We actually don't know that. We know the Apostles are boosted, but to what degree is unknown. How well does their mobility compare to Amiya and Mon3tr's? We don't know. Who's our mobile and most combat experienced asset right now? Sieg.

I can return the same criticism. The Apostles are not obligated to engage Amiya and Mon3tr unless they're forced to, and one way to force them to do so is by having Sieg engage them and then position them in a way that Mon3tr and Amiya can lock all 3 of them into a melee brawl. It also provides Mon3tr and Amiya with an advantage in that while Jamie and Sona are busy with Sieg, Mon3tr and Amiya can potentially get a free hit in while their attention is occupied.
What exactly do you think the third Apostle will be doing if not fighting Amiya and Kal'tsit? My stance is that the time spent using Sieg to give our allies a minor tactical advantage is time that really ought to be spent fighting Adam, because leaving him free is a lot more dangerous than leaving one of the Apostles alone.

Look, you need to give Amiya & Kal some trust. They're highly experienced and powerful combatants who know how to handle themselves. We shouldn't be undermining our overall strategy in an attempt to hold their hand in a brawl - let Sieg focus on Adam, because hitting him is the only way we'll bring this fight to any resolution.

It's very simple. We have 4 opponents (Andoian, Jamie, Sona, Adam) while we only have 3 combatants (Kal'tsit uses Mon3tr to fight on her behalf, she doesn't actually fight herself).

We want Sieg to hit Adam.

Sieg cannot hit Adam if our remaining 2 combatants are in duels, and 1 Apostle is free to intercept Sieg on his way to hit Adam. As such, we need to neutralize that threat by ensuring all 3 Apostles are busy with something else.

This fits perfectly with our overall strategy, and I'm confused as to why you don't think so. Simply put, Sieg can't hit Adam if an Apostle decides to interfere, so we need to actually set things up so that no one can interfere with him. This isn't holding their hand, this is working with them to set-up a situation in our favor by neutralizing the enemy's advantage in manpower and thus action economy, the kind of thing Sieg excels at.

Lucid, we're going to be using the Dreaming Current heavily, given that it's our only practicable way of hurting Adam. How exactly would an Apostle 'intercept' us without getting vaporized? Honestly, having one of them try to get involved in the fight would arguably be for the best, since they can't really contribute to a battle between two fighters full-running on Aleph-class Abnormalities.

We need to actually get in range of Adam, who as you note, is flying.

Sieg cannot fly and the Apostles have wings. Dreaming Current creates a corridor of liquids for its charge, liquids fall down to the earth due to gravity. Sieg needs to actually jump high enough above Adam and get close enough to so that corridor hits Adam. Sieg cannot do that if he jumps and gets engaged by an Apostle mid-air before he gets enough elevation above Adam, and the Apostles have the advantage in aerial mobility because they can fly and Sieg can't.

We have never seen Dreaming Current actually use its corridors to hit something mid-air, so we need to assume it can't and improvise accordingly.

I would point out that the Dreaming Current is an Abnormality, and to them the laws of physics are more a suggestion than an order, so I don't think we'll have the difficulties you expect here.

That being said, my patience for this has been exhausted. I've given my suggestions for your plan - if you feel so strongly about the matter, then feel free to ignore them and let the cards fall as they may.

Again, we have never seen the Dreaming Current hit something mid-air. I will not plan on it displaying an ability it has never demonstrated as possible, Abnormality or not, because otherwise, I might as well hope that the Dreaming Current can overdose WhiteNight on drugs and kill Adam that way.

If you can find a citation that demonstrates the Dreaming Current can hit things mid-air, then do, but until then, I'm not gonna base plans on capabilities that only theoretically exists. I thank you for the advice, but in this case, I do believe caution is the name of the game.

Uhhhh, could I ask if something can be added to the plan? I would like for a vote that prevents the Bishop from approaching this place. Perhaps by asking our allies through Abel if someone vulnerable could be coming this way (and hope that Ayam remembers she told Quintus to come with him).

It's just that before Adam had to search for specific people to make into apostles, and from what I understood the requisite could be along the lines of "wants to change the world", the thing is that Adam is now corroded so WN is the one in control... Would it be that strange to believe it possible that the requisite changed at least enough to put Quintus in danger? It wouldn't surprise me if WN wanted an apostle that's a Bishop.

The Bishop was being drawn to Adam by Carmen, and last we saw him, he was on his way here, but I'm not sure Sieg ICly knows that Bishop Quintus is here and is a potential Apostle candidate. I don't think we even know his exact location at the moment.

Yeah... You're right, I guess I was panicking a little at the possibility of a sudden fourth apostle.

WAIT! I meant the second one! The second one!
EDIT: It was a missinput! Missinput!

...god damn it. I wasn't really paying all that much attention.

Next time just edit the original post if you want to rewrite a plan, guys.

Edit: @LucidProp, the second one was your plan right? Everyone okay with letting it pass?

If it wasn't for this page, you'd lying on the floor, bleeding out. It really is nifty.

No matter how much you bleed, it just doesn't seem to matter at all. It's such a strange thing. No lightheadedness, your body isn't any paler then usual…

Instead, you feel stronger.

The aches and pains make the world more… real. The colors are sharper, the sounds more vivid, the scents a veritable banquet of sensation. The mere idea of a life-or-death situation already made your heart beat faster, but here, facing this Distortion, you can hear its feverish pulsation. Every cell of your body is singing to this melody.

Is this how Pickman lived? No wonder he sought death like some kind of demented vulture. It's seriously addictive.

Your lost blood seems to not matter- as if an infinite amount of it runs in your veins.

- Hemomatic Boost: If there was ever such a thing as "weaponized suffering," this discipline of Bloodfiend hemokinesis would fit it quite nicely.

I know this isn't relevant to the current situation but it just occured to me, would this Librarian work well with Arabella?

I got back into Arknights and I blame this quest for it.
With that out of the way. Christ almighty. I got a fucking 6 star on my first roll back in the game

Good luck on the Monster Hunter rolls, unless you mean to say you got the Yato. Oh speaking of the Monster Hunter event, a friend pointed it out to me before but

The dogs enemies are refer to as "hound" instead of well... "dogs." When they pointed it out to me and I saw this, I began to start picking up on other things like them calling birds "fowlbeast" and the like.

i uh missed a lot, huh

I need a LOT of help catching up lmao

I missed a lot too, but this is looking really good. God I honestly love this fic so much, since it took what was otherwise a meme mod and gave some creative, and in some cases, really compelling backstories to characters

So.

Uh.

Sorry for the hiatus, everyone. I've been tangled up with some work stuff IRL and just had no real time for this. It's unlikely I'll be speeding up beyond the one-chapter-maybe-two-a-week schedule even now.

But anyway, I've got a new choice for you. Would you like a new Interlude, before the fight continues? Sorry for ripping you off, @Lepidoptera

[ ] Interlude: "Adam"

(Have you ever been told that you are incomplete? That you are not enough?)

[ ] Interlude: What Is, What Is-Not

(It's all new world. A second chance to live. But yet again, I've chosen to be... this.)

[ ] Interlude: Yet Again, Meanwhile...

(Rhodes Island is an interesting place.)

[ ] No Time To Lose

(Proceed immediately to the next chapter.)
