an idea all together. They all had to put aside
"Wait." You held up your hand. "Idea of how to explain. He can't see the actual Stand. However! He can see what they do... I mean he's already seen that."
"Y-Yeah!" Josuke replied immediately. "I mean, you can't see, but those are our Stands at work. Seriously. We mean it, grandpa. If wounds start sealing left and right, then... that's because of my Stand. Crazy Diamond's ability is restoration after all... it can revert things back to normal."
"That when you got injured, your wounds suddenly disappeared without warning?" Ryohei had questioned.
You had given a confident smirk. "Yup, that was Josuke's Stand. My Stand's ability, When She Shines, has property transference, ya know. I call it property exchange because it sounds cooler, but eh. That's just me, ya know. Like this!"
Giving a quick demonstration, you had When She Shines switch the property of your weight with the weight of a pillow and sat on the table with ease, feeling no discomfort in the slightest in doing so.
"Which explains why things suddenly starting to not behave as they normally should as objects... Anyways, I think I get the picture now. Just don't cause trouble with your powers, for lord's sake. Heaven knows that people with power like that..." Scratching his head, he had grunted. "Never mind. Just don't do anything stupid. Your powers aren't play toys. I'm going to take a nap in my room. Or at least try. This already has been quite a long day..."
You blinked. He was right. It looked like it was getting closer to sunset. You had thought about what to do. You weren't really in use when it came to the medicine department or the treatment department. Josuke was the one who was able to do that with a snap of his fingers with Crazy Diamond... And you couldn't rely on Josuke for every little thing. You recalled that your dad had an almost ingrained interest when it came to medicine. He had tons of books at the house. You weren't sure if any of them would be quite useful for your fights, but...
Might as well give it a try, right?
Pulling out book after book from your father's shelves in his study, trying to find medical books for beginners. You, of course, reversed the process on yourself and the pillow. You couldn't stay like that forever. And you said your good-byes to Josuke, Jotaro, and Ryohei, as well. You were relieved that you were able to help Ryohei. Although you felt like that was a miracle. Toying with miracles was something that only gods could do. Did it meant that fate just happened to be kind that one moment and spared Josuke's grandfather? ...Or did it mean that worse things were coming up?
Your father was a kind man, who encouraged you to learn beyond your means, saying that knowledge was power. That if you learned, the more powerful you were. You debated on that topic quite a few times with him. It was an interesting subject. Strength or knowledge. Brains versus brawn. You could never truly say you definitively believed in either topics. You tend to not debate about a lot of things, you've come to realize. Soon you found the books that you needed through your listless thinking.
"Basic Medicine 101... 102... hm. Both of these books are not too thick, but..." You observed, as you winced at the page amounts. "Not exactly how many I expected."
"Found the books, Maki?" Your dad popped in. He was tall. Not as insanely tall as Jotaro, but tall enough that it can intimidate you sometimes. You must have inherited his blue hair. Mom also joked that you inherited your father's brains as well. Although it was a very light joke in this regard. "Medicine is utterly fascinating. I have a few notes here and there regarding about medicine. Not sure if that'd help but..."
"It'd help plenty, ya know." You said with a gentle smile. You placed the books down on the table in his study and pulled him into a hug. "Thanks, dad. Love you."
Your dad hugged you back and gave you a head pat. "Your welcome. I love you too. Oh! I know you might be ready for your studies, but when you can, come down and visit down for dinner."
"Actually, I'd like dinner first, ya know."
After the lovely dinner that your father had prepared, you had made sure that you grabbed the books and opened them up. You were reading through them. The basics seemed like you would be able to learn in a snap. You weren't sure how much you would make progress. Especially considering tomorrow Anjuro might show up... no. You had to think about the medical things, first. You had set up some piano music in your room. As much as you disliked studying, music made it easier to just get wrapped up in things and to keep on going.
Your eyes were glued to the text. You practically were putting it to memory. You really weren't the one that patched others up. That usually was somebody else's deal or that girl's special talent. She was good at these sort of things. You were more of an... enforcer, if you thought about your position? You needed to play more RPG games... you surely were in a class of your own.
Acquired Skill: First Aid - You can't say you are a professional, but at least you know the basics in case something happens. Look at the Character Profile for knowledge on Maki's new skill.
Checking the time on your clock, you had stared. It was about... hm. Was it really nine pm? You found it hard to believe. That meant you spent practically two hours or so reading up just the basics, this included sprains, broken bones and the type of things to put in a first aid kid. God, medicine must be really complicated. You had to give the doctors and nurses some credit: who would have the patience for reading all this material?
You still have some time before tomorrow. You're sure that something big will happen tomorrow...
