Based off pure gutfeel, I'm inclined to pick the 'mocking voice.'

For Capone's section, I'd try to contact the voices (lowercase, thankfully) that he heard. Who on earth could be living in this horrorshow Jesselton's made his abode?

It doesn't matter if you like it. You don't have a choice- you have given it up. You have cast it away. You have given up your volition, your dreams, your manipulations. Now, you are the toy. You are the tool.

This is all you're good for now.
Uh, getting some serious Yan vibes here. Oof.

So we know for sure Carmen is still watching Jesselton, which is concerning. What's the chance she won't snitch on Capone?

In his reflected masquerade, the King in Binds raises his blade.

Through time and space, beyond the barrier that separates different worlds- he sees a king.

A momentary bow of his head, cautious to make sure to not strain his binds. A single word, spoken in respect, surprising the Sinners that fight below.

"Amiya."
WELP. Amiya, if a voice shows up in your head and you start turning into a mummy, well, it's cool. He likes you.

Also this is taking place during Railway 4?!

"God has abandoned us." the voices whisper.

No.

"It's a good day! Are you still shy today?"

No, not this one either.

"In the shadow of the valley of death, you shall fear the apostle of darkness!"

The voices begin to fade, one by one. The louder ones go first.

None of these will be enough.

A last whisper resounds, and then it dies.

"Prayers are meant to to sound like this."

"It's a good day! Are you still shy today?"

This one again. Oddly persistent.

"Please don't let the only thing left of me be this pair of green shoes."

Again- not enough. No matter how hard you try, the self-perpetuating phenomenon remains out of reach. You clutch your head as the headache worsens. Your vision is blurry.

"The snow is steadily melting... Perhaps because spring is coming, or it might be the palace collapsing."

Nooo Parvis don't roll the gatcha it's bad civilization-

Okay but I don't recognize some of these Abnos.

I see Shy Look Today and Snow Queen, but the others are a blank.

Hmm. Lots of religious Abnos. Some about loss and fading away. Two of self-suppression via outside pressure. Fits Parvis. But just what is he looking for?

You move to tear the chunks of ice from your cheek, but they're not hurting, and- the machine is acting up. The compatibility rate is increasing steadily- you might extract one today. Your fourth.

Only two of them have been any use- and Red is the only one aware enough to collaborate. The others are dangerous. Liabilities, had you not entrapped them with her help.

They will not be of use.
He has four Abnos in total: Red Hood, the Heart, and two others that are too dangerous and are in containment.

Red and the Heart... I think they both have to do with obsession? Not sure how else they relate to Parvis.

Also he has Red as a bodyguard. Crud.

[ ] The soft voice.
"Citizens of this city can never see nor touch each other. That is our revolutionary policy."
We know this one. Citizen of Metropolaris, the one that gives the charge shield EGO gift.

[ ] The sing-song voice.
" ⠀ please "
I have no clue. There's not a lot to go on.

[ ] The mocking voice.
"The trouble with trying to make the right accident happen is that it won't. That is not what "accident" means."
This... is this a Douglas Adams quote?
What the hell is Mostly Harmless doing in an Arknights/Project Moon quest?

In retrospect "Mostly Harmless" can apply to a lot in both worlds so yeah that tracks.

Something to do with circumstances spiraling outside your control, how some things simply cannot be influenced how you want it...

Sounds like one of this Zayins with a game-ending ability, like the Train or the Baby. Maybe it releases all the Abnos out at once?

We're choosing what Parvis gets, so keep that in mind. Best scenario is that he gets something too useless or too dangerous and he refuses to use, but we can't count on that. It will probably show up one way or another.

There's a hole in the ground. Dug quite deep, going by your senses, and barricaded as well- but it's not with wood, it's with a lot of heavy metal objects. It seems to lead to a basement.

You can hear whispers from deep inside.

"-he's up there again. Shut up-"

And then silence.

Who the hell is this? There at least two people in there, maybe more.

Is Jesselton tracking them on Parvis' orders? Someone from Rhine Labs? Who else is unaccounted for? Kirsten? Jara? Dorothy?

I want to make contact with them, but I believe Jesselton primary perceives via sound...
I don't know if we can talk without alerting him.

-[X] The barricade doesn't seem like it's a single piece. Try to slither a tendril through the gaps between and communicate with the people inside by forming letters on a flesh-sheet of paper that the people inside can write on with their fingers.

I love this quest, I really do. Every new update is like a new reason to scream in horror at what's revealed to us. It's very Project Moon.

Parvis isn't just playing with fire. He's bringing the damn sun down onto us.

No Parvis, it turns out playing with fire doesn't make you Prometheus, it just gets you burned.

As for the other option...

GM, to clarify is the barricade one solid piece or is it made of numerous other objects? Can something small enough squeeze through it?

Also, does Capone have any paper and writing implements?

Capone doesn't have any paper and writing implements, but he could definitely make those out of himself if he wanted. And the barricade is seemingly made of a ton of random shit- pieces of metal, rock, even wood, stacked together and compressed. You don't know how it's holding, but there's definitely gaps, even if small- you could pass through.

Funny thought I had.

Lapland: "Texas, I'm leaving you for Capone."
Texas: "Kay."
Capone: Sweating like an Alaskan in a sauna.

I was so enraptured in the past few days spent catching up that I registered a new account solely to comment. I love this Quest and your interpretations of the Turbs are amazing.

Here's something no one has brought up in the thread yet: Alvar's weapon isn't just a hammer, it's a Pogo-Hammer, that he rides on. It's why he can gain massive amounts of Haste via dodging (you couldn't stop him from gaining momentum) before he jumps on people like a meteor (Keep It Blunt) or interferes with everyone's attacks (that one mass Block page). Seeing him in full fighting form would be just as whacky as Mr. H.

