Indestructible Spirit (Kancolle AU)

@Skywalker_T-65 , I do have a question: Did Renown and Repulse ever get built in this timeline?

IIRC they were mentioned in one of the early posts so they're canon for this timeline - although I agree they're unlikely to have been built. However, the 1914-15 ships, whatever the program/design, are still likely to be cancelled as otl leaving some turrets and armour plate available.

Maybe the Germans laid down one or two more battlecruisers of their own. Say a fourth Derfflinger alongside Hindenburg and perhaps the Mackensen class design was finalised earlier (with the first couple being ordered a couple of months before the war instead of after the war started.)

They have both shown up, yes.

This said I've already put thought into how to justify this. There was a little hint dropped in the Sara bit. Otherwise though...that's Arc 2. Because that Arc is Europe. Which means more Brits and Germans and more of Indy's past.

Hm.

I wonder if I can use WSG!Kongou for any of the Brit battlecruisers I haven't established a design for yet...

HMS Tiger, finally a bride and not just a bridesmaid.

Not too many Brit Botes with 14" guns. But that doesn't really matter. Repulse and Renown might work if you don't like their WSG looks. Courageous and Glorious had only two twin turrets, so that could work for them. Since Hood's already established, the only later girl who could fit the image is Vanguard.

I'd say one of the splendid kitties, since a familial resemblance could be made to work with them, maybe Queen Mary or Princess Royal?

On a side note, since Implacable was an active battlecruiser at the time, what were the otl Implacable CVs called in the Indyverse?

So, is this story still going on? I thought it was really good and I was hoping for more chapters. Especially liked this bit about Saratoga being a Battlecruiser and being the 'Darling of the Navy'. Warms my heart (If I had one)

Since nothing has been posted for over four years, I'd say it's dead.

I would agree with that, seeing that it's been 4 years and all, but I usually don't call a story dead unless either the author states that it is, or if the author doesn't log on and is not active on the site. Seeing as how neither of these has happened, I believed it was warranted to ask

Also, hey Whiskey Golf! Loved you're writing of The Greatest Generation. Kinda sad it was stopped, but I kinda see why you decided to stop it with the fact that nearly it's entire premise was based on memes

Battle Action Harem Highschool Side Character Quest (No SV, you are the Waifu)
Edit: it's known for huge updates once a year.

Chapter dumping? I did that once on an old fanfic of mine a few years back, though it was monthly instead of yearly.

Yeah, I can see how that would apply here. But srly, is this story ever planning on returning or am I going to have to toss it to the fanfic graveyard?

More like the author releases a novel-length update every year. We're talking at least 50k words.

And I feel you've answered your own question. If there hasn't been.any updates in 4 years, it's dead. It's not Foxthots which only updates in Q4 of every year and then is in a coma from Q1 to Q3 (because I'm backlogged with real life cuckibg me, gettibg sick, and commissions).

*Sigh* *Insert sadness*

Whelp, another to the can I guess. Now I gotta find a new kancolle fic to tide me over. Any suggestions?

There's also Mandate of the Celestial Empress, my quest, where our MC is Foxgirl Princess Yamato, and Yodo and Kongo are side characters, along with Akagi, Kaga, Taihou,.and best salt fox Amagi.

Sorry, but what is double posting? I've only been on this site for about a week or two, so I'm not too familiar with most of the rules
Double posting, as I understand, is when you post twice within a few minutes without giving anyone a chance to respond first. In those cases an edit to the first would suffice in place of making a new one.

For example:
Also, hey Whiskey Golf! Loved you're writing of The Greatest Generation. Kinda sad it was stopped, but I kinda see why you decided to stop it with the fact that nearly it's entire premise was based on memes
These two posts of yours were made within 2 minutes. You should have just made the second post an edit of the first one.

Sorry if I don't make sense BTW

That is a pretty good explanation in my understanding.
You have to remember that this forum was made for discussions, and you can't have those if only one person is talking.
Therefore, if you were the last person to reply to a thread, and its been less than a day, just edit your previous post in stead of posting twice.
I believe it is also allowed to delete your old post and then post a new one. The edit function misses the feature to use quotes and replies so this is a workaround.

@TwinAttorney864 Please don't double post, it is against the rules.

For the record, there is no rule against double-posting on SV, other than etiquette. This is not the case in a lot of other forums, so a lot of people just jump in and say it's against the rules, out of habit. However, there is a rule against disruptive posting, and excessive multi-posting can hit that threshold – but as always, there are exceptions. (Active Mafia games are relatively no-holds-barred in terms of what is acceptable in terms of posting, though Rule 2/3/4 still apply – just very differently.)

Sometimes, deliberate double posting is used if it's been sufficiently long to warrant another post. This threshold is usually at least few hours, if not a day or two. People used to also do this for pings/quotes, to trigger notifications, but I believe this is less necessary now. (I haven't had to test this in a while.)

This is not necessary. Cut and paste will do the trick.

OK, that makes more sense. Thanks for the clarification!

No idea what you've actually read, so I'll just toss out some. I like:

All Wo-rk and No Play: An Abyssal's Trials in the Job Market, here and on Spacebattles.

Crash Dive on Spacebattles.

A Past But No Future on Spacebattles (also the start of a series).

Leave Her Johnny on Spacebattles.

Storm Warning on Spacebattles.

Captain on Deck, and its sequel Anchors Aweigh on Spacebattles.