Tangent: In terms of the mod's gameplay mechanics, Alvar and Max are the most fun to play as for me. It's so nice gaining Haste/Strength in the double digits via Leg Day/Challenge Lift before destroying a poor fellow the following turn. Other fun members include Linette (thanks for the gimmicks, NERD); Rat King (thanks for the buffs, NERD); Lech (Chain-stunning with Pause), and Beats (big payoff with Skyfall and Silence Between Two Strikes).

About the current situation, Nicole is kinda outclassed by the Red mercenary IMO. She has arguably one of the "weakest" kits in the office (alongside Stock Man? Maybe?) but that's from a gameplay perspective. Smokebeast secretions could mess with Red or maybe not as Abnormalities operate on different rules.

QM, aside from Turbulence Office, which mod characters do you think would make for a good crossover protagonist? If I were to write my own (silly) crossover I'd choose between Blake the Monochrome Dragon, the Orange Orange (craziest deck I've seen, what is Rutacaea?), and Shiori Novella Shion (friends optional).

I'll vote later, when I'm on an actual computer.

City Of Drama characters are probably some of the most conceptually interesting in the roster of Ruina mods. I am a huge fan of Pickman, for one. The second part isn't as well-done, mechanically speaking (in contrast to the debuff-heavy Witch of Thorns, the "flips the game sideways" effects of White Garden, admiteddly boring Pale Damage Saviour, and Pickman's selfbleed pages*, everyone in the second part is just "get more Power and get benefits for having more Power), but the "man sacrificing absolutely everything he has out of sheer sunk cost fallacy" story they had going on was something that appealed a lot to me, personally. I would actually go and make a Pickman quest if this one didn't fill by brainspace. Traces of Veils is probably only going to continue once I finish this one, by the way. Sorry. As long as I don't feel the need to reboot Fate/Black Moon.

Hm. Who else... I am not actually a fan of Angel of Ruina (I think King of the Endgame and Paige's EGO are boring in concept even if the execution is good) and Liu Ye (I have my limits when it comes to story. It shouldn't take THIRTY MINUTES for a reception to start, and holy shit is it cartoonishly overturned), but I have a soft spot for R-Corp receptions and Distorted [Character] receptions are always extremely high quality.

If I were to make a Distorted Rudolph/Nemo/San quest, I'd make it Carmen focused, actually- you're some sort of Light-spirit helping Carmen spread her message with the help of a squad of Distortions freshly returned from the Library. Or just an R-Corp Arknights quest like this one, but more gamey and tactical; instead of this freeform one, you'd essentially have a Mercenary Company simulator with a given Pack escaping the Library into Terra.

*I love Self-Bleed. I ADORE Self-Bleed and Self-Burn. They are some of the most inventive and fun concepts Ruina had to offer, though there was painfully little of it- I love how mods expanded the directions it could go in. I love HP as a resource- yes, I played Suicide Black before (though I'm devoted to RDW nowadays) in MtG.

-[X] Make some paper and a writing implement, write a message introducing yourself and asking who they are and if they need help. Ask if it's safe to just talk.

Best to err on the side of caution. Being quiet seems important.

Also less likely to freak people out by literally forming tentacle flesh-paper right in front of them.

I mean, our paper and pen will literally be made out of Capone's flesh, so I called it flesh paper. Our votes are basically the same. :p

"Yet, I am bound to reign alone atop this solitary throne…"

Your eyes shoot up. This one is perfect. The data is responding. You can pull them out.

...you feel a weight on your back. He has found you unworthy. Rage swells inside you before the red bandages begin to manifest.

The rage becomes panic as the bandages move to take your head.

That partly explains why Arabella is your favorite. I never did get her signature move correct. Indeed mods explored self-bleed in different ways, from the simple Amplified Rusted Chains to Arabella's Mortal Bleed, to Pickman's keypave, to Nerissa Ravencroft Crowley completely changing how Bleed works while she's on the field. At least self Bleed is easier to work with than a mod whose gimmick is self-Paralysis (forgot the name).

The Shrine Makers is the one you're thinking of. It's the folks who are just shapes due to being full-body replacements.

This will be very interesting. The King in Binds is currently the only Abnormality that has a clear/grey Sin Gem on its egg form. What that truly means is up to our dear author, though.

I can't claim this is a good plan, but if it works it'd be pretty funny. It's definitely less creepy than manifesting words of flesh inside their safehouse/prison/whatever this is.

Yeah that's true. I just thought slipping the message in like a normal person would be less alarming than SUDDEN TENTACLE.
It's gonna be formed out of tendrils either way, and it's going to be especially noticeable when the flesh-paper starts warping itself to write new letters.

For the sake of practicality, I'd like to ask if you'd be willing to change your vote since our votes are pretty much the same. Our ideas are currently tied at 2 votes with people trying to talk and then use acid on the door, which I think is a mistake since whatever we're dealing with here seems like it has very good hearing and violently lashes out against anything that makes even a tiny noise.

Seeing Red [PMMM x LoR] Crossover

When the Magical Girl of Courage falls in her bitter battle at the Library's heart, she finds herself transposed. The golden grace of true light in her heart is all she takes along into the city of Mitakihara. New acquaintances and experiences await, yet no friends. Never friends. Not for...

If you need something other then my irregularly-updating-quest to scratch your LoR itch, Naron opened another Magical Girl-related story! They have a pretty good track record, so follow that one if you would!

If Gambino figured out camouflage, he probably figured out Chromatophores, which could be used to outline letters. Although it would be unsettling for the inhabitants to look at a flesh billboard.

I almost forgot. We've reached 300k words (with 80k more in the sidestory content)! Thanks for everything, guys!
